I am thinking about adding it on. Other than the special additions that are added into the pictures, I don't understand why it is so special. Unless I didn't understand, I can't download it to a CD and print them on my own--I would have to purchase the CD from them. I would want to print them myself, either from my phone or a CD.

1. You also get ride photos and videos. I'ts also nice to have pictures with everyone in them.
2. Yes, that's exactly what you do.
3. They don't send a CD. You download your pictures and also get a copyright release so you can print them yourself.

You don't have it right.
You can download the pictures
You can put them on a CD
You have the copyright to them and can do whatever you want with the pics once you download them.

Other than that, they aren't anything out of the ordinary. The magic shots are fun. The borders are one of my favorite features.
But other than those 2 things, you can get the same pictures with your own camera. The photographers stationed around will gladly take them.

I buy it because I know we will have decent quality pictures with DH and I both in them.

Ok, so if I purchase it before I go, is it automatically loaded onto my magicband or do I need to do extra steps. I know that I need to have the photographer scan the band for the photo to be linked to it. And how do I look at them? Can I look at them day by day while I'm there? If we go to CP, will someone be there to do it(I don't remember seeing anyone doing it last year)?

No, there are no photopass photographers at meals.
You can stop in any photocenter at the park to view your photos. A few of the resorts have them too.
Yes, MM is linked to your MDE account automatically at the time of purchase. All you'll have to do is have them scan your band. The RFID chip will be read on the rides and will link automatically (baring any technical issues)

2. You can view your pictures through your MDE account, however I just read on another thread that it works better on a computer than through the app.

3. Yes, but I from what I've read, they don't always show up same day.

4. They don't have photographers at CP.

There aren't any in the dining area, but most of the character meals have a photo op before you enter, generally in front of a backdrop.

For us, it's a MM is a really big deal. The reason why is because now my wife doesn't carry her big camera, but her small one. We stop by practically every Photo opportunity and we get every picture from the rides. And all we do is video some stuff and take candid shots.

But the big thing is that it saves us money- hundreds of dollars! That's because we are all in the pictures together. And if we paid per picture, it would be well over $500! (Oh and my wife's a photographer and scrapbooker-for-hire. Pictures are a big deal for us.)

When just DH and I go, we won't get it. But when we go with family or friends, we will. The ride photos alone make it worth it - looking forward to DGD's first ride on RnR!

I don't understand what you are expecting? It's a way to capture potentially 100s of pictures over the course of an entire vacation for one low price.

I took over 200 pictures on my phone last time. At every place there was a photographer with a character, I gave them my phone to take a picture of all of us. And I still want to take candid pictures in front of the same places every time of my son, just to see how he has changed throughout the years, not only in size but in maturity and interaction. I'm just trying to figure out what will be different with this.

Nothing. You just won't be taking the pictures.

It'll also include magic shots and ride photos.

For the amount of money u spend on the trip, what's another 150. I think it was totally worth it and fun. Pictures last forever. Lol

Here are the differences that you're wanting to know versus the way you normally do it:

1. Better quality than your phone.
2. You'll get all the ride photos.
3. You'll get the couple ride videos that are currently available.
4. You'll get some "magic shots" where the photographer will add Disney characters or graphics to the pictures.
5. You'll get to touch up the pictures before you download them, only if you choose to, where you can add a bunch of different Disney themed borders and whatnot.

The ride photos and the quality are the biggest reasons I get it. I wouldn't want to lug around an 800 pound high quality camera all day like some people do.

I still don't understand what you are trying to,figure out? Different than what? Either you pull out your phone and take all the pictures or you have professional photos from Dinsey. If you love how your previous pictures came out, don't mind pulling out your phone and, most importantly for me, don't mind that in 95% of self photos, one family member is missing, then save your money and don't buy it.

one of the things we loved with the MM this trip was the great video from 7DMT! A really nice surprise! We don't usually get it with just DH and I, and even when we have it, I still take a few candid, but what a great time we had with it! Captured all of the kids and grands in Enchanted tale, lots of extra park shots, and super great quality!

We did MM last year. Never again. Simple reason: the Photopass photographers are not good at what they do. The lighting was often terrible. Many shots were out of focus. In some, my children were positioned (at the direction of the photographer) in front of my face. We were not happy at all with the shots. We have purchased a smaller, high quality camera to bring this year.

agreed!

As you can see some posters love them some not so much :teeth:. The first time we went I didnt buy the version then with the CD. Big mistake on my part. when I got done purchasing photos individually I knew that buying the package made more sense. Since then I have purchased MM every trip. Is every picture like Annie Lebowitz took them, no. But then again neither are mine! I got over 400 photos animated shots videos and magic shots which I edited added borders and stickers too. For me its a value. I definately had at least 11 photos which were must haves at $15 a piece that would be at least $150.

I like being able to watch the interaction with characters instead of watching through a lens or phone.
