"Mickey Isn't the Only Animal At WDW!" Hunting for Disney Critters 1/23/12-1/30/12

Hey Kira! I like your photo of Zoe, by the time I saw her the jewel on her face was on the other side. :lmao: Plus she had a layer of clothes on under her dress.

Maybe you should move your trip up when mine is because both rides will be open for three days when we get there, plus Osborne lights!

That is so funny :lmao:. I am sure her hair didn't stay perfectly neat all night, either.

I can't move our trip up. We already have our non-refundable plane tickets:sad1:! Also, we can't go that early in the month because of work stuff. Sorry! Maybe next time  Goodness knows we are both always planning a trip there :rotfl:

So on this trip, my dh and I get to do something completely different at Disney: Drink (and by "drink" I mean alcohol :lmao:)!

I am already in love with the food at WDW. I wonder if I will love the drinks there, too? So my question to you all is: What drinks do I HAVE to try while I am at WDW?

Here is a list of drinks I really want to try while I am there:
  • Pina CoLAVA (I loved the virgin version so I am excited to try this).
  • Either the Hula Hoop or Lava Lamp at the Pop Century Petals Pool Bar
  • Tropical Macaw at the Polynesian (either at the lounge while we wait for our Kona ressie or at Kona during dinner)
  • Either the Grey Goose Lemon Slush or the Grand Marnier Slush (or both if DH wants to share but I am afraid I would end up drinking both :lmao:).
  • Yak Attack. I have heard this drink is really weak, but it sounds yummy. Has anyone tried it?
  • Possibly one of the spiked milkshakes at Scifi. Mmm...Bailey's :goodvibes

So those are just a few of the drinks that look yummy to me. I love sweet, fruity, and sour mixed drinks, can you tell?

I don't plan on drinking too much. Maybe one drink a day. Obviously those drinks are expensive. And while I don't really mind paying those prices for yummy mixed drinks, I do mind paying Disney prices for that much beer. When we go out, DH usually just gets a beer. It drives me crazy because I hate paying the price of a six-pack for one stupid glass of disgusting brown goo that dh can get at the grocery store (I hate beer, can you tell? :lmao:). I would much rather pay a few dollars more for a yummy pina colada . But beer is what hubby likes, so beer is what hubby gets :goodvibes. So on that note, does anyone have any suggestions for a unique and tasty beer that my dh can try on this trip? It all tastes, smells, and looks the same to me, so I am really no help :rotfl:

Acutally it did! In the morning (sorry you weren't there!) her hair was a little messy, coming out on the sides, still had glitter, but not as much hair spray or shellac on it. I just asked your mom if we could do a girls only trip before my pass expires. Interested? It would be totally different than your last girl's trip. Then you could get an AP and TIW and save 20% on Josh's drinks when you sit to eat.

You'll have to join in my TR for this past weekend when it gets started!

Sorry, not much help for drinks. I've only tried a few drinks at Disney, my favorite one being the Grey Goose which is already on your list.

I would love to do a girl's only trip! Let me know when you start your most recent TR. I can't wait to read it :goodvibes

The lemon slushie or the orange one? Or did you try both? I know you weren't a fan of the fiesta margarita. I plan on steering clear of those (even though they are pretty). What else did you try?

I'm hoping by the weekend or so I can start the TR, but I have to meet up with my partner in crime and swap photos and videos. The girls' trip would have to be before October 15th, since that's when my pass expires and I'm not supposed to renew it. :lmao: We tried the orange one in October and it was good, but since I don't normally drink I couldn't drink much and we passed it around between the three of us.

Grey Goose is the lemon slushie. I'm not a fan of anything orange, so that's why I didn't try the Grand Marnier (orange slushie). But DH did and he tasted mine as well, and he said the lemon slushie was the best.

Mmm...I may have to try both after all. I like orange AND lemon!

Are they pretty strong, then?

Just noticed this PTR and thought I'd comment because we are going to Disney World from Jan. 19th-29th and are also from WA state! We live near Seattle, not sure where you're located but it's always fun seeing west coasters making trips to WDW, since most of the time I see it's people heading down to Disneyland!

What airline are you flying? I'll be following along with any updates you have. :) We're getting close!!

That is so cool that you are going to WDW! Most of the people around here seem to go to Disneyland instead. Don't get me wrong, I love Disneyland. But the food at WDW is sooo much better! Especially since they changed the tigger tails at Disneyland :sad2:.

