I'm sending my Mom on a mission to the Christmas Tree Shop!! :cool1:

I like the tall floral version myself! :)

I'm so excited that I'm going back home to Massachusetts in a few weeks so I can go shopping at the Christmas Tree Shop! :thumbsup2

One vote for the tall floral version!!

Yay for Facebook!!!

On the floral note, TALL!!!! I think a big otherwise empty room REALLY needs the height of tall floral centerpieces to bring it down to scale a little and make it feel a bit warmer, kwim?

Yay for Facebook and Mikkel for making a group!:goodvibes I think it's pretty cool. We get enough people together and show that DISBrides rock!

Two votes for the tall centerpiece!

I love number two!! I agree with the tall centerpiece idea about it can be too tall.. one is very pretty too but just make sure it doesn't block everything!

One vote for the shorter one!

Just read your PJ and wow your super organised !!!

I've only 4 months to go and havn't bought half the stuff you have.

Love the second dress !!!

We have the love heart sand container, we bought it from michaels on our planning trip - only cost $1.99 :thumbsup2 just need to get the sand and the other containers to go with it now.

Liking the yellow, thats our colour too, we also have the same favour bags as you.

Looks like its going to be a beautiful wedding.

Linz xxx :)

Hey Linz - Thanks for the kind words! :goodvibes I can honestly say if it wasn't for this board and all your PJs (yours definitely included!!) I wouldn't be at this point. In "real" life I'm a huge procrastinator!!!

Hi Meg,

I like #1 the best but depending on the ceiling etc it may not work. #2 is my second fave and the colors you picked are sooo pretty!

Going to go get caught up on your journal!

Thanks for the vote Dawn! :goodvibes 3 for the tall one!

Hi Megs! I like #2! You can't go wrong with any of them though!

Hey Angela! You make two votes for the short one. See why I'm torn? EEK!!

Ok I am going to make this confusing...LOL

I like the second centerpiece but with the flowers from the 3rd centerpiece...LOL. Does that make sense?

LOL Toni - you are your own vote!! But I think that would be really pretty! So one vote for the second one with the third flowers. :thumbsup2

I love love love all your Pats stuff! We need more NE brides!:cool1:

Yes we do!! I'm going to be ordering a Patriots jersey with Rob's last name from the Pats ProShop for the H-Moon! I'm doing better now, last Sunday was such withdrawal, but when Peyton Manning and the Colts lost, I felt better!

Hi Meg! Sorry it's been so long since I visited...it's been mega-busy around here! Your planning is coming along so beautifully, I really love the jewelery and veil your going to get...I'm glad you'll get some more use out of your tiara after your wedding. :goodvibes Princess Meg...has a nice ring to it. I love the centerpieces your looking at, especially the one you showed the picture of with the candle holders. I can understand about the heigth distrupting conversation if their too high, but that's where you sit all the ex's. :rotfl:

I can't wait to see what they do with your hair during your hair trial....did you change the date of your planning sessions? I noticed that you said the 18-19 of May...am I going to lose my Papparazzi? :)

I hope you guys had a wonderful Christmas, and are enjoying your break!

Hi Kel! We got our tickets to the planning session! We're flying in on the 15th in the evening, so your paparazzi will be there!! And please don't doubt that I'm going to get a heart balloon to bring with me to give to you and Gregg!! Hehehe...

I like #1, but shorter. I also really like #2!!

Thanks for your vote Jennifer! 5 tall, 2 short!

I went to a wedding in september and they had tall centerpieces. It was awful. We couldn't even see the people sitting on the other side of our table si needless to say we had to take them down to even say hi to the people over there. Just keep that in mid if you want tall ones.

That's what I'm afraid of! Hmmm.. thanks for the input Ashley!

So most people liked the tall one but were afraid that it might be too tall. I'm thinking if we use the candelabra (sp?) the base may be skinny enough to talk around. When I start planning with Disney Florist, I am going to ask about the dimensions of it and if it's too big I'll go with the shorter version.
Thank you so much for all your help!!

Anyodd, lots of good stuff going on in the planning world. I have my tickets to go down for the planning session! :woohoo: We are flying out of Bangor on the 15th and coming back on the 20th! We put in our request for our planning session on the 18+19th! WOO! And the best part? Rob is going!! We didn't originally think we could afford it, but my dad bought us the tickets and hotel! I think he just wanted out of it. (Poor Dad) and Rob got the time off at work. WAZOO! We'll be staying at the Pop Century, which I've never stayed at, but have heard good things about.

And Rob signed up for a DIS account today - he's CrownWX (in reference to his website Crown Weather Services) I think he's getting excited about the wedding. I spent an hour on the phone with his mother explaining stuff about the wedding - when to go down and all. I'm very lucky - my future MIL is a sweetheart.

