Men and Crocs

Guys, do any of you actually wear these things?

  • sure do, wouldn't leave the resort without them.

  • No way, I wouldn't be caught dead out in public wearing them.

Here's the deal. After reading so much about Crocs on here, I decided to go out and get some for my upcoming trip. My question is do very many men wear these god awful looking sandels? I understand they are comfortable and what not. But, I'm just not sure I can be seen out in public wearing these. Fellas, convince me to wear my Crocs.

I'm not a fella but I got a pair for DH. He mostly wears them in the house and the hotel rooms on our trips. He did wear them once to Ohana at night. :snooty:

BTW, we went to a Walmart before our cruise and DH spotted an older gent wearing a pair of glaring orange crocs. I told him, "see you're not the only one who owns a pair." We did spot some men wearing them. I say wear what feels comfortable to you.

You sound just like my DH did last year - that was before he endured a week of blisters and sore feet.

We saw lots of men wearing them last year! They really are everywhere.

Have you looked at the new more manly version they have at Dick's this year? DH is getting a pair!! :goodvibes

I'm not a guy, but I gotta tell you that I think crocs are the dumbest looking shoe EVER!!! Well, maybe suitable for kiddies--but for a grownup man or woman....nahhhhh. And, before anyone asks, I have tried them on and agree that they feel good on the foot--but then again, so do my Nike's and no one mistakes me for Minnie Mouse.:)

They are very comfortable. I have a friend that has Ohio State crocs and he wore them in WDW. My DBF has a pair of navy blue ones and they actually don't look that bad on him. He also thinks that they are comfortable and plans to bring them on our trip. He doesn't wear them much now, but he has morerecently.

My husband said he would not wear them as they were ugly. Then the other day at Dick's Sports he discovered the Croc Slides and tried them on and liked them as he said they did not look like girly shoes. I can't tell you how well they will work in the parks. Go to Shoe.buy and enter: Crocs Scutes, which is the name of the slide. Good Luck! :goodvibes

When I set out to buy crocs for my family..my hubby said NO WAY for him :(

I bought mine and my kids' and told him he'd be the only one worrying about blisters in WDW.

The next night I dozed off on the couch waiting for him to get home from work, I woke up to the sound of him coming in and I couldn't believe my eyes! He had bright green crocs on!!! And get this...he bought 4 jibbitz for them too!!!!

He is now a croc fan..lol

He wears them everywhere!

Well..I'm 6'4" and used to play ice hockey so I'm far from some metrosexual girly man and I've got two pairs of Crocs. I felt the same way as all guys do when they see Crocs. There is no way you're going to get me to put those things on my feet. Then I tried on a pair. It's like flippin' heaven. I've now got two pair (but my old is ready to be retired) and can't wait to get more. I don't mind the styling of the Beach/Cayman line and want something more masculine go for the "Off-Road" (I did). If you can't stand the clog look I would go for some Scutes/Athens/Crete.

More than anything I would suggest to go to your local Dick's Sporting Good/Moddel's/whatever and just try them on. Walk around in them. Not every shoe is going to be perfect for every person and you may not even like them right away but you will come around if you give yourself the chance. Look past the styling and just think about the comfort.

DW and I both have crocs. mine have all the air holes in them (top and sides) DW's crocs are solid(no holes) her feet hurt after a few hrs at a theme park in Ohio. my feet never hurt. wore the crocs and the water park and walking the park. my feet were great. we are both getting new crocs before we leave for WDW!!!!!!!

I have to post on behalf of my soon to be DH. He hated the way they looked, he made fun of me, he swore he would never wear a pair... then he saw the the "off road" crocs and for some reason felt they weren't as ugly as the rest. He now eats his words bc he loves them. It is one of those things where you will never understand how great they are until you try them.....

The best advice would be for you to go to http://www.crocs.com and view all the different styles there are and see which one best suits you. They do have many different styles and there is sure to be one that you would feel comfortable wearing.

Blessed Be,
Tina

We just bought some for our trip and DH got a nice pair of non-girly looking ones for himself, although the color selection was a little limited. I wouldn't let him get black ones (because I didn't want to listen to the griping about how hot his feet were.) Anyway, it's Disney, nobody looks good. Might as well be comfy.

Forgot to mention, I was one of those no way no how people until a few weeks ago. Last year I got blisters the size of quarters on the balls of my feet... on day one. It was miserable. So I figured better to deal with looking silly than be in agony the whole trip from blisters. I gotta admit, I love em now, and wear em all around the house.

Voted yes on the poll, but have not tried them yet. I will be wearing a pair this year for the 1st time, based on the ravings and recommendations I have received about them. I really hope they are as comfortable as everyone says they are.

I'm a Murse (male Nurse) and those are the MOST comfprtable things to wear at work...every one loves my mickey crocs!

Grew up with hippies wearing Birkenstocks never owned them, never will. Crokenstocks are the same thing IMHO just made out of rubber. Pair of New Balance shoes fits me just fine. Could care less what others were, just have no desire or need for them.

I have a pair of the Mickey Red/Black crocs, and absolutely love them! I wear them pretty much everyday!

The other day me and three friends went out to lunch, and I had on my mickey crocs and a Grumpy and Dopey shirt, and my one friend said "did Michael Eisner buy you for advertising on Ebay?"..

I just loved putting him in his place and saying "...actually, Eisner has been gone for years, it's Bob Iger..."

Of course then I felt like even more of a Disney nerd, but oh well..lol

My wife and son love their crocs, as well, btw....

jeff.
