Member Cruise, Who's joining me?

Laurabearz! It sounds like you've gotten used to a little more luxury after your Concierge Collection Plaza stay. (I'm still waiting for that trip report.)

A category 3 sounds like a great way to celebrate an anniversary!!!

From the looks of things, maybe we should start a new thread entitled: Are there any DVCER's who were NOT married in February?;) :p

Hey Regina.... We are both used to a little luxury..... at least as much as our points will afford us.... :teeth: But the reasoning behind getting the 1 bedroom on a cruise is just more practcal, with two toddlars, we find we need the room, if only for naptime.
We did set up a sweet livingroom in the Poly bathroom last trip, but it wasnt the same!!!!!!

dvcreg,

Sounds like we need to plan a "February Anniversary" meet!

Our 9th is in February, 2003.

Can't wait to see you guys there!!

Isn't it funny dmadman, one of the reasons that you don't want to go is one of the reasons that we do.

I should qualify that. We will have just returned from a 7 Day Eastern Caribb Cruise (12/28 - 1/4). (Not that monthly cruises would be fun!)

Monthly Cruises?? Don't give me any ideas.:p :p

I'm still amazed at how many of you have February anniversaries. I guess there will be a lot of "special occassions" celebrated during the member cruise.:D

5 more days until THE CALL. Good luck to everyone in getting what they want.:)

UGH.... Ozo said if I really wanted to go on the cruise we could..... but he thinks the kids should be older before their first cruise....

And I tend to agree.... So we are passing on this one, but hopefully this cruise will be the first, of many, DVC offers.........

YOu all have fun..... I will be thinking of you on Saturday!!

Would love to go but can't:( Don't want to take the kids out of school for a week. Maybe next time!!

I am really bummed that many of the myths, legends and heroes of this board are going, and I can't get to meet them...what STAR POWER!!!! (if only Rich were going...just imagine...)

Ironically, we had already booked the 7 day for the week after. However, I did think about it in poker terms...

does CAT 3 x 4 days + 2 CC day beat

CAT 5 x 7 days + 1 CC day + Valentines Day @ Palo

I can't bluff...I want them both!!! Never mind those of you longing for monthly cruises, I want CONSECUTIVE cruises!!!

Having it all WOULD be nice...;)

I'm planning on going, and am getting really excited about it! I don't have a problem with the point increase
Of course you don't......with all those points you have. :) What are you up to these days?

Seriously, long time no post see. Hope all is well.

Hi Renee! Darla also has some new BCV points too! Can't think of a better way for " The Points Queen" to celebrate than on the Members Cruise:D

Four more days until "THE CALL.":Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Keeping my fingers crossed (except for when I need them to hit redial), that everyone gets through and gets the category that they want.:D :D

Just curious...what category are most of you going for? Do you already know what cabin and all?

We did the 7-day, category 6 in October. I loved having the verandah and justified the verandah because it was a 7 day cruise, blah, blah, blah...but said that if I went on the 3 or 4 day, I would settle for a porthole. Well, after having that verandah, I'm not sure I could do without! And it's a 30 point difference...am I trying to convince myself, here???

What are you all doing?
M*M
:)

I'm debating between a cat. 6 or 7. I'll have to see what's available when I get through. (Positive thinking.)

I had plenty of practice when I called in for our Millennium stay. ;)

Of course you don't......with all those points you have. What are you up to these days?

I find it very hard to keep up with these boards, DVCTalk, the AOL DVC Boards...etc... These boards seem hard, because I have trouble figuring out what I've read and what I haven't read! What am I doing wrong?

However, with the new Member cruise coming up, I wanted to read about everyone that was going, since I'm 99% sure I'm going!

And...by the way, I am up to 1055 points...however, most are borrowed from 2004 already! I need every point I own! I will be cruising with the new Beach Club points I just bought. I had a 2 bedroom booked for March, but changed it to a studio and told the Parents they will have to stay home (they were ok with this, since I am taking them in June, along with 24 other family members). (Have I mentioned how much I love my DVC?)

So, there you have it, I will try to come around more often, because I want to meet and greet all these wonderful DVC members that will be cruising! I sure hope the phones are too busy! I'm glad they cut down the wait time on the phone and only allow so many people on hold. That way, we will get the busy signal, and once we get in, we know we are only 10 minutes away from booking....crossing my fingers!

Also, I am planning on getting an inside state room, I really am point poor, at least for 2003 and 2004 ;)

Have a great day!

I was all excited about going in February until we started really discussing the possibility and realized that we had no one to watch our dog while we were gone. So, the DVC cruise will have to be missed this time. However, YIPPPEEEE, we decided to take a 7 day cruise instead and we are mulling over the possible dates at this point. We might wait until April 2004. Has anybody booked this far out? Did you get a really great rate? This will be our first Disney cruise with our DD. I'm very excited. Good luck to everyone on Saturday. I'll be thinking of you. :D

We are going to try for an Oceanview room. If we can get that we'll be good on 2003 points and won't need to borrow any from 2004. May go up to a Navigator's veranda if we can't get the oceanview, but if that isn't available then we're going inside. Doesn't matter as long as we make it on the cruise!

I'm with you!!! Even the lifeboat would be a comfy place to sleep if it were available, LOL!!!

I prefer the verandah, but I will go with whatever is available when I book. :) :)

We are a Member Cruise drop-out :( We don't have the points to use so we would have had to pay cash. Once we started researching the cash price and comparing it to rates we could get from TA's on similar cruise dates, we just decided we didn't want to spend that much money on a 4-day cruise. We had hoped to go to Hawaii this next year on our anniversary, we considered doing this cruise instead, but we decided to stick with our Hawaii plans. We can't do both, too much time off and too much money. If we had the points available this time of year, we probably would have done it. I hope the cruise is a success and they do it again.