We also got the information to do the room block, website and contract information. The room block confuses the living you know what out of me. But Rob seems to get it. Thanks to recommendations from the main board (esp Carolina and Linda) we're leaning towards Boardwalk, POFQ and Pop! I'm so confused about the whole thing, and would love for someone to explain it to me. Do my nights go into the Room Block? Can we change it? We're inviting over 100 but we're assuming only 50 or so will come - how does this all work?! I need someone to sit down with me, hold my hand and explain this very slowly LOL!! For a college educated woman, I can be incredibly dense. :rotfl2:

Thanks for everyone's help, thought and input - it really does help me out more than you know!! :goodvibes

Peace :hippie: , Love  and Go BRUINS! :cheer2:

WAZOO!!! :cool1:

We got our planning session date today - May 18th at 1pm!!

We also got our time with the Roots, who the more I talk with, the more I like!!:thumbsup2 (May 19th!)

and (how is this for productivity)

I scheduled my dress steaming from Carolyn Allen's AND figured out the TUX situation. :woohoo:

I'm off to watch the Colbert Report, but I just wanted to revel in my productivity! I'm usually such a slack! lol!

Peace :hippie: , Love , and GO BRUINS! :cheer2:

I'm so happy for you that Rob can go on your Planning Session trip now! You guys are going to have so much fun. Are you doing a hair and makeup trial before your engagement pix? Where will you do your photos?

Regarding the room block, you don't put your hotel nights in it. They count toward the minimum, but you don't need to block them. The block is there to set rooms aside for your guests. (You prolly already have your reservation, right? So you don't need to set aside rooms for you.)

You can change the number and dates of any room nights at any time - it isn't set in stone. As long as rooms are still available, Disney can adjust your room block (until 30 dyas before the wedding, when all the unused rooms are released back into the system). So don't stress about getting it perfect. :thumbsup2

Hey Carrie!! First off thanks for all the info - I stress entirely too much. :goodvibes

I need to put in a call to Patricia/Randy to get my hair/makeup trial scheduled. Did you do yours before the engagement photos? I emailed the Roots again and threatened to drag them up to Cape Cod to take the pictures - lol I so would bring them up if I had the money. I'm thinking around the Yacht/Beach club - there are some really interesting "beachy" things over there. But I'm going to ask them for opinions - Rob and I are really open to doing anything interesting!

Nope we haven't reserved yet! I was under the impression that we had to wait for room block to reserve them, or we had to pay full price for the room. :confused3 Where I got that notion, I have nodda clue! How do I go about reserving and getting the discount?

I think (with your help) I got the room block done except for the thing about Rob and my room. We put most of the rooms in the block at the Pop for that Saturday - Tuesday. (Most of my college friends have requested value!!), I opened up two at the POFQ, and one extra at the Boardwalk for my dad. That was alot easier than I was making it to be. :goodvibes Thanks muchly!!

Oh no, you don't need to wait for the room block to be done to reserve your rooms - you can do it whenever and then just re-book with your room block discount when you get the paperwork with the number to call. Although, frankly, you're prolly gonna get far better rates with your Annual Pass discount than in your room block.

And yes, I did my hair makeup trial right before our engagment photos. It was great because I saw exactly what it would look like in the Roots' photos. :thumbsup2

Have SO much fun!!! :yay:

Meg! This is too funny, we have our photo session scheduled with the Roots on the same day! :rotfl: What time is yours? Ours is 5:00 I think...my calendar is at work, but it's either for 5:00 or 6:00 in the evening. We are going into Celebration. We wanted to go off property, so Gregg can use his badge and weapon as some of his "props"....I'm thinking of handcuffing us together for a few pics, might be fun! I'd love to get a few at the Boardwalk too before we go.

We just might be running into each other all over the place!!

You ARE stalking me, aren't you? :scared1: :lmao:

hey there, so excited you have your Planning session all lined up, and Rob can go with you:) . Have you signed up for Xmas tree shop emails? They have been sending me coupons like crazy lately, if I get any good ones I'll send them your way!

That is hilarious!! Jensey told me that they had another shoot that day - you're the other shoot?! LMAO!! :lmao: I'm thinking of on property for photos, but Rob and I are really open to anything. Look at our current engagement pictures! (The ones with the Patriots jerseys) - we are nuts... in a good way. Your pictures are going to be awesome! I would have Rob bring down some of his job stuff, but Hurricane Charts and clipboards of metorological data do not a good picture make!
Great now I'm a stalker paparazzi!! :scared1: :rotfl: When I was born, my father took one look at me and said "I have such dreams for my daughter - I hope she grows up to be a stalker!" and it's just gone from there! :rotfl2:

Thanks for the heads up Sam!! :goodvibes I'm going to go sign up for email - maybe they'll send me some coupons.:thumbsup2 I cannot wait to get home - I was listening to Mike FM (93.7) online today - it seriously made me long to get back home to Worcester! I'm so excited! (It takes so little to make me happy!)

Edit - I just signed up. I put in my Worcester zip (01602) instead of my Maine one - just in case you only get coupons based on location. My closest shop from here is Augusta Maine which is 250 miles away.

I felt the need to write this down in my PJ. Once I'm done with this, I'm going to print it out and have it binded into a book so I feel my feelings and thoughts can be part of it as well. :)

Yesterday I went with Rob and his dad to get measured for the tuxes. They had Rob put on a pair of tux shoes and I had a moment. It was at this moment (odd as it may be) that I realized that I am really getting married in 9 months. That I will be walking down an aisle and getting married in front of friends and family. It really took my breath away.

