Mentally Preparing: A Focker, A Croc & Waldo hit POFQ! Trip Report Link is UP!

Hi guys! Just checkin' in to say I slept right through that earthquake. It was actually like 30 miles north of LA and I"m like 30 miles south of LA, so I was like 60 miles from the epicenter. :lmao: Slept right through it! Good thing, eh? I need my sleep these days. Whenever an earthquake rocks, my adrenaline just going in overdrive and I can't go back to sleep!

Ok, heading out to get my Paris hair colored! Have a great day all!

LY,MI!:grouphug:

Pics when you're back please! And we're glad you're OK. :)

Mornin'! Tracy, I slept right through it myself and so did the boys. I had Good Day LA on as I was getting ready for work and heard about it but didn't catch what it measured on the Richter Scale. Couldn't have been that high if I slept through it although I've been sleeping lock a rock lately.

Cool, happy beautification day and you'd better post pics as soon as you get back. I called Carlton last night and my stylist won't be in on the 18th, 19th or 20th.:sad2: I feel bad booking with another master stylist but I have no other choice.

Dont forget to posst some pics of the new hair. Cant wait to see it.

Good that you slept through the earthquake, do you get many?

So what colour did you decide on the hair?

:lmao: Okay, I can't resist - we Floridians just LOVE talking about teh weather - right? Back me up here Lurrrv!

::yes:: And now that it's hurricane season, oh Lordy. :sad2: Our top news story this entire month is the weather. We get interrupted from our regularly scheduled broadcasts so that the news can report that it's raining or there's a tropical depression off the coast of Africa that they're monitoring. :rotfl:

Here's the current state on the West coast: 8am, 83 degrees and 89% humidity - the Feels Like temp. is 94. :faint:

Only 94?! It feels like it's 100 down here in Miami. :sunny: :faint:

:BUT, Orlando, being inland, tends to get cooler at night (the HOT Gulf waters keep my city warm at night long past summer). Right now, WDW's 80 with 89% humidity and a Feels Like of 86. I don't want anyone freaking out, though - I'm here to tell you it's manageable! Loose layers, light colors, a loads of water. And get to the parks EARLY!! Trust me - it's so much better if you're mentally prepared :thumbsup2

::yes::

:T, I'm with you on the rain. It doesn't cool a darn thing off unless it stays cloudy all day.

I am hoping for cloudy weather next week. That's what saved us back in June. Cloudy with minimal rain. Perfect!

I had a tropical depression once...I drank a couple of Hurricanes and it went away....ba dum bum....:lmao:

Ewwww...I hear that! It has been around 101 the last couple of days...110 with the heat index...

:scared1: OMG, I just saw that on CNN! Tell me honestly - does it all pretty much feel the same past 95ish, or is it so much worse over 100?

Oh, ouch! :scared: Up north here in your old stomping grounds, we had a pretty hot and humid start to the week, but at this moment it's 65 and raining, high today only 68... The boys were supposed to go on a beach field trip at day camp today - that's not happening!

Now that's funny! :lmao:

It's been around 78-80 here. We haven't gotten a heat wave yet, which is odd. :confused3 There's really not any humidity either. I'm a gettin' a little skerred about the Florida bidness. :faint:

Oh! I found MistyMates at Wally Mart. I hate Wally Mart, but that's the only place I can find pool chemicals. They had a TON of 'em! (MistyMates, that is.)

 Tracy.
It's getting so close for you guys now.
Have a lapu-lapu for me during your Dis meet. I think it's my favorite drink in Disney :drinking1
I loved all your new packing/stuff photos.
I am excited to read about all your adventures, but can't wait to hear how many times you have to play Where's Waldo again.
Good job on your diet :thumbsup2 I have been doing Weight Watchers over a year & have lost a little over 50lbs. It's so hard!!!!
Hi Melanie! We will most definately toast to all our DIS friends who will be there in spirit! Mactan style, baby!
Excellent job on those 50lbs. :woohoo: I agree it is hard, but just remember, baby steps. You'll get there! ::yes::
Yeah I'm all caught up! You guys are almost there!!! :yay:
Good job! :thumbsup2 I'm so excited, I'm about to pee!

