Mickey, Minions & more. 2 week holiday. Updated 9/14 - FINAL THOUGHTS

We walked over and along the way I took photos of the walls around the Mine Ride.

Then we found our way to here.

We went here to find a sweatshirt for Renee or a long sleeve shirt. It was getting chilly.

Toy pics.

That is a lot of popcorn.

Kitchen items.

No clue.

Snack anyone?

We walked out with nothing. LOl.

Then we left here and was walking again. We do a lot of that.

Then we went into the gift shop by Gastons.

Then it was a potty break time. Cute area.

Work it Vinny.

Decorations.

Before I post the next set of pics let me give you a little backstory. This was our last night and we had dinner planned for 6:15. I wanted to see if we can change it but I did not think we could being we were eating at BOG but we thought we would try. Earlier in the day Vinny went and asked if we could and they told us to come back and ask later on. Okay. I think we went back at 4:30 and asked and they said to come back. So now it is about 5:30 and we go back and Vinny asks and they give him a pager and we wait. A couple checked in right before us and they also have the same time as us. I pass time by taking pics.

The moon.

Beautiful sky that night.

Con't...

Now comes the part of the story that got us and the couple next to us angry. You see the people in the pic (not all but some) they are walk ups.

They were told to wait over on the bridge and so they did. For nearly a half an hour we watched them take them inside before us. Now yes our reservation was for later but if we showed up and sat there waiting wouldn’t it seem obvious to take the ones with adrs first and then the walk ups wait. Not to the geniuses at the host stand. We were not happy and Vinny and the lady next to us went and she was not kind. So I guess to shut us up they had us line up at 6pm on the bridge.

Then we were put up front and waited.

Then we were let in. Right at our time of ADR and this is where I am going to stop. I will say the reason we wanted an earlier time was we had not seen the Osborne Lights and we were hoping we could get there before it closed but I will say now this did not happen. The getting into the restaurant was a horrible experience and I would say at least 10 different people were let in first who did not have reservations. I did write to Disney and complained and they called me and said they would look into it. Now of course if no one could get in because supposedly it is booked up and very busy then that is one thing but when walk-ins get in that annoys me. Going to stop here.

Up next,

Our meal

wow, I missed 4 updates. I have been a slacker :upsidedow

It was great to see in the princess area as I have never seen that before.

Love Snow White. She's my favorite princess:

I love Peter Pan ride. It is such a short ride, but something so magical about it.

That sucks about BOG situation. I would have been ticked as well

Big Top has best snacks!!! I think we got like 4 or 5 things from there one night :rotfl:

Okay, all caught up :thumbsup2

I fall behind all the time on tr's. :)
They did a great job with the Princess meeting area.
It put a damper on the night but the snow falling inside and such took it away until I got home.
:thumbsup2

Car aerial toppers. You put those at the top of your car radio aerial. But these days, most of the modern cars have the aerials built into the back window.

Love you twilight pictures of the sky. Beautiful.

Sorry about the situation at BoG. On hindsight, it would have been better to wait in the stand-by queue rather than wait in the ADR line. That CM should have let you in. That's what they do everywhere else, right?

Shame that the result was that you had to miss Osborne lights.
That is what I thought it was but did not see any holes for it. We don't have an antenna so no need for it as ours is on the window. :thumbsup2
Thanks.
If we wouldn't have been charged $10 each for not showing up for the adr we would have.
Yeah. We had seen it before but wanted Renee to see it. I am sure the situation will happen again when we go for the holidays.

Once we got in it got better. We were shown to our table which was in the ballroom towards the back by the door and had a great view of the falling snow. I found that fascinating how they do it. Here is the rose napkin.

See there is the door and here is the Christmas tree.

Then Beast came out so I had to take a quick picture.

Now for the food or most of it. Here is the bread they bring out.

