So Memory Maker... what are your opinions?

We are a family of 4 (me, DH, DS4, DD1), traveling with my parents. Our tickets and rooms are all linked together. Would the Memory Maker be worth it?

Last time we went in 2013, we used photo pass. I always had the photo pass photographer take a picture with my own dslr too. Most times my camera's picture was just as good as Disney's. Is this still the case? Is Memory Maker the same as photo pass?

You think I can just get by with using my camera? Or spring for the Memory Maker so my parents/kids are included if we split up at all.

Memory maker worked very well for us, a multi-generational family of 6. We took our own pics and some CMs agreed to use our camera as well. It was great when we did split up to have all the pictures from the day. We also ditched our camera since we took so many with MM. We just used our phones for quick snapshots. I never used photo pass so I can't speak to that. With MM it was easy to edit and download the pics. I had CDs made at a local place and sent out to the family. We also enjoyed printing our own pictures at Walgreens when we could get a good deal on prints.

We did it a few times
Ride photos and magic shots are really the only plus if you carry your own dsrl
The only other thing would be adding boarders, which I like personally
Honestly though we have like 3000 photos and printed like 5 so it's a novelty for us more then anything.
Not sure ill do it this time around

Ride photos and videos, magic shots, shots at night (I find their flashes to work way better than my DSLR at times) all make it worth it for our family. I also noticed far more photographers around the parks now that they've rebranded a Photopass as Memory Maker. It's also nice with a young kid to let the family live in the moment of character interactions instead of trying to get the perfect shots.
