Just wondering if anyone has done this DCL excursion and whether you felt it was worth it? The hour long drive each way is putting me off a little

That alone would be a hard no for me.
I know this is kind of how I feel but then if its an amazing cooking experience maybe I'd give it a go. Out of the 6 ports we visit on cruise I have only managed to find 2 with anything that interests me and this would make 3.

1 hr is a long way. As an alternative suggestion, we booked the bean to bar workshop at the ChocoMuseo independently and had an amazing time. It's not quite cooking, but it is food related and kid friendly if that's a concern.

The 1 hour ride would not necessarily put me off on going to the excursion. Last time the wife and I took an excursion in Mexico, the driver of the shuttle van stopped by a store and everyone got to stock up on snacks, drinks and alcohol. I can't even remember how long our ride was because people were drinking and our the driver was super cool. I don't drink alcohol and I had a great time too.
