I was once told on this board that DVC deposits inventory into II 10 months and 3 weeks in advance (Approx.) I did find out that II has already been given many units for Dec. 2008. Anyone know why? I thought I was on the waitlist early enough at 12 months but have already missed those units.

The earliest DVC could give II a points reserved unit is 10 months and 3 weeks, or 11 months from checkout on the first day of the reservation. The only way they could give anything else would be to deposit developer weeks they still own and DVC has never done that to my knowledge. My guess is you were given wrong information simply because an II employee made assumptions that were not true.

In my limited experience, I have not seen any DVC units depostied that far out.

I've got a transfer into SSR through II for 10/25/08, booked on 12/7/07 (and really excited about it too!). That is right around the 10month 3 week window you are talking about.

Technically DVC has 2 options to address this issue. One is developer deposits of unsold inventory which would currently be only available at SSR since AKV is not officially part of II at this point. To my knowledge they've never done this. The other is they could anticipate availability and offer to II, CRO, members for cash, etc. This is allowed as part of the POS. Currently any time in Dec would be within the 10 months and 24 day window that is possible. While DVC can technically deposit a week starting any day of the week, I've never seen anything other than a Fri, Sat or Sun that I recall so the timing of the week may affect the timing of deposits slightly in this regard.
