We were all set on going to Mickey's backyard bbq on our upcoming trip. I don't really worry about eating anywhere at WDW as they are so good with allergies. But I think I read somewhere recently that they serve peanuts there. Does anybody know about this? And has anybody eaten there with a peanut allergy?

Thanks :goodvibes

We go to the BBQ every trip and I don't recall any peanuts being served. Maybe others will recall differently, but we go at least once a year and my memory isn't that bad ...yet. :worship:

Same here...we've been to the BBQ on our last 5 trips (most recently October) and I don't remember peanuts either :confused3

Thank you so much.

I was all planned to book, then I read it in a post somewhere (can't remember where), somebody said about going there but was worried about the peanuts and their son's allergy that are served as a snack or something, they are on the table when you arrive and I thought :scared1: We had better not go. But thought it was strange that I had not read it anywhere before so thought, I will ask to see if there really are peanuts served.

So, it looks like that was not true  So we will continue with our plans and go!

:thanks: for your replies, you have put my mind at ease

Just wanted to let you know they do serve a peanut dipping sauce at one of the restaurants at the Poly resort. I believe its put out on the table with the starters. Maybe someone can help me out with the name? Was it Kona or Ohana's?

I read someone one here took their PN allergic child and they were ok. But to me thats way out of my comfort zone. Just wanted to let you know in case you were considering there.

We went to Mickey Backyard BBQ last summer with our PN and TN allergic child, and it is great. We of course talked to the chef when we arrived, but as far as I can remember, I think everything was safe which is rare. It is one of the few places where even the bakery items - cornbread in this case - is safe because it is baked there instead of at the central disney bakery. They have alll-you-can-eat Mickey ice cream pops and itsakidozies (sp?) ice pops for dessert. I have seen somethign posted here questioning the safety of the Mickey pops - perhaps they now have a may contains warning for PN?- but otherwise you should be good. There is also watermelon which could sub for dessert.

The restaurant at the campground has much of the same food, including the same cornbread, as Mickey's BBQ. Have fun!
