Hi Everyone,

Looking for some fun evening things to do with the kids DD5 and DS2 on our next trip. Just been reading about Mickeys Backyard barbeque although the reviews are limited and mixed in opinion on All Ears.
Just wondering whether anyone had done this and any feedback on the food and character interaction. Also wondered if you were staying off site as we will be easiest way to get there and whether you were alowed to do petting zoo etc.
Many thanks, Rachael

Hi Rachael,

I've not done this but agree it looks like fun!

As far as I know the petting zoo is open to all? But that's just a feeling I have.

Sorry, not much help.

Cheers

Hi,

We went to Mickey's BBQ in May, it was great. We enjoyed this more than the character meal at the contempary. The kids get to dance with Minnie, Mickey, Goofy Chip and Dale and the atmosphere is much more relaxed, no pressure to eat up and leave for the next set of diners!! All in all we spent a good 2 1/2hours there, booze included in the price, food was good and my 8 year old daughter had a fab time she even joined in with the line dancing!! The kids get a cuddle from the charaters and can collect their autographs, they are all dressed in cowboy outfits!
We were stopping on Disney POFQ and just got a taxi there. You can get the boat over from Magic Kingdom if that is easier.
Didn't get chance to check out the petting zoo as we were too invloved in the BBQ.

We did this about 8 years ago but it sounds like it hasn't changed :cool1:
We loved it :cheer2:
when we watch our old video footage this is the most played section
Mainly because of me trying to line dance  :rotfl2:  :rotfl2:
we had a great time lots of autographs and time with the caractors. :love1:
not cheep but well worth it

We went in '98 and hated it and the kids (4 & 7) were bored apart from the times the characters made an appearance. I think you need to be into line dancing or with a group of people to enjoy this.
I've read lots of reviews since and people either seem to love it or hate it.
