Membership Magic Beyond

Yeah, this is what I was wondering. Is it enough for the purchasing member to be "DVC-Y" or does one of the UY contracts for which you're purchasing OTU points have to be direct?

Appreciate @Cyberc1978's answer and hope that it's right, though.
I purchased MBB and I have 1 eligible membership and 1 non eligible membership. It didn't ask me anything about which membership I wanted the MMB on, it just automatically applied it to the eligible one. That is why I don't think it would work

That is because it applied it to your DVC Y membership...which is a requirement...but once you bought, you can now use the benefits for either membership....meaning, you can use your BOGO free points on the non eligible membership if you want to because you get the benefit....as an individual...

The program is for the owner and not the membership.....as long as an owner is eligible to purchase, they get all the benefits, regardless of what they own.

Just like I visited the lounge the other day to see the characters, even though I was staying on my RIV resale points. So, its all about the owner and not what is owned.

If you are DVC Y, you can purchase it and unlock all the benefits. Now, if one has one UY, then both owners only makes sense if you want to unlock the BOGO points for trips in 2025 and 2026, and don't plan to pay for it in 2026....

But, for those of us with multiple UYs, we have the benefit of being able to access for multiple ones. We still can't get more than 24 total OTU points on any one membership, and still can only get BOGO free for a total of 24....but, it does give us a bit more flexibility.
I understand that both members would be eligible to buy MMB membership because they are eligible members.

But since the BOGO OTUP are limited to each membership, I am wondering if you are still able to buy the BOGO OTUP on the membership that is not eligible for membership extras

Oh so it has been confirmed you can use the BOGO points on the non-eligible membership?

Yes, because the benefit is the persons, and not the membersihp. Even resale memberships are allowed to get OTU points so that is not changing....all that is changing is what you pay for them and each person who buys MMB is entitled to get one set of points with BOGO free, as long as they are on a different membership or in a different UY than the other owner.

When I asked about it, I was told membership doesn't matter....so yes....like I said, I was able to use the MMB extra hours in the lounge while using my resale RIV points.....

Two owners can indeed purchase BOGO points if they both buy into the program....it just doesn't unlock more than the 24....because as I have shared, this isn't added to a specific membership...it is added to all.

All of my memberships now show DVC BY....

Yeah I guess I was lucky.

Your idea is worth pursuing, but I assume it won’t work, because when the CM looks up your account you will either be eligible or not.

You are correct that if most internationals wish to purchase they need to be present in FL. With that said, in this case a VPN would work - I know because I purchased direct points using a VPN. VPN indicated I was in the UK.
I was just hoping there was another loophole that would allow more international owners to take advantage of this program.

You are the only international member that I know of that was able to get. Glad you were able to get the OTUP as well as to me that is the biggest selling point of the program.

I hope others can soon follow in your footsteps and be able to join if they so wish to do so.

I’ve been reading this thread for 20 minutes. Here’s what I’ve got
Canadians are mad because they can’t spend money.
There are these lounges. They are for DVC. But they are only for the right DVC people at the right time staying the right way who haven’t been the right people before in their trip and there are certain times of the day that MMB makes you right but only if you are right in all the other categories.
There are points. They are not free. They can only be gotten by the right people who want to spend money to spend less money for the points. Unless they are Canadians, because they are never the right people. These points can only be swapped for the right reservations made the right time and if this is wrong you can’t. But the wrong points that are resale and are wrong for MMB purchase can be the right points to swap for the points you pay to buy for less, unless you are Canadian in which case your money is no good.

So I struggle some days remembering what I had for lunch. Who thought up this million if and but rules program? Was it the Canadians? Because whether they know it or not, their version is the easy one - you can’t spend the $99 period.

For those that have purchased, where does the free memory maker show up? I saw it was supposed to be in your online account (vs the app) but wasn't sure where to look. Also, is the expiration date for the memory maker 12/31/2025?

This is exactly how I feel reading the posts here. So many rules, loopholes, restrictions. I have enough trouble keeping our points and memberships straight so I don't lose points each year. This MMB thing would make me lose my mind.

Maybe that's another reason why sales are slow based on some reports. People just don't want to deal with more hassle, even though you might save some $$ here and there.

Login to Disneyworld.com and click on MyDisneyExperience and then My Plans.
Scroll down and change from "Daily Itinerary" to "Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker" and it should show there.

It also gives the ability to reassign the memory maker.

I wonder if I reassign it to the person who's AP has it if that would extend the memory maker then instead of being used up by the person who didn't have it on their AP.

We won't have any trips planned in 2025 after our AP's expire in the fall so it really doesn't matter for us but would be curious to know.

It’s like the “back door Roth IRA”. Requires two steps, but is completely legit.
To add, the only reason I think DVC has you make a reservation when purchasing is so that it is more in line with paying for a rental than an actual transfer to blurr the lines of no payments for them....which, DVC doesn't have to follow...but still.

With this program, sounds like they have decided to potentially expand that option....maybe we will even see them allow people to purchase as long as they are putting in a waitlist.

Will do. I’m pretty sure there is a mistake on the dates for pricing. Instead of 1/12/25-1/3/26 for peak it’s supposed to be 12/20/25-1/3/26 for peak pricing. right now there is overlap in the dates. But I’m not sure. If our dates are peak pricing we wouldn’t be saving any money just the free LLs so not sure it’s worth buying. But if it’s off peak pricing that would be a decent savings for us.
The tickets with Park Hopper, during peak times, are in fact $505. Looks like she’s going during spring break dates, so that’s probably considered Peak.

Just asked MS because I’m going April 22-25. He said I just missed Peak prices, since Easter is a few days beforehand. I asked about March and he said it begins March 23rd. So it sounds like she unfortunately, just caught the higher price dates.
Has anyone found a way to determine which dates are peak and which are not, without calling MS? We’re looking at several dates this fall, and I’d really love to avoid having to call and say “Are these dates peak? What about these dates? And how about this third set of dates?” 😜

I couldn't find it anywhere. That's why I called. MS didn't exactly give me dates, but just mentioned certain times. Like you would expect...the week before Christmas, Easter, Spring Break, Week of Thanksgiving I believe. Can't recall if he mentioned anything in the fall.

Thanks. If I can find an actual list of dates, I’ll share here, or if I have to call and ask about several dates I’ll post about those!

I just bought the 3 day pass w/LL at DL. ($660 each, no Hopper) I asked again about Peak Dates. He said there is only one, Dec. 20-Jan. 3rd. I told him another MS told me other dates, but he said they must have been thinking when peak times are to go to DL. He sounded very confident.
