Menu update at Magic Kingdom's Pecos Bill Café

Not a Fan of Pinto beans but maybe worth a try. Better than having to ask for toppings for choices that were meant to have toppings. I will say the salad looks decent but that is what I put on the Taco salad? or bowl with some beef when they had it years ago.

This place and Pizzerizzo, no thanks.

We had pork dishes at Pecos that tasted like burnt plastic and nothing has ever looked tempting enough to try again.

As long as I can leave the pinto beans out of any selection, I like the new menu changes. Always loved tamales, so I'm good with that if they're even half decent. I admit I'm very old-school and really dislike the new 'healthy restaurant' trend of using the term 'protein'. Makes me feel like I'm eating Soylent Green or I'm a farm animal - I don't want a 'grain' and a 'protein' - I want rice and meat!

Maybe we just had a bad experience, but the ONE time we went it was probably the worst Disney food we've ever had and unfortunately it's the kind of food that should have been good because it's not overly hard to produce.

Perhaps if I could convince my wife to try it again, she would. But I doubt it.

Soylent Green made me laugh.

Your experience wasn't a one off. The food at Pecos Bill is consistently awful.

We eat there every trip and the food's good. I'm not looking for gourmet from a fast food location.
Not looking for gourmet either but I do expect the food to be above trash and Pecos Bill unfortunately doesn't succeed in that regard. The only serviceable QS in MK is Columbia Harbor House and even that is just okay.

I guess we'll agree to disagree, my family is obnonoxiously picky(drives me nuts) and they have no issue with Pecos Bill. I will admit that we liked it better when they had the toppings bar. It can't be that bad since it's wall to wall people everytime we eat there and they have a ton's of seating. It's weird that they would decide to change the menu with how busy it always is.

The only place we actally don't like only because we don't like seafood is Columbia Harbor House. We like Casey's, pinocchio Village Haus and Cosmic rays all good enough fast food for us.

I had a chicken rice bowl there just last week and it wasn't bad (first time I'd eaten there since the trying times), not the best thing I've ever had at WDW but it filled me up. I'm o.k. with TexMex but why does it all have to be bowls? I love a good tamale and I'm a green sauce gal (went to high school in NM if you know you know) so give me all that is in that bowl, just not in a bowl but on the side and I'm good. I rarely eat QS in MK and more often than not when I do it's corn dog nuggets at Caseys. I wonder if you can still get the sour cream and guac. on the side? Most likely don't see myself eating there any time soon but I'm sorta o.k. with the changes.

Right. I had to go back and make sure about this, but why the hatred for and lack of flour tortillas in a Mexican-themed restaurant (i.e. no tacos or burritos)?!?

My guess is the new ingredients can be more quickly poured into a bowl from a large dish of them (looking at you pinto beans); thereby, speeding up the time to prepare and serve as opposed to having to grab a tortilla, place it in the container, and fill it with ingredients (ex. "proteins" :D 🙄) increasing staff efficiency and lowering the need for staff headcount. I am thinking way too much about this, but I hate when Accountants make the menus.
