Hey guys, haven't read back but wanted to say we had a great, very wet day in Baton Rouge. Had rain all the way there and back and the entire time we were there but it didn't bother any of us. We took Kyle and one of his roomies out to lunch and had a new(for us) dish called "Angels on Horseback". It's a jumbo shrimp stuffed with an oyster, wrapped in bacon and lightly battered and fried....oh...my...word...AMAZING!!!!! We spent the rest of the time touring the campus and being shown around town. Kyle is actually coming back to NOLA tomorrow to get some reference letters for his job application so I'll be cooking for him tomorrow too!!!

so you now have yet another city to explore it's culinary delights!

Who did you talk to? Did you call T-Mobile's 611 or did you go into a store? How did you convince them to get out of your contract? I have something like 1.5+ years left on this one. My phone works fine on the Westbank most of the time until I enter Plaquemines - although the other night it wouldn't work in my house, even next to the window and I was talking to my mom and about 8 dropped calls later we gave up.

We talked on the phone before I could respond.

Hi gang....Aly and I hung out today and did a little shopping. It's so nice having uniforms and not have to buy all the clothes. She actually didn't see anything she wanted.

I think I'll watch the game as well.

Today DH and I drove down into Plaquemines and we had both our phones. He uses a pay per minute company that used Verizon towers. Here's the bizarre thing: mostly, when my phone worked, his didn't, and when his worked, mine didn't. I couldn't really go over to my school though. I'm going to take his phone to work on Monday to see how the service is. And thanks Kathy for telling me how to deal with T-Mobile. I'm not looking forward to it - I've been trying for 3+ years to get them to change my name.

Kathy , that sounds yummy. I am baking 2 chickens(one for another meal that requires shredded chicken) and some veggies with it. All in one and hopefully yummy.

Went to Academy today for Paul's new shoes for WDW(he was the only one needing tennies) and looked for Croc flip flops for Ashton. Got some from the website for Haley but none to fit Ash that we liked-PLUS Disney kid crocs are on sale on the website. I bought Haleys for $15 and free shipping!

Sounds like everyone is having a good weekend. Gosh it felt so much better outside today!
We just did some shopping & errand running. Had lunch out, it was a nice day. Ending well too, with the Saints win!

Terry, You'll become even more appreciative of uniforms as she gets older. At least there on no arguments over what to wear to school!

I am happy that I have the first two school days under my belt. I love second grade and the teacher I am working with this year.

This morning, I made my ADR's. It actually upped the excitement because it feels like this trip is around the corner. There was only one that I couldn't get at all, Marrakesh if you can believe that? Wonder what is up because I didn't think I had to worry about getting that one.

So in all the years of travelling down the same road by the bayou, I have never seen an alligator until Friday. I was driving down the street when I saw a big splash in the middle of the Bayou and there was an alligator chomping down on some big bird. I was hoping Bethany would be close by but no luck....

DH took me to Drago's at the Hilton Friday night to celebrate- it was delish! Kathy and Sheryl, I wanted to take food porn pics for y'all but I forgot my camera- crabmeat stuffed lobster with a fried soft shell crab on top! It was a beautiful sight to behold!

It is gorgeous today! Took a walk with my friend and the kids this morning and it was so nice to not start sweating after five minutes of walking!

I gotta admit, I am GREEN with envy of all of you with upcoming trips! May still looks good for us, but it is looking more like a budget trip at ASMovies...which is just fine, as long as I'm there I'm happy!

Cara- Your ADR looks great! That IS weird about Marrakesh...usually they never book up. I can't wait to try Ohana next time!

Rie used to have friends sleep over both nights on the weekend but we had to cut out Saturday sleepovers because they were up all night and wanted to sleep all day on Sunday, then it was hard for her to go to sleep on Sunday night and of course, harder still to wake up on Monday morning.