Anyway, we are flying southwest this time. Usually we fly Alaska because their hub is in Seattle and we can get direct flights. But I didn't want to pay their huge bag fees on top of their huge fares, so southwest it is. How about you?

I know, right?! I grew up in Boston and made 2 trips to Disney World since everyone out there goes to Disney World, of course. Interestingly enough, my husband, who has lived in Seattle his whole life (aside from when he went to school in Boston, where we met :lovestruc), has been to Disney 22 times. :scared1: His family has been DVC members since it first began, so it makes sesne, but holy cow! I've rarely met anyone else out here who has been to Disney World, nevermind 22 times. :rotfl: I haven't been to Disneyland though! So I think after this trip, we might try to squeeze in a quick long weekend trip sometime in October. DH is a HUGE fan of Nightmare Before Christmas, and we would kill to see the Haunted Mansion re-done for Nightmare Before Christmas.

Anyway! Totally hear you on the whole Alaska baggage fees. If I had my choice, JetBlue would fly directly to Orlando, buuuut they only do Boston for me, so oh well. We have opted for Alaska though, as the direct flight is really hard to beat. Plus I really feel like they have the best flight times. We leave the 18th at 10:45 and get in the 19th at 7am, giving us the entire day to have fun in the parks (as long as I get SOME sleep on the flight ). Then our flight home is Sunday the 29th, and we leave at around 8am and get in at 11am or something around that. It's perfect because we can have the day to get settled in and get ready for the work week. I have an Alaska Airlines Visa Signature card that allows me one companion fare for $99 per year, so the price is hard to beat, when one of our tickets is only $99!

Really excited to see another Washingtonian going! :goodvibes

I want to see the haunted mansion done for Christmas so bad!

I like red eye flights, too. I love being able to have that whole day in the parks! But Alaska seems to be the only airline that has them from WA.

Joyeux Noel to the both of you!!

Thanks! Merry Christmas to you, too!

Sorry it has been so long since my last update. Christmas is the busy season at my work. I haven't had days off in a row for a few weeks. But now that the crowds are lower, I am back to a better schedule.

So I know it is after Christmas, but I have been wanting to share these pictures all season. I just haven't been able to pry my husband off of his computer long enough to post them! But I got him Skyrim for Christmas, so he is currently distracted :lmao:.

So here are some pictures of my Disney decorations!

I love our Mickey snowman!

017-1.jpg

Our poor little tree. We have tried to get it to stand up straight all season. As you can see, our attempts to have failed :lmao:

Minnie and Mickey Wedding Ornaments from my parents :lovestruc

022-1.jpg

Oh there you are, Perry!

021.jpg

We have two of these beautiful ornaments on our tree. Josh bought me one on our honeymoon, and Betsy got us another one for Christmas! I love these ornaments so much, I have to resist the urge to buy a bunch more for next year :goodvibes

023-2.jpg

This is an old ornament that my parents gave me when I was little. The date on it says 1999! Isn't it cute?

009-1.jpg

And last but not least, a picture of our favorite kitty in front of the tree.

So that is it for now. I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!

Great Christmas pics, Kira! I love the ornaments. And the kitty is so very pretty in front of the tree...

Love all the Disney decorations. We bought that Happily Ever After ornament on our Disneymoon too. :goodvibes:

LOL, I can't believe I got you one you already had! I saw it and could only think about your poor bride ears that fell apart. I wanted to thank you very much for cluing me in to things your mom and sister like.

Thanks! Dib was especially interested in a peppermint lollipop that I had, so I thought I would break out the camera and try to get him to pose for me. I had trouble getting him to look straight into the camera, though. :goodvibes

Awww. That's okay. Josh and I actually debated getting a few on our last trip, in case something happened to the first one (kids and cats + pretty ornaments =broken ornaments. There are quite a few ornaments that I refuse to put on the tree because I am so worried they will get broken). So I was really excited to get a second one :cutie:. Thank you so much btw for all the beautiful gifts! I plan on wearing that gorgeous necklace on our trip. Sooo pretty :lovestruc

I'm glad you like it. I remember you like butterflies like me. I was so happy it showed up by Christmas! BTW I don't know if your mom told you, but Shelly who your mom met will be down there while you are, so if someone stops you that might be her.

Kira, love the Christmas decorations...especially the Mickey and Minnie Bride and groom.
