Membership Magic Beyond

Exactly the same experience. What I don't like is how the message at the top says "Your account requires special attention in order to purchase MMB. Call MS." So you call and they say yeah, no. Another kick in the face from DVC (Discrimination Vacation Club).
I’m not sure on what basis they can offer membership benefits to one set of owners but not another! If I had time, I’d probably kick up a fuss, but I suspect they will sort out eventually like they did with LLMP for us in the UK.

Has Disney clarified that they are working on having it available to those who reside outside the US? I don’t understand how they can offer a program to only a specific sect of members and not the entire club?

Timeshares are coded as travel with Chase. So you will get the 3x points.

Since you used the Disney Visa you could use your points to wipe out the charge.

Like the CSR the Disney Visa has Pay Yourself Back for anything Disney in the last 90 days.

The only bad thing is you can’t keep applying points to a particular purchase so if you only had $50 Disney rewards and applied those but later earned $25 you would not be able to apply it to the MMB purchase again.
Using points to wipe out the charge doesn't mean I don't get the x2 Disney Rewards, right? If so, I'll definitely consider doing that. :-)

International owners like me hope they will come around and change their minds. All owners which fall into the same category (direct) should have the same opportunities. Maybe we won’t at first but there are many many international owners and Disney is not known for leaving money on the table.

I bought MMB this morning. My case was simple and straight forward. I have a trip in 2025 and don’t have AP. I was going to buy memory maker anyway. MMB just saved me $90. Anything else is extra.
How does the Memory Maker work with this program? Assum 30 days from first use? Our next trip won’t be until next November, do you have to declare a start date?

Exactly how I felt. Headed to WDW for first time as DVC members in Sept 2025. Memory Maker was going to be purchased anyways, so this was a no-brainer. The discounted tickets are a nice perk too.

Honestly, I'm surprised at the cost for this membership.
It's surprisingly cheap for Disney. (Whispering so Bob doesn't hear)

I have a OTUP question. I have a Dec UY, upcoming trip on January 17th. Can I call on January 12th, ask to buy 24 OTUP and have them applied to my existing vacation? Then I would have 24 of my 2024 points back that I could do what I want with? My goal is to use OTUP for a 4 day weekend in November 25. What's the easiest way for this to happen? If I book a dummy reservation that uses 24 OTUP instead, can I keep moving it forward to November at my home resort or will those points be blocked if it's not within 7 months?
OTUP can not be used for home resort advantage, so 7 month or less

Never used OTUP so apologize for the ignorance What happens to OTUP if the reservation is made within 7 months but subsequently modified to 11 months? Ie make a reservation today for May then modify it to November

You can’t use OTUP for 11 months booking. The system won’t allow it.

What is the limit of "One-Time-Use Points" that can be purchased? If the limit is at/above 24, then @Cyberc1978 can still buy 24, but will only get up to 12 additional "free" (which they noted)
I wasn’t aware but you can only get a total of 24 points, including the free 12 points.

You can’t buy more than 12 because you also get 12 for free.

The earnings depend on your card.

I have the no AF so I just earn 1% on everything but I don't use it on anything except to get free shipping or a discount on shopdisney or if I can get a 5% offer through chase.com/mybonus

You will earn whatever % earned though and then you can wipe it out so you sort of double dip.
Before you had to transfer to a Redemption card which required a minimum of $20 Disney Rewards dollars for a new card or $10 to transfer to an existing card.
Then when you used that redemption card you weren't earning anything back.

With shopdisney they sometimes split the charges up based on shipping and one of mine was for $0.03 so I was able to wipe it out very easily with the PYB using only $0.03 instead of having to have $10 to transfer.

From what I read it was from when you download the photo.

The below is from https://disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/membership-magic-beyond/dashboard/
"Activation begins when the Member downloads the first photo on Disney PhotoPass or the My Disney Experience Mobile App—or otherwise redeems the Memory Maker."

That was the question i was positing above too but no one has answered that for me.

My resort stay is in a month and a half. Can I not call on January 12th, buy 24 one time use points and have them applied to my existing stay I used my 2024 points allotment on? Then 24 of my Dec2024 UY points are now freed up for me to use for a booking next November?

I honestly don't get why so many people pulling the trigger on this? 🤷‍♂️

Are ANY benefits usable before January 12?
  • Can you use the lounge with priority?
  • Can you buy discounted tickets?
  • Can you buy OTU points with BOGO?
  • Can you buy or renew Sorcerer Pass?
If not, can someone give me a reason to buy this before January 12 because I asked MS the same question and they couldn't tell me...

Just keep your $99 invested in a Money Market Fund or High Yield Savings Account for another 6 weeks. Why pay it out now?

Because I must have it and I must have it right now.

I'm like you. I'll buy it the first time I need one of the benefits and think it's worth it.

If the upcoming trip was booked within 7months you can call on Jan 12th to make a separate booking (a throw away for a random date that needed exactly 24 points) then cancel that new random booking and you should be able to swap the OTUP for some points in the upcoming trip. I don’t believe they’ll give you OTUP for the explicit purpose to swap them out, though I could be wrong.

Unless I’ve misunderstood though, the problem you’ll run into is the same as the person above who wanted to do this. If the trip is in January and you call on Jan 12th and get your points to do the swap, the swap will be happening within the 30 days so those newly freed point will go into holding and defeat the purpose of freeing those points :/

If you have an 8% APR (which is probably double what you would actually get but using it for the “best case scenario”) doing daily compounding you are looking at less than $1 in interest, I think most would not care that much and this way they know its done and dusted.
