Men and Crocs

Guys, do any of you actually wear these things?

  • sure do, wouldn't leave the resort without them.

  • No way, I wouldn't be caught dead out in public wearing them.

Results are only viewable after voting.
So so far it's 89 who say yes to wearing them, and 60 that say no. In spite of this, let me assure you that MOST men at WDW do not wear these things. I have a feeling that a good deal of the voting on here has not been by men. I guess you know how I voted. :)

Of course not. There aren't any shoes that "MOST" men wear. Unless you are talking about a general type of shoe like athletic shoes.
But you are a lot more likely to see men wearing Crocs at WDW than anywhere else. So if any guys want to try them, but don't want to be the only guys wearing them, WDW is the ideal place to give them a try.

YES!!!:cool1:
I just checked out the Pirates Crocs and they carry them in my size (Men's XXL)
I still don't understand why they don't carry the regular Disney Crocs in that size, but the Pirates are even cooler.

they are truly the worst footwear ever invented - absolutely disgusting and i think they look ridiculous on everyone, even more so men !!!

have you ever actually tried on a pair or gone to the Crocs website and noticed that they make more than just clogs? ;)

When we were at WDW in February, my family and I had a game of "Counting the Crocs". The park with the highest number of croc wearers was Magic Kingdom -- the number there was more than twice the number worn at the other parks.

That said, less than 5% of those wearing crocs were male adults.

(And yes, this is one thing we did for fun while waiting in lines.)

no i haven't, i just hate the look of them.

thats like me saying i hate mercedes benz cars, and you saying to me 'but have you ever driven one?'

it still does not change my mind, i hate the look of them !!!

crocs are unstylish and unflattering, theres too much dumbing down of style and these 'efforts' just take it one step too far !!!

honestly if i see a man wearing them i will laugh to myself, i dont see an issue for women or children, i just think that for guys they are stupid !!!

Umm..ok..I have no idea what you meant by the section I have bolded above...but other than that...that's fine..you're entitled to an opinion...

Ok, let's compare:

And y'all think the first ones are more unflattering than the second?

btw, mill4023, did you get my PM?

I don't think I could get my husband to wear the clogs but I think he might go for the flip flops. I just wonder how practical they'd be for WDW. Seems like they might be hard to keep on and what do you do on rides?

He loves them, has 2 pairs, blue and his lovely Nebraska Huskers ones. He can't wear them to work, works for the city and has to be in boots, but pretty much everywhere else! :wizard:

what 2girlsmom says......my back does not hurt while wearing them....plus they breathe to help prevent the dreaded foot sweat problem....:surfweb:

Just my 2 cents ... luv 'em ... absolutely LUV 'EM!!!
At first (several years ago) I was REAL reluctant ... don't blame other guys for that feeling. But I got a pair (of low profile beige) along with the rest of my family. Well ... on that trip to WDW I started doing the sneaker thing but became a true croc convert. The rest is history ... I own screamin' purple and bought a pair of closed in brown and wore them most of this past winter. It's just about time for my family to get their next supply ... can't say enough about their comfort! :cloud9:

I posted early on in this thread that Crocs do not seem to offer me enough arch support (and I've given them a very fair chance!) In doing some research I've read on the Net that a good number of podiatrists recommend Crocs. However, arch support is their one complaint - the company seems to have minimized this aspect of their shoes as to make them more widely popular. One podiatrist mentioned (in a 2006 posting) that Crocs told him they were working on a shoes with additional arch support. Did it ever come out? Others have made mention of adding inserts for arch support, which makes Crocs very comfortable for those with arch issues.

In addition to posting this information, I also have a question. Many recommend Brooks "Addiction" line of walking and running shoes (they have both models in this line) for the ultimate in tennis/gym shoe comfort. Does anyone have a recommendation or experience with these? I have an old pair of Brooks running shoes and although in bought them in 2001, they still feel like I'm walking on a cloud... Perhaps it's time I bought some of their Addiction shoes?
