We did the Aloha show 2 years ago. My husband and I loved the food and the show, unfortunately the kids did not. They picked at the food, normally they are not picky eaters. The show was a liitle too long for them, they were squirming in their seats the last 30 min. At the time they were 3,5 & 8. We have not yet tried Mickey's BBQ. Its on our to do list this year.

They are both very different. The SoA show is a luau with a little comedy thrown in and some dancing interaction. MBBQ is like a square dance kinda show with characters. As for the menu SoA has polynesian food that is very good, the kids can choose other food from a children's menu - just ask if it is not offered to you. MBBQ has similar food to the HDDR.

We always prefer SoA and do the movie at FW with Chip and Dale for a little "outdoor" adventure.

We did both in August 2007 (took advantage of free dining plan). My kids were 12 & 14 and preferred the Spirit of Aloha, we're going to do again this year. The family sat next to us had fairly young children (one in a high-chair) and they all seemed to enjoy it also.

We enjoyed Backyard BBQ less, I think it's more suitable for younger children-they can get up and dance with Mickey etc.

If you do the BBQ make sure you arrive early it's a 'free for all' for seating - wasn't unfriendly or anything, the wise ones didn't wait for a host/hostess to pass them a drink from a tray as you went in, just went straight through to seating-you can help youself to drinks when you're in and grap best seats!

The seat are arranged in rows of benches-so if you go in straight away you can sit on the 'dance floor' end, especially nice for little ones who may want to get up and dance.

I'm sure you'll enjoy either:thumbsup2
