men wearing capris

I don't know. I'd have to see it to be sure. (Just can't picture it! LOL!) But here's something I'm REALLY sure about! These are the ugliest pants I've seen in a LOOOOONG time!

They are currently on the Ralph Lauren website! ummmm....hello! CLOWN PANTS! LOL!

(And is rolling up the pants coming back in style?:scared1: )

We see them a lot here on the Cape

It's a casual look for men here on the Cape to wear Capri length pants especially on the beach at night or at the yacht club.

My DH tried some on (didn't buy them though I think he was waiting for a reaction from me),while we were shopping this summer so it won't be long before he's wearing them too.

I think they look better on taller, slim size men same as woman. If your short and hefty they make you look more so.

I think, like most styles, they look fine on some guys, but not on everyone. Like the stirrup pants women used to wear, they looked OK on some women, and awful on others.

First it's the purse, then capri's, what's next, a man wearing a bra?

I saw a guy in Home Depot yesterday with capris on and they were UGLY!
They were once tight fitting jeans an he had cut them off to about mid calf. Then he slit them up to the knee. He had socks and sneakers on too. It was one of the worst looks I had seen in a long time. He had on a tight fitting t-shirt too. He tried to cut in line in front of me with his measly box of nails.
I straightened him out though, I had a flatcart full of kitchen cabinets and I was not going to let anyone cut in front of me.

I loved my stirrup pants. I was tall and couldn't find tall pants often. So if I wore stirrups the elastic would pull them down and keep them in my boots, or I'd wear my colored scrunch socks over them, hehe.

Do you mean a 'bro'?

To me (man in capris)=(candidate for a [metaphorical] beatin')

Was he carrying his wife's leftovers also?:rotfl2:

Men wore them throughout history, I believe they were called pirates.;) :rotfl2:

My cousin and her DH visited from Germany this year and her DH had a couple pairs of these. I figured it was a European thing. I haven't seen any around here. Personally, I don't really like the way they look on guys and my DH would never even look at them let alone buy a pair and wear them.

A family friend recently visited from Spain and he was wearing them. He is a gorgeous blue-eyed blonde 23-year old, and I have to say, they suited him. I tend to agree that this trend is probably a European thing.

However, I would die laughing if my conservative finance guy husband wore them. Seriously, I would be howling. :rotfl2:

OH NO!! I make my husband carry my leftovers....and if he's not there, my son(s) are forced too!

:rotfl:

No kidding, the only thing worse than a man wearing capri's is a man wearing overalls *shudder*

 Overalls on a man fall into my "hideous" category as well. You have given me the heebie geebies.

I think my uncle wore those (at least in khaki colors) in the 50s - they called them "clamdiggers."

Maybe it's a coastal thing.

Saw it, a bunch of guy's at Universal in 2005 had them on. Don't like it either I think they look silly. My DH said "Don't even think of buying me those things!!!"

They are popular for men in Europe...my son is in Ireland now and is seeing them, and when we had friends from Ireland come they did bring them as well. I don;t see them catching on here, at least I hope not!

I agree with the European thing too. The men we saw at Universal were Brazilian. But I am seeing it more now in our area!:rotfl2: Kohl's actually had them in the men's dept. because I held them up to my DH and said "ohhhh you want a pair?" He wasn't amused.
