men wearing capris

My DH calls them "Manpris". He doesn't own any. Nor will I buy them for him. Nuff said.

I wonder where you purchase such a thing. This was my first sighting.
The thing is if men were comfortable with it and it became popular they would love capris. They're so practical. They can look professional while giving some of the cooling feel of shorts.

:scared1: I can't imagine it makes their hairy, chicken calves look any better.

Photos please! LOL! :)

Were they the baggy skateboard type pants that come just below the knees or true capris???

Ummmmmm NO. If my husband put on a pair of capris I wouldn't be able to help myself - I'd point and laugh.

No thank You, YUCK, just yuck.

Will they wear black socks with those?

ok just asked one of my sons. We have a large summer foreign worker population. He claims it is popular among the young russian guys to sport capris and mullets right now. So it may be that this is what I saw.

I believe the correct term for these -manpri's- is: "Shants" - shorts/pants.

Thats what my son calls his really long shorts:

Shants

Too short for pants, too long for shorts. Shants

Okay...I admit I bought a pair for my DH, he really doesn't like shorts and this summer Calgary got warmer than usual and I saw them at one of the stores here. He likes them, he looks good in them I have no problem with them.

Like these?

Or like the fitted kind that women wear? (these in the pic are kind of *in between*.) I've seen the really big & baggy kind and just thought their shorts were too big. :lmao:

I've always said men should carry a purse too but after this pic on the left, I'm rethinking that idea:

I haven't seen anyone do this in Iowa, that's for sure.

I see it on TV and it looks like trendy casual resort wear, very South Beach. On the right guy it looks cool and hip. Others, no so much. I personally love capri pants and see no reason for guys not to wear them too.

women do hold the key to what their men wear don't they. So if we all bought our dh's capris and crocs they'd wear them.

DS (10YO) has 2 pair. One a regular cargo short type pair, and one is a nylon-y beach pant type. He LOVES them.

A lot of DS's English Soccer coaches wear them as well. But they're sporty, not really tailored

DH is vehemently opposed. :lmao:

not at all like these. I have skater/surfer sons. Those shorts are normal. I mean fitted khaki ones with an oxford shirt.

I admit I like the manpri look. Maybe because they are usually on an attractive, fit (think metrosexual) man.

To me it screams confidence which is very sexy.

Yummy.

If they really look like capris (and not just the long baggy cargo shorts men wear now), then it seems to me that 90% of the time the man is European. Usually I'll even listen for him to talk so I can see if he has an accent. Of the few men I've seen in them who haven't been European, they have all been either outdoorsy hiker types or metrosexuals.
