Men and crocs

Now, my own personal complaint is that I wear a size 12 shoe. I need the XXL in the Beach style, and unfortunately, they don't make that size in the Mickey Head Style!

You think that is bad?! My DH wears a size 13. He can't get Mickey Crocs either. He has a pair of navy Beach and a pair of khaki Caymans. He slips them on a soon as he comes home.
He is diabetic and has gotten the stamp of approval from both his diabetic doc and diabetes educator.
Unfortunately, his boss won't let him wear them to work.:rolleyes1
He makes a statement with Jibbitz. His favorite is Tigger and the red white and blue ribbon for supporting our troops (he is ex-Navy).
He wears what he likes and to heck with the fashion police!

I'm an OR nurse, and several male surgeons wear them as well as quite a few male nurses and techs...so to me , they don't look weird on a guy at all. Also, Crocs makes a rugged looking model that looks quite masculine. The model is called "Off Road"

Absolutely! :thumbsup2 And yeah, the Mickey Croc size thing really stinks!

Crocs my be comfortable, and purses may be convienent, but men just don't wear them.

I bought a pair of red Mickey crocs on my last trip to WDW. They are by far the most comfortable shoes for running around the house and the neighborhood. I just finished my basement and after sheet rocking all I had to do was rinse my crocs and they looked like new. My wife is a teacher and a fellow male teacher in her high school wear crocs to teach in. A friend who is an RN wears them at the hospital for comfort and cleanabiltiy. Don't be a wuss. REAL MEN WEAR CROCS!!!!!!!!:cool1:

Yes, men look silly, but I think everyone except little girls look silly in Crocs(and even then only the Mary Janes are what could be possibly termed as cute-my DD has a purple pair ;))
If you want to wear them, wear them-you will be far from the only one.:thumbsup2

I have to say I did try them on, and while I would never buy them for myself, I wanted to feel that most comfortable shoe EVER feeling..nope, didn't feel all that comfy to me at all.:confused3

I've seen plenty of men wearing Crocs. So what? :confused3 Wear what's comfortable. If other people don't like the way they look, it's their problem.

Wear your Crocs, smile, be comfy and have a magical time at WDW. :)
Damn right. I'm on my feet all day at work and wear mine each day. My boss gives me crap - mostly because of the Mickey head holes - but I'm comfortable so he can goto hell :)

To be honest, I never realized men wearing crocs was an issue. News to me.

I agree crocs are ugly...... that being said I have 2 pair.... my kids each have a pair and my DH has a pair. I live in mine!!!! They are the most comfortable shoes!!! I usually have to buy arch supports for my shoes.... with crocs I don't.

Wear your crocs! :)

My boyfriend has two pairs of Crocs (one being black and the other bright orange).

A large number of male celebrities wear Crocs including Mario Batalli, George W. Bush, Hugh Grant, etc.

ok, so here is a question. I bought a pair of black crocs a few months back. I have never really worn them out, being a guy and usually wearing sneakers when I wear shorts.

I was just wondering what everyone thought about guys wearing them. I really like them, they are comfortable and i like knowing that they wont get soaked in wdw downpours or water rides. However, I feel funny wearing them cause they do have a diff. look than just a sneaker.

So im asking if people think men look silly in them, and also if there are any men out there who wear their crocs to the parks.

thanks

I just got my crocs and they're GREAT! They are the most comfortable shoe I have ever had.

OK, I have a question concerning crocs. My sister just bought me a pair of Mickey Crocs for my birthday. I am a little hesitant about wearing them to the Parks because I have always thought of them as ugly, ugly and more ugly. My present feeling about them has not changed...they are still ugly but they are also relatively comfortable.

Now for the question...since I am new to the Croc wearing scene, what is the proper way to wear them, with or without socks. I am not adverse to not wearing socks it's just that I am concerned that having those shoes rub on my skin all day will cause some problems. If its alright to wear socks, what type should they be angle height, regular sweat socks or what? Frankly wearing socks does make anyone look nerdy but at 59 I am pretty much past that concern and Crocs are ugly enough that socks are not going to make them worse.

So what is everyone's opinion. :confused3

REAL men don't decide what to wear or not wear based on whether they'll get the approval of the fashion police. We are comfortable enough in our manhood to not care what anyone else thinks!

To answer the OP's questions:
Yes, people think men look silly in Crocs. People also think men look silly wearing hats with goofy ears or shirts with a big cartoon mouse on them.
Yes, men wear Crocs to WDW. We certainly aren't a majority, but there are a lot more of us wearing Crocs in WDW than anywhere else in public. So you will not be alone.

Personally, if I can walk around the parks all day long without pain instead of having my feet killing me by lunchtime, I don't give a #%&*$% what anyone thinks about how they look.

Good answer! And so very true! If we women only had it that easy!

I agree they are very ugly. I found myself in a dilema, seeing all the posts about how great they are and knowing how ridiculous they look on most guys.

I did some research and found that there are actually a couple of pairs of man crocs out there. I found a pair of chocalte / khaki sandels sobeks that dont even look like crocs. Found them at Dicks sporting goods. I bought them this week for our trip last month and love them.

Here is a link for the sobeks

I have had several folks ask what they are and when I tell them they are crocs they dont believe me. I think the folks at crocs are coming around and starting to develop some nice looking shoes.

Ok I admit it I have become that guy. I have a minivan spend my vacations at DW and wear crocs.

Well, we just got back from WDW last month. It poured rain the first two days of our trip and both pairs of tennis shoes I had were soaked through. So I decided to break down and buy a set of crocs. I did have a few concerns about wearing them as a guy, but my wife assured me she would still love me, so I went looking for a pair. I happened to be outside of POTC and saw the black pirate themed ones. Now, if there is ever a masculine version of these shoes, I ask you, what could possibly be more macho than a size XXL Black pair with skulls and cutlasses all over them? So, I bought them and was much more comfortable the rest of my trip. I have since worn them all over the house and even out on errands on occasion. The comfort far outways any stigma on their appearance.
I would recommend them for any guy going to WDW, or anyone on their feet alot period.

It is no surprise that most people wearing crocs are overweight. Also, I find it disgusting that people working in a supposedly "sterile" environment will wear an open toe, or open heeled shoe.

crocs are a fad, like soap on a rope, or jellies sandals. In 5 years you won't be able to give a pair away.

I considered this same topic and cannot give Crocs a try. I think men look silly with them on. I went for the next best thing for comfort. I bought a pair of Sperry Santa Cruz flip flops and wore them to WDW. I brougth my Nike walking shoes as well just in case. I never put the shoues on and stuck with the flip flops....they were extemenly comfortable and less of a stretch for me.

I am all about comfort and could care less what other think of how I look. I have yet to pull the trigger on the Crocs, but I do have Keen sandles. They dont look so great, but feet feel great.

Crocs look daft on all but small children.

When my daughters were babies they wore nappies/dipers. They were very comfortable (if changed often) and looked cute.

Adults - you look silly in crocs!
