Member Services Helped Us Use 54 expiring points in less than six days!

We found out Monday that we had 55 extra points in our DVC account because of the add-on we got this last week. I didn't think the 2003 points would be there, but they were! Ahhh Panic!!! We were past our May banking window and right at the end of our use year which is July 31st.

Being a DVC lover and hating to let any points go to waste (I know you guys will understand) I was hyperventilating knowing that we only had less than a week to use these points. Turns out my brother-in-law and his family and another family are at the beach this week in the Tampa area and were wanting to go over to Disney for a day. My husband has been telling his brother about the Wilderness Lodge and how great it was. Here's the magic part, Member Services called the Wilderness Lodge for us and they were able to get us a two bedroom and a studio for them this week. We didn't quite use the whole 55 points, but 54 is pretty darn good on that short of a notice.

How's that for some Disney magic?

Once they stay there, there will be two more families lining up to buy DVC

Wow! Good job! I would have been in a panic as well!

Our guide once told us about one of her members (our guide is good about calling every once in a while to see how things are going, and of course to fill us in on the latest DVC offerings).

Anywho, she said that this particular member had owned at OKW for almost 6 years and had NEVER used her points, loaned her points to friends, or rented them. They just all expired!!!

She said she just "never got around to it"; they were busy, etc.

I assume the money must have been a nonissue to them.
