Memories at Wilderness Lodge

It's been a while but my memories are very clear and sweet. We stayed there in 1993 in a cabin. My kids were 5- and 3-years old. They had never seen bunk beds before and were excited beyond belief. They got to watch a movie outdoors and roast marshmallows with Donald Duck. We took them to the Hoop-de-Do dinner show and they had never seen so much food set onto their table for them to enjoy before in their lives! To them the boat ride to the parks were such a wonder!

One for our favorite WDW trips! Wait, who am I kidding...they are ALL great! But we do have very fond memories of this one!

Even though we purchased at BLT, it was the first resort we stayed at as DVC members, happy memories!!

You are talking about Fort Wilderness, not Wilderness Lodge. Those cabins are at the Fort.

Driving past the guard gate, coming around the corner and seeing the lodge for the first time back in January 1995.
Walking through the front doors into the main lobby for the first time in complete amazement. Exploring the hotel while doing the scavenger hunt.
Seeing the hotel decorated for Christmas
Having lunch and dinner at the Whispering Canyon Cafe and the menus have our last name printed on them (I still have them)
Being asked to, and helping with the flag retreat on the roof of the building one evening. That was amazing. Not sure if they still do it anymore.
We loved the lodge so much we stayed again 1996,1997,1998 and 1999. We became DVC members at Old Key West while we were staying at the Lodge in 1999 and were very happy when they opened the villas in 2000.
Over the years I have lost count on how many times we have stayed there.
It is one of our favorite hotels.

I remember walking into the lobby at Christmas. it Was an amazing experience. I will always love the WL because of that.
