Many of my ride photos are in duplicate. Has this happened to anyone else?
Also some of our other photopass pictures are in duplicate. A few of the photopass duplicates seem to be adjusted for exposure (or is it my imagination) but the ride ones are all identical. Would it be if it was put on more than one magic band, or is this even possible?, but then again, I don't think this would be the case for all the duplicates anyway. :confused3

I don't think this is related to the magic bands. We had this with Photopass+ in 2012 and that was with the card. I was the only one scanning photos for our party of 2 and noticed that sometimes the CM at the desk would scan it twice, probably assuming that the first scan hadn't worked. It may be that there is a delay in the system (on a Disney system? Imagine that!) and it initially appears not to have scanned and then catches up with a duplicate copy when the second scan is performed. I also saw this happen with a few ride photos when I downloaded the folder after we got back. Some of them were in two folders, one being the ride photo folders and the other being the regular park photos folder :confused3

Thanks, that makes sense as there were a few times when I was asked to scan my band again as it didn't take the first time. As for the rides, who knows, but it's not really a problem, it's just more pictures to sort through. I have fear of deleting a photo that is not really a duplicate.:)

It makes editing a bit clumsy and takes up more space on the discs, but it's probably better to have duplicates than missing photos so I never argue if they want to rescan it. As soon as I get my downloads/CD's I transfer the photos onto a USB flash drive. I can then sort them into folders according to park and sub folders according to characters (makes finding them easier when you accumulate these year after year, trust me!) and I know that if I delete duplicates then, I still have the original downloads backed up and the CD to fall back on. I also find working from a flash drive is so much faster than from a CD.

Just thought of something else. One of our group photos, the photographer has cut off an entire child on the right side, when there is plenty of space on the left. I guess there is no chance there is more to the picture that can be sent. I just can't believe they would not see this, three takes in a row. It is a good reason to view your pictures each night, if you are able. At least there would be a chance you could redo it another day.:scratchin

That really sucks :( You're probably out of luck with that one. What you may find is it was a photo where they hit the shutter button by accident and wasn't meant to be a photos so it is very possible that it was an accident but I don't think there is more than what you see. We've been decapitated a few times by Photopass photographers. Not often, but it happens. You may also find that the child/character moved as he was about to take the shot. Anything is possible.

It does suck, but what can you do? "It is what it is". I do know that she was leaning into the picture to see Sebastian in a magic picture and I see her whole body except her head. I am wondering about your method of putting all onto a CD and also a flash drive. Being born WAY before all this techie stuff I like to pick up tips to help. Are u saying you leave them on the flash drive and use this as a method of storage, or do you download onto computer from this and then organize?

Almost all of our ride photos came through as duplicates. Just saved me having to make a copy to put a border around!