I'm almost afraid to look at the weather. I did notice the change in the first couple of days though:headache: Be careful of what V says when it comes to weather...she's got some kind of weather juju - it's almost scary how accurate she can be...:rolleyes1
Oh that's right.
WHAT were you thinking - planning a trip in August????:sad2:
:rotfl2: What I won't do for a Lapu with friends!

Well, I did try those Misty Mates out...they'll be nice to have:thumbsup2 Too bad they don't come in the 5 gallon size:rolleyes:
Ummmm, LL. They do! They have this portable tank size! :lmao:

I'm gonna let you in on a little secret. I look totally different than that previous picture. I'll post a pic after Jo leaves. I need to up my stalking abilities and if Jo doesn't know I look different, then I can surprise her at AK and give her a big ol' hug. (Cause you all know she's not a huggy kinda person!) :teeth:

I'll post a pic soon. ;) If you want to, I can give you my friends name. She owns her own salon in Downey, right across the street from the movie theater, on 3rd St., I think.
Good that you slept through the earthquake, do you get many?
We don't get many strong ones, but we do get little tremors 3.0-4.0's a few times a year. We have small ones almost daily, but not enough to notice.
So what colour did you decide on the hair?
It's a secret. You'll have wait until the 22nd. :cool2:

Thanks Tracy, let me know cuz my sister needs to get her done and she doesn't want to go to Carlton.

Tell me about it! I've been watching the weather to see if any tropical storms begin brewing which could turn into a hurricane. I'm on pins and needles right now with the darn weather.

Ooh I can't stand Walmart. I'd shop there if the stores out here were nice like out in the Midwest. Every try shopping there on a weekend? Ewwww!:scared:

GUESS WHO JUST MADE MY DAY??????

So I was lounging on the couch reading the latest celebrity rag and I thought I heard my cell phone ringing upstairs. I left it on my nightstand last night. D'OH! :headache: So I go up and grab it and it automatically rings into my voicemail. And what do I hear on the other end? "HEY TRACY!" Now as I already explained it the caller (when I called her back) it took me 2 times to register who it was and what she was talking about. You see this caller sounded exactly like a girl friend of mine and I was thinking, "What the heck is Rachel talking about?" The 2nd time around, it finally clicked who it was. Any guesses? It was my DIS buddy, Lauralee131!

Let me start by saying I already had an idea of what she sounded like, but now I can really put the face with the voice and poof! it was like talking to an old friend! :goodvibes She's so awesome and funny and I can't wait to meet her! ;) We talked and talked and kept interupting eachother, it was funny! I know it's gonna be a great time, with lots of laughs and fun stories, I really can't wait now! So, LL... thanks for making my day! LY,MI!

That was so sweet I couldn't get the smile off my face all day when I spoke to her :goodvibes

I'm a gettin' a little skerred about the Florida bidness. :faint:

Don't worry DLMama, just take V's advice and wear light clothing and bring lots of water and all should be well. Then pray for cloudy skies with no rain.

How fun! Ya know, I don't know you guys as well as you guys know each other, but it's so nice that love for Disney has sparked these kinds of things. :)

:scared1: OMG, I just saw that on CNN! Tell me honestly - does it all pretty much feel the same past 95ish, or is it so much worse over 100?

UGH...It's so much worse...yesterday it was 85 when I drove to work at 7:15am! I got out of my truck in the parking lot and felt like I had a 2nd layer of damp, thick skin on!! It was like my own personal scary Hannibal moment...:scared: The last couple of mornings on the way to work, the air vents in my truck were dripping with condensation while I was driving and the vents were blowing out like freezing cold steam...it was WEIRD!! And soooo visible...I could just imagine what people were thinking that were next to me at traffic lights!

Then it just got blazing hot throughout the day...I feel so bad for the guys on my jobsite working outside in it - tarring the roof, laying brick, etc...I don't know how they do it.

Hace' Sol!!! Hace' color!!

Ummmm...was that right Tracy?? I'm thinking back to 9th grade spanish...of course, I think I only went to class 4 or 5 times....

Oh, ouch! Up north here in your old stomping grounds, we had a pretty hot and humid start to the week, but at this moment it's 65 and raining, high today only 68... The boys were supposed to go on a beach field trip at day camp today - that's not happening!

I talked to a friend of mine in NH yesterday and it wasn't even 80 - he was wearing a long sleeve t-shirt:headache:

BUT - I will STILL take this heat over NH weather ANY TIME!!!!

It's been around 78-80 here. We haven't gotten a heat wave yet, which is odd. There's really not any humidity either. I'm a gettin' a little skerred about the Florida bidness.

Yeah, umm...THANKS....heluva time to plan a trip to FLORIDA...just sayin':rolleyes1

Excellent job on those 50lbs. I agree it is hard, but just remember, baby steps. You'll get there!

Way to go on the 50lbs...I've been doing WW for a year now and am STILL stuck at 20 lbs...:headache: I complained to my mother about it once and she pretty much said I was "naturally big boned and had child bearing hips"...

Just one more thing I'll have to work out in therapy Mommy...thanks!

She didn't even tell me that on the phone! It really IS a secret!!:ssst:

Tell me about it! I've been watching the weather to see if any tropical storms begin brewing which could turn into a hurricane. I'm on pins and needles right now with the darn weather.

They were just talking about hurricanes the last couple of days...upping the forecast for number of storms or something...GRRRRRRR...I hope it holds off for a few weeks!!

Ooh I can't stand Walmart. I'd shop there if the stores out here were nice like out in the Midwest. Every try shopping there on a weekend? Ewwww!

Our Wally World is like that too...Ewwwwwww....and it's MOBBED...I haven't been in there in MONTHS...and only if I absolutely HAVE TO.

'Course our K-Mart is the scariest thing you've ever seen...I don't know how it's still even open...it's like shopping in a crack house!:scared:

I never did get any it was just far to complicated, you can squirt me with yours and brag

Just remember you asked for it!!:cool2:

I NEVER go there on a weekend! Or the 1st or the 15th.

LY2!! Yep - kept interrupting each other...but I swear there was like a delay on the phone or something...think I had a similar thing with Jo on the phone...

Coincidence?? Or does that say something about ME???:rolleyes1

That was so sweet I couldn't get the smile off my face all day when I spoke to her :goodvibes
Me too my friend...me too...

Now I'll have to surprise V with a call and see if I interrupt her too...

Hey Tracy,

Thanks for the bump yesterday!!!

I'm really anxious to see what your new hairdo looks like!!! I bet it's georgous!!!! :thumbsup2

I've given all my Dis friends voices in my head. (I hope that didn't make me sound crazy :rolleyes1 ) I can't wait to see if your real voice matches the one I imagined! :goodvibes

I talked to a friend of mine in NH yesterday and it wasn't even 80 - he was wearing a long sleeve t-shirt:headache:

Yep, I'm in NH, too. I think it might have gone to about 73 yesterday, once the rain went away. I went with jeans, but kept the short-sleeved tee. :) It's supposed to be 85 again today, though, and 89 tomorrow.

I grew up in central IL, where the winters have a huge wind chill and some snow, so I figured I knew about winter. We're no Buffalo here, but I'm really not fond of the foot of snow every week or so. I used to LOVE snow. Ah, well. The temps don't seem to go as low, especially the wind chill, but... I see where you're coming from with the NC weather! Friends of ours actually moved from here to FL last month, and I thought, "Hmmmm." And yes, I know it's humid, but it is starting to sound better.
