melia resort nassau - anyone been recently

Hi all,

I have been trying to find somewhere nice to go whilst we are in Nassau for the day. This will be our first time here so I want to get somewhere safe.

Has anyone been to the Melia before. It looks amazing. I emailed them and they responded advising me that they charge $35 and this needs to be booked on the day at reception.

Has anyone ever taken a taxi here. Are there safer taxi's to take than others, i'm clueless here!!

Been to Nassau many times but never to Melia; anyone been there recently? Or any other recommendations for other good day passes (not Atlantis).

BTW, I don't think you'll have any safety problems catching a cab on the dock. We have taken taxis a number of times. You may want to see if anyone on your roll call is also interested in Melia and share a large cab.

I've been looking at the one at the Melia beach resort and also the Hilton. The hilton is closer however its $60 but the beach isn't as nice. The Melia is a taxi ride away $35 but the beach looks amazing.
