Met Any Celebs While Touring?

Back when I was a server at Disney, I served Neil Patrick Harris and his (now) husband; they were very nice, polite guests, and no one bothered them at all. I think today they might get more attention.

Then in 2012, when I was 36 weeks pregnant, DH and I attended a Candlelight Processional show where NPH was narrating. We ended up sitting across the aisle from David Burka (is that his name?) and their two kids, who I think were really young at the time. I think the kids lasted about 2 minutes into the show before they lost interest, and David and another person took them out. I ended up leaving before the end too because I was, well, fat and uncomfortable, and while I was stood in the American pavilion, I ended up stood next to them all. They strike me as a nice, normal family.

We also had Tom Cruise eat in our restaurant (he wore a baseball cap and sunglasses throughout the whole meal, and the guest relations host he was with ordered his food for him, he never even looked at the server), Adam Sandler and his family (very nice people), and Katy Perry and her entourage (less nice people.)

I saw Kelly Ripa at MK while she was hosting the Christmas parade (that must have been a while ago now) and she was the tiniest little person I'd ever seen! So petite! I also saw Ryan Secrest taping the Christmas parade in Disneyland about 7 years ago.

We dined at Cinderella's Royal Table on Friday night 11/13 and we entered the picture line right behind Paul Rudd and his family along with their Disney cast escort. Then after we were seated they were seated at the table next to us.

No one bothered them during dinner as they were off to the side and not that visible but by the end of dinner a few people recognized him and were taking photos that just happened to have him in it.

As they were leaving Paul was carrying one of the wands with a star at the end that are given to the female guests and he playfully waved his wand at a few diners as he wandered through the tables and it was fun to watch their reactions as some recognized him. They then quickly exited through the kitchen area.

Wait...Someone and their daughter had a Peter Pan car to themselves? Um...I wouldn't want a third person sharing that seat with me either. My husband and I have NEVER had a third person shoved into our car with us. Courtney Cox was not rude for wanting that. I would have done the same.

they were saying that CC wanted the entire ride to herself, not just one car

In December 2014, I saw Celine Dion at Teppan Edo. She was there with her kids and they sat at the hibachi grill across from ours. She was very polite to everyone and was laughing and having a great time.

Funny story... My teen dd was off by herself last trip when she came across some plaids. She kind of followed them for a bit because she's really into trivia and they were spouting off a lot of interesting facts. After a bit someone turned to her and asked if she wanted an autograph. She was like uh no I was just listening to them and ran off in embarrassment. No clue who she was "stalking."

my friend almost bowled over Issac Hanson (I think?) last week at AKL cuz she was so distracted by cute kids....that happened to be is haha

Anyone have stories of meeting celebrities at Disney parks? I'm not talking a planned meet and greet or show or something...I mean you just happened to see a celebrity doing Disney like anyone else.

I'll start...we were at Epcot Monday 5/25 and randomly bumped into Garrett Clayton (Tanner from Teen Beach Movie) in the shops at the Morocco pavilion. I noticed him and was pretty sure it was him, but I had to consult my 8 yo daughter for confirmation. We asked him for a quick pic and he obliged...he was very nice and didn't seem at all bothered by our request.
A few actually.....in 1991 met John Travolta walking into Haunted Mansion. He was with a small group and he was cool, signed autographs, was friendly.
Met Donny Osmond in Downtown Disney about 15 years ago or so. He was also cool and interacted with people who recognized him walking around.
When I worked at Grand Floridian, checked in Mariah Carey in '07 as well as Troy Aikman and also met with Roy E. Disney. Guess which suite he booked? ;-)
That's it so far :-)

Kobe Bryant in EPCOT. He was having breakfast for his daughters at Akerhaus (sp?). My two sons stalked him, lol.

Not me, but a colleague and his family saw John Lennon and May Pang while they were staying at the Polynesian in December of '74. This colleague was only 14 at the time but knew who JL was.

John Lennon signed the paperwork that legally separated the Beatles at the Polynesian.

I got that info from the DVC newsletter so you know it's more reliable than most of what I write.

Oh I forgot that one! Mariah Carey ate in the restaurant I worked at, and asked her server to cut her steak for her. Like, stand at the table and cut it into bite size pieces. The server was brand new and nervous, so he stood there and cut it for her. She had about 3 bites of it.

My mom and sister went crazy over some guy from DWTS last year. I think it was December 27th at AK.

When we were on the boat from POFQ to Downtown Disney, the driver pointed out the tree houses and said a WWE star rented out an entire tree house for his family. Like most males, I grew up on the WWF and asked him. He said "even if I knew I wouldn't be able to tell ya."

My sister's friend was at Disney a few years back. She was on Splash mountain and when she went to check the photos at the end of the ride, she noticed John Stamos was sitting behind her.

On a side note... I wrote an ebook not too long ago. I started it while on sabbatical and finally decided to finish it. It's about Surviving Christmas at Disney. Anyway - it was more of a personal project, but I started a website and put it up for download. I didn't really think anything of it.

Fast forward to this past Christmas. I'm standing in line for Thunder Mountain and someone from the next line over taps me and says "are you ____" I didn't even put two and two together. I go.. "yes?" The nice woman starts chatting with me about loving my book and so on. My family friend said people were eavesdropping and he even saw someone try and take my picture. It led to a good laugh after the ride. I'm a nobody, but apparently the book helped the woman so much that she felt the need to thank me. :rotfl2:

Did she buy the pic just for that?? Haha, I would have.

While we didn't see her, we were stuck in the line for Peter Pan because Courtney Cox wanted to ride alone, no one else in the ride with her and her daughter. We were not happy having to wait longer.

Yuck. I hate special treatment at the parks. One of my favorite things about WDW is that we're all just kids. All on the same level. Besides, I'm pretty sure that your average joe who takes an annual trip to Disney gives more money to the company than a celebrity who goes once. I'm pretty good for advertising, too. I may not sell magazines but I have converted many a skeptic! :wizard:

They weren't trying to put anyone in the car with her. She wanted the entire ride empty for her and her daughter. We never saw her, we heard the CM's talking about it. But, she did stop the line for about 20 minutes.

I, also, have never had an extra person in the car with us. They only do that on rides with a single rider line. :goodvibes
