Mexican Riviera vs Caribbean

I know this is a trick question but here goes:

We are looking at our next cruise and got another wrinkle to throw in. The dates are not going to work to go on a 7 night Dream, but a Mexican Riviera does fit. We have never been into the Pacific and flights are within a few dollars of each other. With an 8 YO boy and 13 YO girl, are the newer ships worth more than the new itinerary to us? Would most likely be Feb so cooler weather for sure.

We have been on the Wonder and really like it and not sure we would ever be "bored" but also can not cruise nearly as often as before due to schedules and just DCL is straight up too expensive. For anyone that has done both the route and new ships, which would you do again?

I can’t answer without knowing what 7 nights Dream cruse you’re asking to compare to Mexican Riviera to. Also “We have never been into the Pacific” does that mean that you have never been in the Pacific Ocean or are you saying it’s just not your thing?

I would take the Mexican Riviera. It's very easy to cruise out of San Diego. The cruise port is like 2 miles from the airport, and there are plenty of hotels within walking distance to port. It's always fun to do something new. Water is not warm if you are a beach person. If you like Mexican food that might make up for it.

Go somewhere new! You can look at port adventures to have an idea of what you could do in port.

100% agree
If you like the clear warm beach water then the Caribbean is better. San Diego is a great city to cruise out of!

Sorry a 7 night Dream Caribbean. We were looking at the Dream vs Treasure/Destiny for a 7 night and semi settled on the Dream, but due to school schedules and the Dream only doing a couple 7 nights next year it wont work. SO, fast forward to looking into the Mexican Riviera. We have never been to the Pacific Ocean in any way and we love the classic ships. We are able to cruise less often so my concern if you will, is do we go for the different location of true location and familiar ship, or new location of the ship and familiar location of the Caribbean. So it has become a Mexican Riviera on the Wonder vs a Western Caribbean on the Treasure. IT will also be February if the weather is a deciding factor for anyone. One kid loves the pool and will gladly shiver even if he is the only one in the pool, the rest of us would be happy to watch funnel vision endlessly in sweatshirts if that is what we have to do.
