Mine isn't a slot machine, but it's in that vein and it was my own doing...because I'm too scared to bet it all.
About 20 years ago, we were in Vegas for my birthday. I was at a casino bar playing video poker, since I prefer that kind of machine over slots. I had a great bartender feeding me martinis and DH would pop in here and there to make sure I was good. Shortly before midnight, my machine got hot. Within the course of about an hour, I hit four of a kind like 6x, two straight flushes, a string of other decent winning hands, and the big one...a royal flush. Of course, I was only playing minimum bet, so my winnings were paltry compared to what I would have won if I were playing max bet.
The worst was DH and the bartender spent the rest of the night chastising me for being so frugal and timid with my betting. I still maintain that I probably would have lost it all before that first four of a kind if I had been playing max bet. Sadly, DH still shares the story about how stupid his wife was in Vegas. This is why he needs to stick to table games and stay away from me while I'm having mindless fun at the machines. It's OK though. I have plenty of ammo to fight back. That man does not know how to walk away from a table. Oh the stories I have of when he should have walked!
