ilovejack02...that thread is the most disgusting thing I've seen on the DIS I think ever. Who says "go home and drown"?!? I have this mental image of someone saying that to the wrong person and they find themselves pushed into the nearest ounce of water by the hair on their head and held there within an inch of their life. That OP deserves whatever comes her way.


Thanks for the advice on the time of year. I going to aim for April, but every trip I've tried to plan lately has fallen flat so we'll see what happens with this one. I might have to/get to move that week I have off in April.

Good morning. How's everyone doing?

Yesterday, David woke up with fever, sore throat and stuffiness. So, he missed school yesterday. I brought him to the ENT. He is better today and back at school. He is going to have a hard time catching up today, I'm sure the teachers piled it on yesterday after being evacuated for a week.

I'm glad Ike is looking better for us, but am praying for the people it will descend upon

Things are looking up for us with Ike! Let's just hope & pray it doesn't get as strong as predicted. Maybe it will go into a very sparsely populated area south of Brownsville. Was I correct, I didn't see anything else out there either!?

Mary, Sorry to hear David is sick! Hope he improves quickly.

Alexis & I are fighting the sinus/cold thing. Using that sinus rinse stuff on a 5 yr old is no fun first thing in the morning. But it really seems to help her a lot. After a lot of whining & nose blowing, she was able to go to school since she doesn't have a fever. Unfortunately when we arrived there was another little girl crying hysterically, kicking & screaming to not go to class. Sort of set off a chain reaction & Alexis got sad & clingy. But the principal came chat with her & took her into class, so that helped.

We are in the same boat, trying to keep those two from missing too much school, so they can go on vacation! Are y'all taking off tonight? Where are y'all staying or are ya camping?

Jenny, She was really cranky this morning & I was just waiting for the crying to start over going to school. But I got lucky, the only crying was over the sinus rinse. We are in the same boat, trying to keep those two from missing too much school, so they can go on vacation! Are y'all taking off tonight? Where are y'all staying or are ya camping?

We are staying at All star Movies.. Im interested in seeing how its going to be. I didnt love Pop, so I hope I like this one better. We are heading out tonight prob about 3 ish. Be back on the 17th!

I told the teachers about 3 weeks ago he would be out, but planned on telling them again last Monday.. well ya know what happened with that LOL. I sent a note to school this am and really apologized and asked if they had anything ready to please send it home, If not i would make sure he caught up when we get back.
I bought him several new reader books, so at least he could keep up with his reading on the drive.

Poor Alexis I know she hates that stuff in her nose! I have been fighting the itchy throat for about a week too; I just started Zyrtec so I hope it goes away.

DD was okay this morning for school but boy is it hard for her to get back into the studying mode.

That stuff is going around- the snotty stuff. But I must also admit that the snotty potti works well! I thought Haley had fever again last night, although NOW she is conjested and coughing.

Jenny, I hope you love ASMovies. We did not like Pop also, but after our mini 2 day stay at ASMovies, it brought back good memories of the last time we stayed there. It felt much more comfy(even the beds are different, don't know about better, but it felt that way to us) and although the food court was smaller, it wasn't as packed. Maybe we just picked a bad time to stay at Pop. We were in the Herbie section and I felt not half as far away from the food court as we did at Pop in the 80's section.
I will liken it to high school- I went to a ASMovie size high school (<1000)and Pop was like a big Mandeville/Covington size high school(>>> 1000).
I guess Pop is just too big for our liking!

Going back to Asmovies put my faith back into the value resorts!!
I still may try CBR next time, but I really like saving $$$(means I can go more often)! If I got a bigger bed at a moderate, I'd definitely change!

Thanks y'all for the concern about Alexis. But her afternoon will be much better. Even if she is feeling bad, I won't know about it. My other 2 neices (her cousins) will be here after school today. She'll be so excited, she'll immediately feel better!

Would y'all continue praying for my SisIL's Mom that has cancer. I'm having the girls this afternoon, because their Grandmaw will finally get another chemo treatment today. She missed two treatments due to Gustav. Miss Delores spent a couple of days at our house with the rest of the family She is not looking well at all, but thank God her home in Chauvin did fine.

That felt too much like Katrina all over again. We had Bob's Mom sick & passed away right after. And his StepMom missed months of treatment for leukemia & lost her home & rental property and then didnt pull through the leukemia.


Jenny, I hope y'all have a great time! We liked ASMusic & I'm not a value resort girl! I'm sure Jack will be fine with the schoolwork! Did they keep him in 1st grade?
