Mexicos War On America

I have no problem with anyone who is in the US legally, but if you visit a country or move there, you should know the culture and be able to speak so of that nation's language. When I hear someone act like I'm second rate because I don't speak Spanish in the United States, it makes me mad. I would never expect to be accommodated the way many people do.
If you are going to live in this country, you need to know the culture and language.

I agree. :thumbsup2

Mexicans, Mexicans, Mexicans!!! Why only Mexicans? Illegal immigrants are also from China, Venezuela, Peru, El Salvador, Colombia, Honudras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Republica Dominicana, Guatemala, Panama, etc.
The issue is about illegal immigration, not about just Mexicans. Yes, illegal immigration is a crime, but now being a Mexican is a crime, legal or illegal. Not right.

Yes illegal immigration is a crime. Don't try to make it a race issue. Why are the mexicans singled out you wonder? Mexico is a boarder country with the U.S.. There are close to 11 million illegals from mexico in the U.S. I would say if you added all the illegals from the countries in your post they would not even add up to 1 million. That why when poeple talk about illeagal immigration mexicans are pointed out. If there was a huge surge of poeple comming from Canada we would talk about them, but thats not the case.

I just hate to see this issue be about race when it is not. If an legal mexican was to move next door to me I would welcome him with open arms. My problem is with the illegal ones no matter what country they came from.

So that is the US's problem? :confused3
I didn't say that. My post was in response to this question:
Here is my question . . . so what is Mexico's President Vicente Fox doing to better his economy, besides send his people to America? Why don't the Mexicans protest there in Mexico in front of his offices, while the kids skip school to march around the streets to make their statements like they do here in America? Why are the Mexicans not holding him accountable for their lack of jobs and benefits?

I am open to hear any and all answers to this.
I didn't say it was the United State's problem, I was offering an explanation of why there are not massive protests in the streets of Mexico. Do some research on human rights in Mexico. It is quite eye-opening. Oh and the Mexican government is considering taking further labor rights away, so the situation is only getting worse there.

#1 - Glenn Beck was just hired by CNN, so no, I'm not sure I'd put them at the top of the 'Fair and Balanced" list. However, if you're listening to Rush and Beck and think you're getting actual fact that hasn't been twisted out of all recognition, then you're sadly mistaken (just as if you were listening to Air America and taking everything as gospel). Neither of them are journalists, you do understand that, right?

#2 - No, John, "paying a robber better" won't stop him from committing a crime. However, you're equating the people coming here to try to scrape together a better life for themselves and their families with "robbers", and that's nonsense. You may as well equate someone breaking the speed limit with an axe murderer. Sorry, but you don't fix a hangnail by chopping off your arm, and you don't fix this problem by building a berlin wall. You have to fix the root cause, or you will never get rid of the symptoms.

I have a BIG problem with the undocumented aliens not following the laws of our country. Many of them work with bought social security numbers. They are making a VERY big mess with social security, as if it was not bad enough. Everyone drives, but with no license and no insurance. My county has a large Mexican population and none of them want to be Americans. They just want our money and our benefits, without following our laws. And remember, every child born in the USA of undocumented aliens is a citizen of our country. It's scary to really think about it.

I challenge you to support that claim with documented evidence and link. There is no way to know if the "brown" people are citizens of Mexico or Columbia...or Peru....or Equador....or any other Central or South American country.

and I'm with Wvrevy - until the ecomomy in Mexico/Central America and South America is better, the people will keep coming despite the laws or fences or whatever (although I am all for stronger boarder control).
The discussions with Vincent Fox and the other leaders in the region shouldn't be about "guest worker permits" , they should be about partnerships for a better economy and education.

I received the following today from Florida congressman Ric Keller. He supports strong illegal alien legislation. I will be sending him a note saying I support his efforts.

Dear Friend:

I've recently returned from spending a week along the U.S./Mexican border learning firsthand about the challenges facing our border patrol agents and the dangers that illegal immigration presents to our national security.

The House of Representatives recently passed legislation to improve border security, H.R. 4437, and the Senate is now set to act. I'm interested in your input and have scheduled a series of town hall meetings.

We were 5,000 feet up in the mountains along the border California shares with Mexican at 2 a.m., freezing in 30-degree weather with the wind howling in our faces. Eight shivering young men, illegal aliens in their late teens and early 20's, sat on the cold ground in handcuffs, grateful to be caught.

