MGM Character Meal Update Thread

Cruz Family,

IMHO, I think you should stop calling now and let someone else start another thread for the other rumoured character meal.

You have done more than enough for all of us who were interested in the Pixar meal. There seems to be no takers on the passing of the "daily caller" job, so you should retire this thread guilt free!!!

I, too, agree - especially to the part that you can do it GUILT FREE. You have done a ton.

I'm crushed that the Toy Story meal is not gonna happen. I would stop calling and wait till more new comes out. Thanks for calling everyday but as they say "your job here is done".

I agree both about being crushed and that you should feel no guilt about not calling any more. Thanks for calling for so long!

Hopefully this is not the end and someday we will have our "Boys Character Meal". This whole thing really gets me angry just when we think it is finally about to happen they pull the rug from under us. As soon as I am done writing this I am going to email Disney and give them a piece of my mind (not that I can afford much these days).
I will continue to call from time to time, and will be sure to let everyone know if anything comes up.

On another Disney chat board one poster said that he went for an interview for the part of a character named Sarge. One of the green army men. There will be a character meal called Breakfast and Beyond at MGM. They where shooting for June this year. So we have a while to wait. Hang in there.

Oh, and yes, he did get the part. Along with a couple of other people who will be the character when he can't. Sarge is the "host" Woody, Buzz and other characters are his friends.

Can you put a link to this or give the url? We had the same information a month ago but have since heard that it was cancelled due to a disney/pixar problem. I would LOVE your information to be more current but I'm afraid it's the same thing we all saw before the cancellation was leaked.

We would LOVE a Toy Story meal. The Incredibles would be an okay second, but my son has been in love with Buzz for 2 years now, and he is only 3. Considering Toy Story is still going strong after 10 years, I am really surprised they haven't done anything along these lines.

They were not allowed to since they are Pixtar characters.

They are Pixar charactors true but didn't disney just buy out Pixar?

Yes, Disney just bought out Pixar, but I also know there are some "issues" over character rights or something. However I am still surprised nothing has been done along the Toy Story line. "Finding Nemo" is also a Pixar film and while they don't have any live characters (I don't think), they do have Turtle Talk with Crush and other Nemo attractions. Just my 2 cents, and I know exactly how much that is worth (not much).

It will be interesting to see what happens in the next year with all this.

A thread from yesterday on the Theme Parks forum said the breakfast will be JoJo & Goliath and Little Einsteins starting mid-May. The poster recently had a conversation with a manager at MGM and he said that is the current plan.

DS has informed me he wants no part of that, so I won't be trying for ADRs!
