I went to Michael's craft store last night to get t-shirts (turned out the sale doesn't start until today), but I found a whole bunch of cute crafts for my kids for $1 each. Some of them I am going to bring on our trip to WDW in 2 weeks.
I bought wooden little frames and keychains that came with little markers to color them in. I figure the keychains and frames are small enough to fit in my backpack and I can pull them out and have my kids color them while we're waiting in line.
Not a $1 craft but for $4 (for a package of about 20 I think) they had popsicle sticks shaped like people on the end. I am going to bring them with us, too, and my kids can use some crayons to decorate them and turn them into puppets while we're waiting on lines. I might even see if my older DD wants to make hers into characters. Then she can get the characters to autograph their own sticks.
I also bought little kits with a few fancy wooden beads and a string. I am going to try to have my kids make necklaces while standing on line, too, but I am not sure how that will go. I figure I might have to help them so the beads don't drop all over, but we'll see. If I keep them in a baggie and just give them one bead at a time it might work. Most of the beads weren't that small. And there weren't that many because it is meant to just have a few beads and then the rest of the string showing.
I also bought sets of 2 plaster designs with 3 paints and a paint brush for $1 each but those are an AT HOME craft.
Hope this helps someone.