Illegal aliens, like the ones I saw in handcuffs, continue to enter the United States from the Mexican border at the rate of 8,000 per day. Today we have 11 million illegal aliens in the United States.

Last year, our Border Patrol agents arrested 1.2 million illegal aliens attempting to enter the United States from Mexico. Significantly, 155,000 of those arrested were from countries other than Mexico. They included illegal immigrants from Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan. This poses a "very serious" national security problem, according to CIA Director Porter Goss.

I spoke with Border Patrol agents who'd apprehended suspects on the terrorist watch list.

One night while I was riding along with the Border Patrol, two illegals from Pakistan were captured. One convicted sexual predator was caught trying to cross; so were wanted murder suspects, drug dealers and smugglers.

I've been speaking quite frequently on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives on this issue that's so critical to our national security. I post all of my speeches on the 'multimedia' section of my webiste, so feel free to check them out.

During my trip, I sat down in the living rooms with four different families who owned ranches along the border. One couple, Ed and Donna Tisdale, documented on home video 13,000 illegal aliens crossing their property in one year alone. The Tisdales had their barbed-wire fences cut by illegals, running off the family's cattle. When their dogs barked to scare off intruders, the dogs were poisoned.

Another rancher, Wade Rowley, told me about numerous break-ins at his home while his family slept, as illegal aliens tried to find food and clothing. One morning, his daughters had gone out to feed their pet bunnies, only to find them skinned an taken for food by illegal aliens trying to escape to a nearby highway.

The economic impact of crossers who successfully reach that highway is catastrophic.

Illegal immigration costs taxpayers $45 billion a year in health care, education and incarceration expenses. The cost of the estimated 630,000 illegal aliens in Florida is about $2 billion a year, meaning every family in my congressional district pays a hidden tax of $315 each year and faces depressed wages because of illegal immigration.

One million immigrants come to America legally each year, and my staff members spend the majority of their time helping hose who want to come to our country to work hard and play by the rules.

We're protected from dangerous people entering the country at our airports: ID's are checked against terrorist-watch list, and baggage is screened.

Who's doing checks on the 8,000 people who arrive here illegally every day?

Ah yes, the "fear-mongering" angle. That's a particular favorite among Bush Republicans these days. "Be afraid, for the scary brown skinned man with the strange gods is coming to get you!"

The simple fact is that it would be financially ruinous if we were to try to completely close our borders and arrest all illegal aliens currently living in this country.

Pardon me if I missed it but what is your solution to the problem of the great influx of persons entering the US illegally?

So you don't see illegal immigration as a problem at all? Nothing should be done differently to make sure the laws are enforced?

According to the border patrol records:

That'd be kinda hard when Fox helps them cross the border illegally.

Wvrevy has stated that it's a red herring to take the spotlight off the real problems in the US.

LMAO :rotfl2: If you're going to make an argument don't contradict yourself. ( The simple fact is that it would be financially ruinous ) Sounds like fear-mongering of another type to me.

The only ones who would be financially ruined are the ones who would no longer be getting a free or reduced price ticket to life in the US (those who milk the system and those who are paid under the table).

I will never understand while people think it is okay to turn a blind eye to illegal behavior.

Again--not every person crossing the border is pregnant and evacuating their mud hut.

Not only that, the coyotes pay the federales and Mexican border patrol to help them with the people, they get monthly payments from them. :furious:

Just do the math, some coyotes charge $3000 or more per person, and they bring 30 or more per day.

Another protest next Monday here in Atlanta.

I got this ad from a Spanish board, check it out...

So I can plop on over to Germany and stay as long as I like, right? What other country in the World is expected to ignore their immigration laws and have open season for foreigners to come on in.

If you're a citizen of the European Union, yes.
FYI, we have 12 million immigrants in our population of 82 million. In France and UK it is similar, Spain is overrun by illegals from Northern Africa. I said at no pint that you should ignore it. Nevertheless should you be aware that sooner or later US-citizens of hispanic origin will outnumber the WASPs - either by immigration or due to their higher 'reproductive rate'.

So there goes more of my tax dollars to support families living in Mexico. Aint that just lovely. Meanwhile, there is people here in America LEGALLY if not by birthright that dont even have a home to live in. Just stop by a shelter one day and you will see many men and women who can still work but are not working. Why, because if hired by anyone, that employer would have to pay higher wages along with taxes and social security. They dont have that burden now with illegal immigrants. America cant even help its own people much less every other countries, mainly Mexicos, who pretty much force them to come here.