Apps:
Scott, Vinny & Renee - French Onion Soup - Topped with crouton and gruyere cheese $7.49

Entrée:

Vinny - Sauteed Shrimp and Scallops - Seasonal vegetables served in puff pastry with a creamy lobster sauce $26.99

Renee - Thyme-scented Pork Rack Chop - with au gratin macaroni, seasonal vegetables and red wine au jus $23.99

No pic.

I had noted it was Vinny’s birthday and they brought out.

The "Grey Stuff" $4.19

Overall the food was okay. The soup was very good. It is a vegetarian style soup and I found it delicious. I am not going to rush back to eat dinner here again but I do want to try lunch.

Total = $80.73 with discount and tip.

We settled up and The Beast was going on a break.

So we walked around to look at the restaurant. My pics came out bad.

Some people were still in here but it looked like they were cleaning up in here.

Then we went up front and got in line to see Beast. Here he comes.

Renee got a proper welcome.

As did Vinny.

I guess I didn’t. LOl.

Here we all are.

Then we headed out.

And I think I will stop here and we need to walk out of the park, escorted.

Up next,

Follow the snowman.

We loved BOG and will definitely eat there again. We ate in the West Wing which was super. It is smaller so it was quieter and the special effects are amazing. It was grandson's birthday so he got the grey stuff too and it was good. I had the onion soup and then the steak. Yummy and the castle is amazing, so many details.

I would go back for the soup but if I cannot get an adr I will break myself to try but I do want to try lunch.

Fantastic update.

Looks like the ambience was great.
Thank you.
It was.

Now it was time to leave and the Christmas Party was in full swing so we had to have an escort to the front.

We had to follow the snowman.

LOL. It made me laugh. The CM’s were so busy talking to each other maybe you could have slipped away but without a bracelet it would have been pointless.

Goodbye Carousel. See you next time.

Keep following the snowman.

Goodbye Castle. See you next time.

I love the way this photo came out.

Princess Tiana from a distance. I really wanted to jump the line and go and get a photo with her.

Bye icicle castle. See you whenever. LOl

Some windows as we were leaving. They had CM’s at the doors and if you did not have a bracelet you were not allowed in. It was the first time I saw Disney deny you from buying something. Shocking!

This looked pretty lit up.

Once last look at the tree.

One last blurry pic of the entrance.

Soon enough we were here again.

Then I was here again, doing laundry.

I always like to go home with clean clothes. After that I went to bed to get ready for our last day in the parks.

Here is my walking for the day.

Up next,

Great updates, Scott.

Sorry you didn't find a shirt for Renee.

I'd have been slightly ticked off too with the way they let people in for dinner at BOG without an ADR.

I LOVE that soup; I know a lot of people don't because it is vegetable...but I think it is wonderful.

I had that pork chop last time and really enjoyed it.

Great pictures of all three of you with the Beast!

You got led out by a Snowman? I'm surprised he didn't melt by the time you got front. They had CM's blocking you from shopping without a bracelet? Now, I've heard everything.

Can't wait to see where you go your last day.

Well gee, if you were going to be led out of the park by a snowman, it could have at least been Olaf. :thumbsup2

Haha, you're so right. It's so unlike Disney to deny you shopping. Regardless of the circumstances, they usually let you spend money.

Ending your update with laundry. Fun stuff, I tell ya!

I didn't realize you couldn't get in a store without a bracelet, but I guess they have to do that to get guests to leave the park.

I really want to try the grey stuff. I had a regular old cupcake when I ate at BOG the first time. I made a ADR for Feb simply because it was available. :rotfl2: I'm with you - the food is OK and no rush to go back, but I couldn't help schedule a coveted ADR. :rotfl2:

The Christmas tree in BOG is outstanding. Really adds to the ambiance.

