Michelle Duggar pregnant with #19!!!

In the People.com article, it said that Michelle didn't understand why she wasn't losing weight on her diet and why she just didn't feel right. I'd think she'd know the signs of pregnancy by now. Unless this is a "change of life baby", and her cycle is irregular.

I don't know how everyone can be so happy that she is pregnant again when the doctors told her about 3 or 4 pregnancies ago that it WASN'T SAFE. I think the children would rather have their mother alive than another sibling.

Where did you get this info from? When Michelle was pregnant with her youngest daughter they showed her going to the doctor's office, and then they interviewed her doctor. Her doctor said that Michelle is very healthy and there is no problem with her many pregnancies. She's had the same doctor for at least her last several pregnancies, so the rumors that were going around earlier this year that her doctors keep dropping her because she keeps getting pregnant were/are not true.


For the record, I like this family very much and enjoy their show and the way they're raising their children, but I definitely would not choose to have so many children, and I was surprised at the recent announcement of another pregnancy.

I saw them interview the doctor too...I can't remember where I saw that bit of info...but I know that I read it somewhere. I told you that I have been fascinated with this family since the first time she was on tv. Plus common sense will tell you that having 19 babies with a bunch of them being c sections is not good for a uterus.

Just thought I would point out that Josh's wife Anna did graduate from college with a B.A. in Christian Education. Her family like the Duggars, are strict Christian fundamentalists...and yet she did obtain higher education.

Good for her, but she is not one of the girls being raised by the Duggars who are part of the Quiverfull movement. I am curious if any of those girls have plans to go to college and get their B.A?

I may be mistaken, but I remember reading that the "college" where Anna recieved her B.A. isn't an accredited school. The college has limited "majors", all of which have to do with their religion. I remember thinking that her B.A. would only have value in her own environment of religious homeschoolers.

I like this family. Their kids seem very respectful and nice. You don't see that in todays society. The family isn't on welfare. They seem to have it all together. If she wants 19 kids more power to her. What a good and kind family they seem to be.

I certainly understand why people have big families many years ago. When my mom and her 22 siblings were born, my grandfather wanted the boys so they could work his fields at no cost to him. Unfortunately my mom's mother left the entire family when her youngest was a baby, because she just couldn't do it anymore.

I do hope this baby is healthy and that Michelle also comes theough yet another pregnancy with no problems.

I do like this family and feel the children are happy (from what TLC lets us see), but I also feel sorry for the older children, being saddled with such responsibility (again, thinking back to my many aunts and uncles with the same responsibilites). Somewhere in my mind, I have a problem reconciling this family having this show on TV. I don't understand, looking at their beliefs, why they would put themselves out there. It's said they don't need the money (I don't know that for a fact...that may have changed with so many more mouths to feed), so are they on TV to show what a normal family is like (is this normal?) or is it for the attention. I just can't grasp why they are on TV if they don't need the money. And why do some think they aren't doing it for the money? Most very religious people shy away from attention.

So you'd like your daughter to live a life where she's totally controlled by her husband, and no more than a prize cow popping out babies? Sorry, that's really how I see it. I could not stand being in a marriage where my husband makes all the decisions, not to mention always wearing skirts. I think I wear a skirt maybe 1 time a month..

I think Duggars are ok people. Like others mentioned they aren't on welfare and Bob does well with his real estate business. The family buys in bulk and they make some of their clothes and shop at thrift stores. I do find the Quiverful movement a bit weird and I think the buddy system parenting the Duggars do is a bit unfair to the older children. I could see them having the older children babysit the younger ones once awhile but Michelle should have some one on one time with each child once awhile.

I don't watch the show regularly. But is Josh attending college?

Michelle looked different, but I could not put my finger on it. Was it the makeup? Has she lost weight? A different hairstyle? She looks very young, not at all like a woman in her 40's who is pregnant with her 19th!

Her hair is differant and tonight I was watching and noticed she was wearing a big beaded necklace and I don't remember ever seeing her wear something like that before.

I am wondering if this might be a weird sort of "competition" with her DIL, the prettier hairstyle seems to have popped up since they announced they were going to have a baby.

And I am thinking Josh and Anna are only going to have a few kids, certainly A LOT less then Michelle. There was something on one of the shows when someone asked about how many kids they were going to have and one of them said the "as many as God gives us" and the other one said 2 to 3!

As for the Dr. thing I did read an article somewhere, and it has been a long time ago so I can't remember exactly where, saying that her previous Dr told her she needed to stop and she found this current one. None of us know the personal beliefs of this Dr and that she may be of a like mind when it comes to having kids.

How many times can they spin the roulette wheel and come out with a perfectly healthy child? I hope this one is healthy, but they really are taking a big gamble now, especially with her in her 40's. Do they realize how expensive it would be for her to have a child with say, Down's Syndrome or other challenges? Would that really be fair to the other kids? .

I worry a lot about Michelle's health and the health of any future children too. Her doctor has probably advised her of the risks but it seems she will keeping having children.
