Happy Friday everyone!! Sitting @ home waiting on the repair tech to come figure out why my 8mo old washer is pouring water out of the dispenser onto the floor... ...

Twitter-less here too, guys. And old cell phones - I've got an ancient one too. Of course, work pays for it, so although I hate carrying it around, I keep my mouth shut. I just wish it would break one of those times it decides to jump out of my purse or fall out of the car !

Don't you dare apologize for us having to sit through an afternoon fighting over your princess, we are all dying to meet her!!!! I'd love to meet Todd too, if for no other reason than to see Tricia(arminnie) flirt with him! Looking forward to Saturday.

Now this makes me jealous....I really wish I could be there tomorrow.

On another note, I'm a little irritated...She totally started making fun of Treme... .

So obnoxious. I guess she feels the same about Paris, Dakota, Houston (an old family name in my case)? I think it's romantic and love most of these "legacy" names, but it's not about my opinion. It's about what you & DH think fits your son the best. You'll know for sure in just a few weeks!

I'm catching up whilst on the bus. (yes, I just wanted to use the word "whilst" for the heck of it! )

Kathy - Yea for Kyle! I'm sure he's used to ignoring most of that crowd noise anyhow. As long as he remembers it's all about the kids (and I'm betting Momma's raised him that way ), he'll do just fine.

I am totally and completely at my wits end..

G had a field trip today to the aquarium. she just came home and said she got into a fight with a "friend" and pushed her down. No paperwork came home yet. Two weeks ago she got a behavior report for arguing with another friend and spitting on her.... I was going to bring her to Baton Rouge tonite for a sleepover but I can't see allowing that because of this....I just don't know what to do and I am being good - not screaming but not sure just what to do....

It seems like the end of a school year brings out tensions with kids. I remember working at school and the whole year would be pretty much fine, then the last month,. For what it's worth, I think you're doing the right thing.

I agree on both points. I think keeping her home from a sleepover sounds like an appropriate punishment for acting like a thug in school.

So the fiasco with the field trip has apparently been solved, but of course there was drama involved. It took almost 2 hours of my day to deal with the mess. The two classes that were supposed to go with me on Monday backed out, and one class cannot go on a trip alone (school policy). So, I got bumped to Tuesday. But we still had the buses booked for the day, so the principal made the other two classes take a trip because she didn't like that they were backing out. So now they are going to the zoo and they are mad. I would not put it past at least one of the two to call in sick so her class can't go - she's done it before.

We mailed out the apartment application today. Ironically, I got a lease renewal form for my current apartment today. I guess they are required to do that since my lease is ending, but geez. Of course, they want to raise the rent from the current (new as of this month) rate - by $97/month! I am checking the NOT RENEW box and mailing it back in tomorrow.

So...good news...my mom is feeling better about me moving...for some really bizarre reason. They hired a new person at her work and she has to send them to Baton Rouge for training. So my mom is on the phone with this person and she starts telling this lady about how I'm moving to New Orleans next month. (YES, my mom is that person in the WDW queues who will talk to everybody around her...) Anyways, my mom feels better about it because the lady had good things to say about the area.

Kristina, I think that may be somewhat normal for girls that age. They start to get really catty & downright hateful around then. The ones that don't know how to handle the meaness, use whatever they can to retaliate. Angelina did almost the same thing in 4th grade. A "friend" had been picking on her, teasing & starting to ostracize her from the rest of the group. Then in class the girl's sat right behind Angelina's. She starting "teasingly" pulling her hair. After days of this, Angelina had enough, she got up & grabbed the girls head & pushed her head into the desk! Of course we were called in & they wanted the girls to be counseled together! I did punish her severely, but I put my foot down on the couseling the two of them to get along. I agreed to her meeting with the couselor but not "with" the other girls.

Bethany, I'm glad you're Mom is feeling better about your move!

OMG-we FINALLY have our answer....

We got the whole offer and we are moving to Houston, but waaaaayyyyy outside Houston, like Covington is to NOLA. They want us there by the end of year. He got a raise, a very nice- VERY nice sign on bonus thingy, they will move us and they are paying for a house hunting trip for all 4 of us. They would like us there by January at the latest.

I have been very numb today but gave in to boohooing my head off tonight. I have a headache. My house, my home, where we battled cancer, and our kids were babies. We will be here 10 years on July 4th weekend.

BUT it will be good. I really believe in Gods plan-we've done our part and now here is the answer. Homeschooling will rock there, we'll have many new adventure field trips(Space Center, Astros, etc...) and MANY road trips home. I can actually not work, but will for vacation /roadtrip$$$ (Like Braveheart said, "FREEEEEEEDOOOOOMMM"). Maybe I'll work at a fun place where there are no sick people, like the Disney Store, or more practically and Bethany suggested, and educational supply store. ha! I will , in all honesty, prolly do contract work so I can make the most $$ in the least possible time, b/c I am just meant to be around people with heart issues, I guess. I'll let you know when i do! All I know is that it will have to be kid friendly(and allowed) and not too often since we really won't have help at all.

We got the whole offer and we are moving to Houston, but waaaaayyyyy outside Houston, like Covington is to NOLA. They want us there by the end of year. He got a raise, a very nice- VERY nice sign on bonus thingy, they will move us and they are paying for a house hunting trip for all 4 of us. They would like us there by January at the latest.

Don't feel bad guys; I'm another non-twitter-er. And I'm only 26!

I did something totally totally stupid yesterday! I was feeling really good for once, right? So what do I go & do, yeah fall down. I was starting to get dinner together. I opened my big pot drawer on the bottom, went to get something out of fridge, turned around & forgot the drawer was open! Whacked the heck out of my shin & then fell on to the ceramic floor! It was one of those times where everything slows down & I had so much go through my head in those few seconds it took to fall. "Oh no, how could I be so stupid, I am not going to fall down, I'm not going to fall into the drawer! Oh no, I'm going to hit the floor & ruin my recovery!" I had mentally berated myself in those seconds.

I took ibuprofen & starting icing, my shin, neck & back right away. I'm not hurting as bad as I expected, but all the numbness is back & full on.

DOH! That sounds like me - the part about berating myself for falling AS I'm falling! Hope you are feeling ok. I honestly don't know how people ever survived without ibuprofen! I know I couldn't.

Sorry I can't be much help here. I had "friend" issues all through school. I never hit anybody, but many the screaming matches I had with my dad b/c he didn't like my personality and I didn't have friends. (I don't know how screaming at me was supposed to help, but I guess he thought it would make some difference....it didn't. MEGA kudos to you for keeping your calm!)

I was planning to go to the Botanic Gardens, but apparently having this on my To Do List equates to pouring rain on Saturdays. Every time I have tried to go this spring, it pours. Today they just put a shipment of construction stuff (floorboards? and drywall) for one (two?) of the apartments that just got gutted, and it's still outside. Yay for wet drywall.

WOW what a blast!!! it was so great that we were able to pull off the baby shower for Ms Marigny - she was really surprised! and Todd was able to come and bring Miss Sienna, who is just even so much personable than her pictures! good food, good friends, good cake! Piglet was there in spirit!!

we SO missed the rest of you who couldn't make it...but yes, we are already planning our next meet on Sat July 11 - place to be determined...as long as there is food...

oh and some of us are considering NOLA Food & Wine grand tasting next weekend....
