Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - Part II

Good morning. I hope all your DH's have a Happy Father's Day!:goodvibes

We went to her house. We did drive on the lakefront to kill some time because we got to Mandeville a bit early (it only took 40 minutes from my house!) and drove past a park or something that had water spouts. I must say, Mandeville looked so nice and inviting! Very green, lots of trees- it seems relaxing over there.

We love it over here. I grew up in River Ridge and DH in Metairie.
We bought our lot in 1998 b/c of all the pine trees and park look it had. Well, Katrina took care of that, but we still love it. It is getting busier every year and more built up. Our yard is bare, except 1 young oak tree in a corner, but we are trying SLOWLY to get it looking inviting again.

Please tell your DH's to enjoy thier day!

Happy Fathers Day!!!

Good morning NOLA! Johnny said to thank y'all for the birthday wishes. He made out good this year, birthday and Father's day back to back!:rolleyes1

His request for a father's day meal is a big honkin pot of spaghetti sauce with meatballs and braciole, gotta get to work on that.....:stir:

For all the dad's out there:

Anyone else flood? Johnny's Mom in Westwego took in a good bit of water, he's cleaning up now.

Hi guys... Happy Father's day to your husbands. All quiet on this front. DH is lounging around. DD and I just baked him a cake.

It stormed over here but no flooding in my house.

happy Father's day to the guys out there...

went to BR lst night and DH watched S & the City AGAIN... the women in the theatre were much impressed...we went and ate dinner with my college roomie and she and her DH hadn't seen it yet...mighty good men agreed to see it (and my dh to see it again!)

dd came home today and we went to see Kung Fu Panda....dh tickled to death because he runs a karate school....it was funny and cute.

Hey, we had a good, but hectic Father's Day. Started out by making DH his requested breakfast: eggs, bacon and toast stuffed with bananas, chocolate chips and cinnamon.

Then, a little later on, met my parents and sisters at Andrea's.

Then, a little later on, ate AGAIN at my in-laws house. They BBQ'd.

Now, I need to do some walking:)

You had some good eats today.

Good Morning NOLA.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Lori that's wonderful news about Ashton!

Lorie I'm glad you had a fun day in Mandeville. I just love it over here.

Kathy I'm sorry to hear about Johnny's Mom's house and the flooding. I hope it wasn't too bad.

I'll be taking Gracie :dog: to the Vet this morning. Just the routine stuff and she needs some shots. Poor baby! She'll just come home and sleep for the rest of the day.

Mary - Sounds like you had a great day!

Tricia - She had about 3 inches of water, just enough to make a big mess and poor thing was trying to clean it up on her own.

Have a good day everyone!

Father's Day ended up being a really good day. But I can't lie, I was nervous most of the morning trying to figure out how to give everyone "equal time". I tend to internalize a lot. Like I said, it ended up being good:)

Morning ladies....It definately feels like a Monday!

Father's day was a very relaxing one for us...we hung around in our PJ's all day!

Kathy how is your MIL today? I am sure she was stressing.

Hey y'all!

We had a quiet day yesterday- we were celebrating Father's Day and DH's birthday since it was just a few days ago. He just wanted to hang around the house and have Five Happiness for lunch. I also baked him his requested cake- Chocolate Gold. I made Ghirardelli chocolate frosting for the cake and it was sooo good! :cloud9: So much for my Wii Fit weigh-in today...

Kathy- Sorry your MIL flooded but glad all seems to be well now. No flooding around here, thank goodness.

Mary- Sounds like you had a busy day yesterday! Glad it all went well. :)

Wow- congrats! I can imagine how nervous you must be. Good luck telling DD.

Hey y'all,

Our power was out, from about 4:00am to 2:00 pm yesterday. But no flooding here. Kathy the water came pretty close to my Mom's house in Westwego & DD's street flooded.

Anyone else flood? Johnny's Mom in Westwego took in a good bit of water, he's cleaning up now.

So sorry about your MIL's house!

I had planned scalloped potatoes, grilled ribs, grilled corn & beer can chicken. DD suggested we come over to thier house but they were on the way to church. So I sat outside, peeling potatoes & onions. Put them in foil on the grill too. Thank goodness I have that huge grill with a burner on the side. The power came back on, just about the time all the food was cooked. But we ate out on the patio anyway. DH enjoyed his day.

DD had a interesting swim here Sat. morning, while she was in the pool, 2 egrets came to visit! You can see a small portion of DD's head in the right corner of the pic.

She slightly freaked, but not nearly as much as I would have been.

Up close they were pretty scary looking!
