I have been wanting to purchase a memory foam topper for a while now. I really have no issues with the bed I have now, a Sleep Number.

But, I have sleep on a few beds, one at a Holiday Inn Express, and the other on the Allure of the Seas, that was like sleeping on a cloud:cloud9:!!!!

I have been waiting for Overstock to send me a coupon. Well, today I received one.

The two that I am looking at is a Serta 4 inch, 4 pound topper. The other is a Comfort Dreams Highloft 4 inch, 3 pound topper. The Serta has a smooth top, the Comfort Dreams has an eggcrate top.

So, for anyone that has any experience with toppers, could you please give me your opinions!!!

I have never owned one, so would appreciate anyone that could give me some help!!!

Here are the links in case you need more info!!

We have a Tempurpedic topper for our guest bed (now a futon, but same topper). It's a flat one and we like it and everyone who has slept on it likes it a lot. So while it isn't either 2 that you mentioned, it's flat so I figured I'd share that we like it.

I appreciate any advice given! Even if it isn't regarding the two that I mentioned.

Thank you!

Great! I wanted to add, it looks just like the flat one in the picture you posted, if that means anything. Probably a similar price too (I think we paid around $199 for a queen size at BB&B).

We have the Serta one above and LOVE it. We bought a new mattress and bed set recently and after a couple of nights sleeping on the new set we realized that we hated the mattress. It was SO uncomfortable yet felt wonderful at the store.

We bought the Serta topper at Sam's for less than that price (and we got a King size) and have never slept more soundly. It is a bit hot like we had heard TempurPedic style foam mattresses but other than that, it is great.

If you have a Sam's Club in your area then check there. Right now they are running a 10 week membership for only $10.

I am the queen of BB&B coupons. Can't believe I forgot to check them out!!!

We belong to Sam's Club:thumbsup2!

Well, I guess I know what I will be doing tomorrow!!! Checking out 2 stores:thumbsup2

I find them very warm. I ended up removing it from my bed and I sleep much better, lol. I like just the normal foam topper, not the memory foam.

We have bought two from Sams. We love them both. We really needed a new mattress but with our topper, it is like a new bed!

I did a LOT of research on memory foam toppers before I got my last three. 4" is definitely the best. It is thick enough to cushion & distribute body weight.

The 5 lb density is a lot lot firmer. It is the weight of the Temperpedic. I prefer them a little softer, so I got the 4lb density.

Other people who have done some research on a Fawallet.com forum found out that Overstock.com doesn't always sell the density that is described in their descriptions. I should have listened. I bought one from there that turned out to be waaaay to soft to begin with. It got mushy over time.

After several months, I ended up going back to an eBay seller in which I had gotten my first topper years ago. His Seller name is bed-dr and his feedback is 27542 with 99% positives.

The reason I bought so many toppers is that even though they are supposed to last for several years, because of allergies and not putting a proper allergen cover on the first two, :headache: I ended up replacing them. There is no way to wash them or vacuum them efficiently. I also have a cat who sleeps with me and she ended up pooing on my bed.

I now have a waterproof, allergen-free cover on it from BB&B, with a thick, quilted mattress pad on top of that. That set up works like a dream. It doesn't get too warm and I don't hear or feel the waterproof cover.
