Memorial Day weekend

Hello fellow campers!

We're moving to Florida this week (!!!). I hope to be around this forum more now that we'll be able to haul our pop-up to the Fort!

Anyway, I called WDW this morning on a spur-of-the-moment thought of going up over Memorial Day weekend (some friends will be in the World; we'd like to spend a day or two with them). I didn't really expect any availability and alas, there was none, but it never hurts to try.

So my question is, should I do the call-back-every-day bit to see if a cancellation comes about? Is there a certain time of day when the system is refreshed, or is it just luck of the draw as to whether I catch a cancellation?

Thanks in advance for any insight you guys can offer! I know from lurking that there's lots of Fort experience around here.

Yes, just keep calling first thing in the morning and then in the afternoon. (they open at 7) and you should happen upon a cancellation. The major holidays always fill up very quickly. Good luck in your quest.

Try booking more days, I'm pretty sure you can cancel at will, even the day you want to leave. I found the magic number to be 10 nights. Make sure your not part of any package, only book your site and you can cancel it whenever you want with no penalty. If you buy the tickets as part of a package, you can't cancel.

Yep, go ahead and book the extra days to get the weekend, then call back the next day to cancel the days you don't need!