Looks so pretty in BOG. That soup looked really good :goodvibes

Their Christmas tree is gorgeous :goodvibes

I can't believe they refused guests to shop during the party...:(

The food looked good, sadly I didn't get my BOG lunch...best laid plans right? I love the pics inside and you three with the Beast. No handshake or kiss on the hand for you? Not fair...great pics though of you all :goodvibes

I would have been beside myself with the walk-in situation :headache:

And as for laundry...nothing better than being able to go home, unpack, and be done! I also do laundry on vacation :thumbsup2

I think I caught up....almost time for Europe!!:hyper:

Great updates, Scott.
Thank you.

Sorry you didn't find a shirt for Renee.
She was fine. :lmao: It was a bummer.

I'd have been slightly ticked off too with the way they let people in for dinner at BOG without an ADR.
it is really frustrating. Why get up so early to get the adr when they let anyone in.

I LOVE that soup; I know a lot of people don't because it is vegetable...but I think it is wonderful.
I thought it was wonderful too. Let's go have some.

:rotfl2: He did not melt but he did run away as we got closer to the front.
I was shocked they blocked people from shopping. I guess because the party merchandise was out.

Can't wait to see where you go your last day.
Coming up next.

Haha, you're so right. It's so unlike Disney to deny you shopping. Regardless of the circumstances, they usually let you spend money.
:rotfl2: that is very true singing "Summer".
They certainly do. I think it was the merchandise they don't want you to have.

Ending your update with laundry. Fun stuff, I tell ya!
I live the life. :rotfl2:

I didn't realize you couldn't get in a store without a bracelet, but I guess they have to do that to get guests to leave the park.
Yeah and party merch I think.

I really want to try the grey stuff. I had a regular old cupcake when I ate at BOG the first time. I made a ADR for Feb simply because it was available. :rotfl2: I'm with you - the food is OK and no rush to go back, but I couldn't help schedule a coveted ADR. :rotfl2:
:rotfl2: you caved into peer pressure. Get the gray stuff next time. It was good. I want to try the strawberry cupcake, that looks good.

The Christmas tree in BOG is outstanding. Really adds to the ambiance.
it was very pretty and made it feel like you were home and not in a big park.

Looks so pretty in BOG. That soup looked really good :goodvibes

it was very pretty.
The soup was the best part.
It was gorgeous. :thumbsup2

They certainly did.
I am going to try lunch next time. I am sure you will next time. Maybe there was and the photographer didn't catch it. :confused3
It was very frustrating and not very fair to the people who make adr's.
I like it. We are planning on doing some in Italy too.
12 days.

Morning came and we were up early and called bell services to get our bags. It ended up they got us too. LOL. They drove us up to the front. Here is the view from the back of the cart.

We did the airline check-in and then we off to have fun. I love this carriage.

Everyone pose.

Then we went inside. Not sure why being we do express checkout and never go to the counter. But here are some pics.

Then we went out to get the bus.

It looks like we went back to the grandstand for the bus.

Maybe that is our bus. I don’t think it was. If I remember correctly three buses pulled in and ours was the 2nd.

We are off.

Yeah!

Let’s go.

Always a welcoming sight to see.

This not so much. LOl. Only kidding.

Hmm, looks crowded.

It was only 9:05. We missed the park opening by 5 minutes. Not bad for us. We got a photopass.

I need to remember to take off my glasses.

We walked along and came to another CM PPP and I asked him if he could do any magic shots. He said he had a great one for us. I was so excited to see what when we got home. Not sure if I should be insulted or not but I love them and was hysterical laughing.

Meet Vinny Fairy.

Con't...

Scott Fairy

Renee Fairy.

I was actually happy with them being I had not seen them before. Now we walked on from there and came to a place with only 5 minute wait.

I think Vinny was jealous. LOl

Then it was onto Goofy.

Goofy was friendly too.

Then it was Minnie’s turn.

Then we were done. It was a great meet as it was not rushed. I think I will stop here.

Up next,

I chase chipmunks

Love the Stitch pic, and the Fairy pics

SSR looks so pretty! I miss it there (I did love OKW mind you-so many great resorts) :santa:
