Mentally Preparing: A Focker, A Croc & Waldo hit POFQ! Trip Report Link is UP!

#9:
Now, looking over our itinerary, I realize I booked us for breakfast @ the Crystal Palace on our last day at 8am. Our flight leaves at 2pm, and ME will pick us up around 11 am. Is this wise? Would 2.5 hrs. be enough time to eat, take some Photopass pictures, buy the photopass CD and make it back to the POFQ by 10:30am? What if we're tired? What if, what if, what if? We'll have 1 TS left and if we had scored free dining, I wouldn't have minded not using it, but since I'm paying for dining, we're using ALL our credits, baby!
So just in case, I made a back-up ADR for Boatwrights for breakfast on our last day. Then we can either boat over to DTD for some last minute shopping before we head back to LA.
I like this idea - good to have choices!

I've been reading Dining reviews on Hollywood & Vine, and I have to admit, I'm a little weary about our breakfast there. Yes, they have the Little Einsteins, Evan's favorites characters, but they can always meet the Leo and June on the Mickey Avenue, yes? I'm waiting for V to dine there and based on her experience and recommendation, I'll either keep it or toss it.
I'm happy to be your guinea pig! (Which, as we know, is neither Italian nor a member of the rcine family. LY LL!;) ) AND, my ADR is for 11:20am. "Lunch" begins at 11:40pm. So I may just get a little Bfast AND lunch out of this! :thumbsup2

For me that is just to close for comfort.Ive heard that is is hard to get from POFQ to MK for early brkfst due to the bus sched. ANd what if the busses are late returning? Then what if you dont get seated right away? You are going to feel like you are choking down your food and the kids cant fully enjoy the characters. what if lets say tigger is a few tables away and you are running late? then on the last day you have to tell the kiddies sorry no tigger. I have never eaten at Boatrights, but that sounds like the better plan to me.JMO, I hate to rush.

If your worried about food thats one thing, but if its characters(both my boys LOVE Little Einsteins) we saw Leo,June and Quincy on Mickey Ave. Annie was there too but be didnt have time to wait for her.

FYI---Backups are our friend baybeeee!!!

I'm waiting for V to dine there and based on her experience and recommendation, I'll either keep it or toss it. Well, in place of H&V, I've booked a back-up lunch at Mama Melrose. Tomato and Mozzarella is my favorite salad, so Mama's it is! :thumbsup2

Can I weigh in here? We loved Play & Dine at Hollywood and Vine. It was our first meal of our trip and set the tone soooo well. We had one of the first seatings (8:05). The food was hot and yummy. Bacon, sausage, potatoes, Mickey waffles, eggs, fresh fruit, etc, etc. We had a front table, right where the characters danced. We saw June, Leo, JoJo & Goliath. It was perfect! So my vote is to keep it! :goodvibes

At the advice of DIS friend, LexMelinda, I read the recent TR installment of Zzub and his "experience" at Teppanyaki. :scared: Let's just say, his evening at Epcot was spent touring the restrooms of World Showcase. So with this knowledge and knowing what a sensitive stomach Daisy has, I made a back-up ADR for the 29th. Since I plan on booking an Illuminations Cruise for that night, I thought we'd try Spoodles, which is at the Boardwalk. I've read some decent reviews and I love Mediterreanian food, so I thought we'd try it. :confused3 Let's see, that's ADR change #8, in case you're keeping track.

I never tell anyone that I'm making changes, I just do it. Well, DH saw me frantically scribbling in my lime notebook and looking at our Daily WDW Itinerary, so he asked what I was changing. I started with "Well, I made back-up ADR's for this, this and this..... yada yada yada." Bwhahahahaha!!! He was so sorry he asked!!! :lmao:

No way, you heard about someone getting sick off Teppanyaki? I knew I should've booked us at Marrakesh, shoot.:headache: Maybe I should make a back up ADR too. Damian wants Japanese and this trip iiiis his grad gift - might have to put my foot down on this one though.

Want my 2 cents on H&V? Well, I'm gonna give it to you anyway. In the words of Randy Jackson, I thought it was just aahight dog. I wouldn't say it was horrible - something along the lines of Hometown, KWIM?

I had to laugh at your husband for asking you anything about the itinerary. Hasn't he learned by now that he's going to get an ear full?:rotfl2: I now when someone asks me a question about my trip they immediately look like they regret having asked. Oh well!

Hey, did you notice we're almost in double digits?????

I almost ALWAYS make back-up ADRs (particularly this last time when traveling with extended family)--ya just never know when the "too much togetherness" thing wears thin.........actually I do know.......around Day 2!:lmao:
Yeah, I hear that. I've only planned to have "family time" for our TS ADR's. All other meals, everyone is one their own!! :lmao:
I do want to try Mama Melrose, as it was on our ADR list last time, but we ended up cancelling it.

DM-
We eat at H&V every year and this last time we went for breakfast. I really was not impressed and I wasn't to thrilled about having to get up early for it. Maddie was not too into it either. She just wanted the characters to leaver her alone so she could color.:rotfl: I think she was character-mealed out at that point.
You know Maddie is more interested in Princesses, than anything else, and my experience with Evan last year, was he didn't like the characters coming up to him. He enjoys them from afar!! :sad2:
I'm happy to be your guinea pig! (Which, as we know, is neither Italian nor a member of the rcine family. LY LL!;) ) AND, my ADR is for 11:20am. "Lunch" begins at 11:40pm. So I may just get a little Bfast AND lunch out of this! :thumbsup2
Have you ever seen the show on the Travel Channel, called Bizarre Foods? Maddie and I love that show and the host was traveling through Ecuador, and they eat guinea pigs! You pick it out of a box and they skin it and BBQ for you, table side!!! :scared: I thought of you and LL when I saw that episode!!

For me that is just to close for comfort.Ive heard that is is hard to get from POFQ to MK for early brkfst due to the bus sched. ANd what if the busses are late returning? I thought about that, and that particular morning is AM EMH, so I assume the buses will be running a full fleet that AM. I do think it would be nicer to have a leisure breakfast, sleep in a bit, and head to DTD for those last minute purchases before heading to MCO! :thumbsup2

Of course, you can... all opinions welcome! :goodvibes I'm worried about our ADR time being at 10:30. Will we get gross filmed over food?? :confused

I know Evan likes the Einsteins, but does he like them in his face?
Would he like to eat at that place?
Would he eat there with a fox? :lmao: Just kidding, I got all Dr. Seuss on ya, didn't I?:lmao:

No way, you heard about someone getting sick off Teppanyaki?
Way!! He got the fo' shizzles! Not pretty! :scared1:

I knew I should've booked us at Marrakesh, shoot.:headache: Maybe I should make a back up ADR too. Damian wants Japanese and this trip iiiis his grad gift - might have to put my foot down on this one though.
I'd book Marrakesh as a backup, just sayin' ;)

Want my 2 cents on H&V? Well, I'm gonna give it to you anyway. In the words of Randy Jackson, I thought it was just aahight dog. I wouldn't say it was horrible - something along the lines of Hometown, KWIM?
Oh, no!!! Are you kidding?? We are not fans of Hometown, except for Maddie. She loves HT!! :scared:
The kids had dentists appointments a few weeks ago and DH told Maddie that she could pick whatever restaurant she wanted to go to if she was cavity free. Well, she was. And guess where she picked? Yup... HT!! I thought for sure she'd pick Olive Garden, as that's her fav, but she didn't! :sad2:

Hey, did you notice we're almost in double digits?????
I KNOW!!!! :cool1:

I do want to try Mama Melrose, as it was on our ADR list last time, but we ended up cancelling it.

I want to try it eventually too...I always book it, then end up reading bad reviews and cancelling...:sad2: I'm such a slave to peer pressure!

Oh ok.....EEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWW:scared:

I can always count on you for good lunch time reading...

Ok, so this morning I did it.....

I made the call.....

to my TA.....

And.....

I PAID MY TRIP OFF IN FULL!!!! :cool1: CAN I GET A WITNESS?? CAN I GIT A WHAT WHAT???? :woohoo:

The best part......

DH has no clue!!! ;)

So for those of you who don't know or who don't read LL's pre-TR... first of all, shame on you!! Go read it now. She's got lots of funny!! Second of all, there's been a change of plans. Or additional plans have been made. Well, Lauralee's DH, Tony and DisneyJo's DH, David were to golf on the day of our (their female counterparts) girls night. Well, my DH and Waldo were invited, but I really didn't want to do that to David and Tony, but Waldo really wants to golf a Disney course and of course DH likes to golf, so David and Tony's twosome has turned into a foursome. Fourplay?? Whatever you call it... the 4 of the men folk are playing golf.
So that being said, LL asks if us chicks (or is it we chicks) should get together for some girl/kiddie time? V votes for pool time, so does Jo and LL. :scared: Not that I don't want to hang with them at the pool. I just don't want what hangs outta my bathing suit there with us. :lmao: Now I have no problem sitting in a lounge chair at my resort amongst perfect strangers. Who cares right? You're never going to see them again, so let it all out, right? Well, these are my friends, internet, never meet before friends, but friends none the less. In fact, I think they know me better than my real friends. There's something about making friends on the internet that's way different than making friends in the "real world". It's more intimate and I feel like you really get to know a person. Well, that's how I feel about these girls. Have you ever chatted with someone on the boards or on the internet and you just click? Well, there you go.
Ok, so where was I? Oh yes.... :scared: pool time. I guess the pool meet will just be my motivation to not eat that cookie or bowl of ice cream!! :rotfl: Anyway, so I grab my itinerary outta my little green folder and do a little switching around. I had us at MGM on Saturday, so I'll have to squeeze MGM in somewhere else. I cancel out 1 MK morning, as I think we can tackle that park with 1 AM EMH and 1 2pm-closing day. There's not much at MK that really interests us, as alot of it is similar to Dland. I'm hoping we can get MGM done with 1 PM visit and 1 AM visit. Most of our time is being spent at Epcot. :rolleyes1 (Yeah, it's my favorite park)
So, since we won't be at MGM on the 25th, then we won't need our Mama Melrose ADR, right? But we will need to use up a TS in place of that one. Hmmmm.... what to do....:scratchin:
I read somewhere that AK would be opening a new TS & CS in Asia this summer. I'm hoping before August 23rd, as that's our AK day and I thought I'd book us an ADR for lunch at the new restaurant. I think it's going to be called Yak & Yeti, but I could be wrong.:confused3 So, as a back up, I made an ADR for Mama Melrose for lunch on 8/28. You know, just in case! :upsidedow
Guess what came in the mail today??? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Ok, I suppose I'll spill..... my chocolate Mary Jane CROCS!!! :yay: I was sooo excited!! I pulled them outta the box and threw them on. I'm in heaven!!:cloud9: They are soooo comfy!! I've had them on most of the day whilst I ran errands today... Costco, Target, Home Depot.... and my little piggies are happy as clams!

P.S. Lisa, Costco has the cutest little girl 2 piece shorts outfits!! It took all I had not to buy one for Maddie. :guilty:

I PAID MY TRIP OFF IN FULL!!!! :cool1: CAN I GET A WITNESS?? CAN I GIT A WHAT WHAT????

:cheer2: :cheer2: Congratulations! That is a GREAT feeling! I LOVE having things paid off before I actually go--FREEDOM!

Were you able to book an ADR? I could see the area where it would be last month but not much there. We could have used one since the park was open till 11 some nites. Let us know what you think!

Congrats on getting that sucker paid off! That is the best feeling!:cool1:

I love how Disney lets you put your vacay on layaway! :rotfl:

Fourball? Four Ball?? :confused3

So that being said, LL asks if us chicks (or is it we chicks) should get together for some girl/kiddie time? V votes for pool time, so does Jo and LL.

Majority rules, Queenie...Be there or be square!

Not that I don't want to hang with them at the pool. I just don't want what hangs outta my bathing suit there with us.

You kill me!!:lmao: Oh yeah, like the rest of us won't be hangin and floppin too!!:rolleyes1

Now I have no problem sitting in a lounge chair at my resort amongst perfect strangers.

Well, they don't get much stranger than US!!:rotfl2:

Love you, mean it!!!:grouphug:

Ok, so where was I? Oh yes.... :scared: pool time. I guess the pool meet will just be my motivation to not eat that cookie or bowl of ice cream!! :rotfl:

I am there with ya Sista! It's like getting ready for your upcoming reunion...the pressure of looking good for one stinkin' weekend!! Who am I kidding...I'm thinking of taking in TWO Weight Watchers meetings a week now!

Anyway, so I grab my itinerary outta my little green folder and do a little switching around. I had us at MGM on Saturday, so I'll have to squeeze MGM in somewhere else. Again I can't believe that we won't be in the same park!! We'll be at MGM at least the full day of the 26th but we usually hit it twice a visit, so I'll have to check my 'holes' out in the calendar...Michael NEEDS his Star Tours fix!!

I read somewhere that AK would be opening a new TS & CS in Asia this summer. I'm hoping before August 23rd, as that's our AK day and I thought I'd book us an ADR for lunch at the new restaurant. :thumbsup2 I would expect nothing less of you!!

Cool! I'm going to get myself a 2nd pair...(at least)...I love mine. I've been converted...want to get the flips too I think....they seemed comfy at the store...

Hmmmmmm...I miss V already, don't you?:guilty:

Sooo, i was excited to see a new restaurant in Asia so I decided to check this out myself. And, in my research, I came across something on Intercot from the 24th saying that "Dining Cast have reported that the Yak & Yeti Restaurant is tentatively scheduled to open Early October 2007." Hope it's not true for your sake. The pictures still show it heavily under construction, though.

Thought you'd like to know.

You paid off the trip...
Don't let him give you no lip...
You paid off the trip...
Now you're floatin' on through like a ship...

(I don't rhyme so good...)

Thanks!! I can't wait to tell DH it's paid for. But I think I will wait. Until July! :rotfl:

Not yet, but I'm keeping my eyes and ears open!
Congrats on getting that sucker paid off! That is the best feeling!:cool1:
I love how Disney lets you put your vacay on layaway! :rotfl:
I know!! I was doing the math and if you have a Disney VISA, you can use that and get an additional 6 months to pay off your trip if you pay using that card at the 45 day mark! Just food for thought! :scratchin:

Ok, first off.....awwwwwwww:hug: LOVE YOU!
Ditto, my friend, ditto!

Fourball? Four Ball?? :confused3
Uh oh... there it goes... mind to gutter, again!! :rolleyes1

I started working out 2x a day, starting yesterday!!! :rotfl2: Good thing about cellulite, once you tan it, it kinda goes away. I get uber dark in the summer, thank God!! :scared:

Hmmmmmm...I miss V already, don't you?:guilty:
Yeah, I she usually posts in the AM before I do, so I always have something to play off of. Today.... I got nothin'! :sad2:

I'm going to try really hard to try to meet up with your and the girls for at least a couple Lapus - with family coming along on this trip it may be somewhat of challenge but I'll do my best!:)

Darn it, I was at Costco this weekend and didn't have time to look at the clothes. I'll try again on my next shopping trip.:)

Well, that's how I feel about these girls. Have you ever chatted with someone on the boards or on the internet and you just click? Well, there you go.
Do you know I speak more to you guys than my best friends and sister!

AK would be opening a new TS & CS in Asia this summer. I'm hoping before August 23rd, as that's our AK day and I thought I'd book us an ADR for lunch at the new restaurant
I heard it would be open in August too, just a bit too spicey for us!

Oh, I'll be there, and I'm bringing my thunder buns!! :lmao:
Right I put all those quotes together to make you remember who will have already had 12 days of DDP :scared1: And I don't go lovely and brown like you Tracy so every lump and bump will show

Thanks, Lisa! I really hope you meet with us for a drink! :)
I didn't but Maddie an outfit and when I told DH about them, he asked why didn't I. :confused3 So, guess where I'm going tonight??? :lmao:
I vote for big sarongs :thumbsup2
I second that.... maybe tents, even! :lmao:

I heard it would be open in August too, just a bit too spicey for us!
Here's what I got from allears:

The new restaurant currently under construction in Animal Kingdom's Asia will be named Yak and Yeti. To fit in with Anandapur, the fictional village that is home to Expedition Everest, the restaurant will be themed as a rural village in the Himalayan foothills. The pan-Asian establishment will house both a table service restaurant that seats 300 and a quick-service eatery that can hold 200 customers. The restaurant was announced in February 2006, and is set to open in July 2007.

Jo, pan-Asian isn't spicy!

She sent such a sweet little PM before she left, pop quiz Tracy what film was the title from? :rotfl2:

Carp!! Is it Mary Poppins or the Van Trapp movie.... ugh!!! I can't remember the name!!!:headache:
