Membership Magic Beyond

I don’t know that that’s a great indicator being that you can’t visit the lounge between 6 PM and 9 PM unless you’re staying on points with the added caveat that you can only go one time per trip
Yeah I guess, I would check what characters are currently available for meet and greet and if it was some that we wanted to meet we would go otherwise we would wait.

If you had a split stay you could go more than once during your trip :-)

Oh. I thought I read book a fake 24pt ressie then cancel.

The best part of DVC is how simple it is to circumvent their rules. IMO

The rules are set by DVC and part of buying them allows you to use them if you cancel the initial night.

So, while it’s an extra step owners go through, it’s not breaking any rules.

It’s actually nice that they seem to be amending the rules to accommodate.

And maybe it has to do with new expanded transfer rules as well.

ETA: And it’s also possible that the CM did indeed make a random reservation and cancel it before reallocating.

So I appoligize if talked about in the 1st 105 pages,,,but wasnt about to read all.
Now I know that being a Canadian, I cant get MMB, and the excuse that they have used on us,,I did email them on it.
But thinking now as well, part of this MMB, not that I would use it or care too much,,is the fact that it gives someone priority access to the lounge and special times for the lounge. It now has created a 3rd tier for DVC, and we were ones that had no restrictions,,but because we are not in the USA we are now lower tier.

Have any international owners attempted to purchase this while staying on property?
Staying on property?

You can only purchase MMB online or by calling in.

I’m international, from Europe and I was able to purchase MMB online and I got the bogo points the other day.

Were you using a VPN by chance? If so, they may not have seen you as international.

I only know a handful of DVC owners in real life. And none are purchasing MMB.

FWIW, I LOVE how we are bragging about “bending” the rules regarding OTUP. Let’s continue down this road.
Same. Of the ones I personally know, not only did they not purchase, a couple of them didn't even know about it.

For us, we knew about it and still did not purchase it as it has no benefit for us. In fact, it has left a bit of a bad taste in our mouth as it has potentially taken benefits away by making the waits much longer for the Epcot lounge for the "unwashed".

I think we all know that you have been lucky enough to purchase it even though you are international and glad it is working for you.

I know you purchase online or via MS Phone call.
I was asking anyone that was staying on WDW Property had tried to purchase it.
Most international buyers have to be in the state of Florida. If an international person attempts to purchase MMB while staying on property I was curious if they would push back with the international law thing even though they would be in the state of Florida at that point in time.

Apologies for asking this...I tried finding it in the thread, but there are too many posts to sift through.

We have two UYs: one direct and one resale. I purchased MMB for the direct and plan on buying 24 BOGO OTU points.

But could my husband purchase MMB for our resale UY and get the 24 OTU points, too? He's technically DVC-Y, but that contract is resale, so I'm guessing not.

Thank you!

Yes if you have two different UY’s and you both purchase MMB, then each of you can get the bogo points. You can get it for the first UY and your husband for the 2nd UY.

Would they be able to buy the MMB membership on the second resale membership? I don't think they would

Wouldn't it have to be 2 direct/grandfathered memberships in order to sign up a different member on the two memberships?

Yeah I guess I was lucky.

Your idea is worth pursuing, but I assume it won’t work, because when the CM looks up your account you will either be eligible or not.

You are correct that if most internationals wish to purchase they need to be present in FL. With that said, in this case a VPN would work - I know because I purchased direct points using a VPN. VPN indicated I was in the UK.

Yeah, this is what I was wondering. Is it enough for the purchasing member to be "DVC-Y" or does one of the UY contracts for which you're purchasing OTU points have to be direct?

Appreciate @Cyberc1978's answer and hope that it's right, though.

The program is for the owner and not the membership.....as long as an owner is eligible to purchase, they get all the benefits, regardless of what they own.

Just like I visited the lounge the other day to see the characters, even though I was staying on my RIV resale points. So, its all about the owner and not what is owned...what you own just determines eligiblity for buying MMB in the first place.

If you are DVC Y, you can purchase it and unlock all the benefits. Now, if one has one UY, then both owners only makes sense if you want to unlock the BOGO points for trips in 2025 and 2026, and don't plan to pay for it in 2026....

But, for those of us with multiple UYs, we have the benefit of being able to access for multiple ones. We still can't get more than 24 total OTU points on any one membership, and still can only get BOGO free for a total of 24....but, it does give us a bit more flexibility.

So, a husband and wife can do it....and I confirmed this with them at the Dec meeting, but using my son as an example.....both him and I could buy it and each get the BOGO on different memberships...him on the one that he is an owner, and me on one the ones he is not.
