Mickey, Minions & more. 2 week holiday. Updated 9/14 - FINAL THOUGHTS

Welcome to all who have posted and to those who have just read.

Our trip was from 11/29-12/13 and the first three days are not Disney related but 1 day will be Universal related.

We were leaving the day after Thanksgiving. Our Thanksgiving was lovely as always. We went to his nephews house and it was great from the food to the company. When we got home that night I packed up most of my stuff and the rest I did in the morning.

The car was picking us up at 12:15 but in typical fashion they were 15 minutes early (I learned my lesson with this and was ready) and we were soon on our way. I thought the driver drove like a maniac but Vinny said he was fine. I was looking out the window and he never really stayed in the lane. It scared me. LOL

We were at the airport In no time and the security line was really small and we were happy. We made it through with Vinny being patted down on his shoulder and then we found Renee sitting at a table. We went over and got something to eat and I had a premade protein pack. It was okay but really too much food and very pricey.
After that we made our way to the gate. Here is the plane we will soon be getting on.

Then I saw this. It is a Jetblue plane.

There was another plane from Jetblue that was all red for the firefighters on 9/11 but I did not get a pic. I did borrow one from the internet.

It was really nice plane and I wished we were taking it.

Soon we were boarded but we were running late (as usual for NYC) but we were soon on our way. Here are some in-flight pics.

Here is where we were. LOL. I was bored.

Almost 2 hours later I took this photo of the sunset.

This was 2 hours later than the original photo on the tarmac.

Another sunset photo.

I had to do a mouth check as I had a small bag of Doritos on the way down so I had to make sure my mouth was clean.

One last sunset photo.

We were then getting close to our destination.

Some pics as we come into Orlando.

Very close.

Here is a video of our landing. Do not mind the conversation between Vinny and I at the end. He lied. LOL. Click if you would like to see a landing at night.

Then we were there. A blurry pic to prove it.

Christmas tree when you are on the way to the monorail at the airport. Sorry it is blurry I took it on the go.

Another tree in the next terminal. Again, taken on the go.

We get to the terminal and we proceed down to the Alamo rental desk. I bring the piece of paper I printed with our reservation and I was so happy I did. The agent said our reservation was canceled. I was not happy but I had the paper and gave it to the agent. She went to talk to her manager and then came back and said we will get the car at the rate we had listed. I was happy but it was their fault and no reason as to why it happened. So we got a car (we picked a Nissan Altima) and were on our way to the hotel.
We bought a GPS before the trip and we used that (best idea being we can bring it anywhere and use it) and we found the hotel easily. We took our luggage inside and checked in along with Renee and we brought our bags upstairs. A few minutes later we were meeting in the hallway to go get dinner.

We decided to go to Bahama Breeze.
A pic from the internet. I took some but I guess I deleted them by mistake.

I had the Lobster & Shrimp Quesadilla. It was so good but so much and it was only an appetizer.
Lobster & Shrimp Quesadilla Caribbean lobster and tender shrimp with fresh spinach. Griddled and served with tomato salsa and sour cream.

Vinny had the Seafood Paella. A Caribbean classic, (pie-ay-ah) sauteed scallops, shrimp, fish, mussels, chicken and sausage with yellow rice. No photo. I cannot remember what Renee had as I do not have the receipt. I do have them for the rest of the trip.

After dinner we went to a liquor store and picked up some wine to bring to Gerrys the next day. Then we went back to the hotel and we collapsed.
Sorry day 1 was not exciting as it was a travel day.

Up next,

Day 2: We head south to see friends and family.

I would love to try Jet Blue but I am not paying more than other airlines to travel. Plus all flights from Philly go to Boston. Lets add travel time to fly north to then fly south. Guess I am still driving unless I travel solo.

By the way I can't see the video. Flikr say I don't have permission - it is private.

Travel days are not so much fun. I love how Jet Blue has those special planes. We rode back on the Boston Red Sox plane. It had one red seat and supposedly whoever sat there got something special. It was in the rear and never heard what they got.

From NY it is cheaper than Southwest. I would not do connecting. Yuck! Surprised it doesn't go to JFK being that is the HUB for them.
I changed it. Should work.

:wave2: Hey. Don't venture over here too often anymore, but saw your link on fb so I thought I'd check it out!

No they are not. Those planes were so cool to see. BOO. I would have asked for another plane. :rotfl2: That is neat they did that. I wonder what they got.

Thanks. That is what I love most about them is the live maps.

No way I made the first page. You are a way too popular!

Hopd you had a a great trip and looking forward to hearing all about it@

I'm here!!! So sorry I missed you! I heard you got to see Janet and Rosie :grouphug: we ended up on the darkside this trip...we also flew JetBlue from Newark and they were amazing with our kiddos!!! I am missing the warm Florida sun so badly!

Here I am! Really like the sunset pics. Nothing like them when you are flying. Can't wait to see all your other pics too!

You and Hunter do the same mouth checks. He'll take a picture of his mouth AND his nose. A guy has to make sure that he looks good I guess. :rotfl:

Yah for arriving and the car situation getting worked out quickly. Those quesadillas look so delicious right now.

Fun start, Scott. I wish we had Jet Blue in Chicago. Flights out of O'Hare are usually late so I feel your pain with LaGuardia. How fun to be able to watch the path of your flight!

I think my shot of the tree at MCO is probably blurry too...in too much of a hurry.

We've not been to Bahama Breeze in ages; will have to get over there one of these days (if it is even still around here).

:welcome: Not sure if I welcomed already. :lmao:
:rotfl2: we do. I didn't want to look like a clown with the Doritos all around my mouth.
They did work it out quickly so that was good.
I could go for them again. D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!

The joys of living by a big city I guess.
:rotfl: I was anxious to get tot he car rental desk.
I hope it is. Good place to eat.

Following along. :)