Later on, I had some time to think and reflect what made that the ah ha moment what it was. Rob is an outdoorsy kind of guy - he's mainly a North Face/Columbia/LL Bean kind of guy. I've never really seen him dressed up other than dockers and a shirt and tie. I don't want to be weird and make it sound like I have a foot fetish because Lord knows I don't. Especially not his :rotfl: . But seeing him with nice patent tux shoes on instead of his usual Columbia hiking boots really made it real.

I'm probably odd, no - I know I'm odd but it's real to me. I'm getting married! :bride:

9 Months Out as of tomorrow!! Woot, woot!! :woohoo:

That is all -

Peace :hippie: , Love:love: and Go BRUINS! :cheer2:

Meg I competely understand what you mean. I had that moment when I saw my dad try on his vest..hahah...i actually started to tear up..it was super nerdy and the people at MW did laugh with me after :)

BTW I DID see the thing about the cruise! I was completely excited until I saw the dates...my campgrounds open May 1st and I am not allowed to take more than 2 days off from May 1st until October 13th...so I will not be able to cruise along with NKOTB...however...I think you totally should so I can live vicariously though you :)

I had one of those moments recently. It was right after New Years...and we were finishing the flooring in the basement and I sat on the couch... that for the first time is placed in the living room (we have been doing the basement for about a year now) and realized that in 6 months, I would be living here, that this would be MY house no longer df and I's project and it just felt... wonderful!

I am loving your "should have been" engagement picture by the way! Very very exciting!!!

Hi Meg-
Ok, I am now caught up with your report...Everything sounds so wonderful....glad you choose dress #2.
As for the Yankee Candles I would go for it...they do a wonderful job...we had them at our 25th Anniversary on the DCL...and custom candy bar wrappers for chocolate bars...I will find a picture of both and post them later.
Back when we did our VR I was not aware of the Disboard posts..I love to lurk thew the stories...brings back great memories...
Ah, the Christmas Tree Shop...do you go to the one on Rte 9 in Shrewsbury?
OMG Snoopy and Disney...you sound just like us...we actually had to purchase two large curio cabinets to display some of our cherished Snoopy and of course our VR memories..once I upload them to photobucket I will post them!
Snow, ICK! like I said in my PM I could not wait to leave MA! My DD is a hockey fanatic..Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes...She knows all the stats of all the players...We were on the Disney Cruise when 'Miracle' (its a movie about the US Hockey Team in the Olympics, for those of you who don't know) was showing and talk about being the loudest one in the theatre...and then the one who cried the most when they won!
Can't wait to read more!
p.s. the next time your in MA and driving through Shrewsbury on Rte. 9 heading east...wave to my family just past the traffic light at Spags!
Cindy :yay:

ahhh, I just read a little back in your PJ and saw your DF with Snoopy and Belle! So cute, and too funny b/c I have the same ones! A neighborhood dog actually stole Belle from my hand when I was 2 and my grandma had to chase a 45lb black lab around to get her back! I don't remember it but from the stories it was a pretty exciting day at our house :rotfl: Snoopy was never dog-napped, and Belle eventually recovered, I'll try to find a pic next time I'm at my parents house. :flower3:

I had exactly that moment yesterday !!!!!

I was at work and I walked into the staff room where someone had hung a poster about my hen night (bacolerette) asking who was coming, there was a big list of names under it.

I kind of just stopped doing anything for a moment, I was totally frozen thinking ' oh my gosh, Im actually getting married !!!!!'

It hit me like a ton of bricks ~ a total realisation moment.

Your not odd at all, unless we both are :rotfl:

( oh and one more thing, its my birthday this Monday so I have bought myself a birthday present ~ on Sunday night I have tickets to see NKOTB :cool1: feel like a young teenager again !!!!!)

Meg, I had the same type of weird moment yesterday... twice!!! DF and I went to my parents house for dinner and hanging on her refridgerator was the invite to my bridal shower that my bridesmaids sent out... Angela's Bridal Shower! So weird! And then we were all super excited about the new American Idol season... my mom goes crazy and has an American Idol party for the finale... well anyways, she was like in a few months we'll be sitting here watching the Idol finale and your wedding will be all over and done with. YIKES! Crazy!!!!!

9 months will go sooooooo fast. I can't believe I'm down to the last 3 months!!!

I am very glad I'm not alone in this geekiness. However, I wish I had had my moment when he was trying the tux on or something similar. The shoe thing was a bit odd. :rotfl: But that's me!!

The cruise is when I'll be in WDW for my planning session and Kel's wedding!! ARRGH! The fates are conspiring.

yay! Another moment!! :thumbsup2 I'm sure it will feel wonderful when the work is done. That's alot to do with a wedding coming up! :scared:

I really should have put the one with Rob on my back in the paper - that's more us than anything! We're weird. I can't wait to do new ones with the Roots - those will be even cooler! Thanks for the kind words :goodvibes

Hi Cindy! :wave2: Welcome to the insanity that is my PJ - complete with pictures of snow, David Beckham and the New Kids! lol!

Yes I do go to the one on Rt. 9! I've been going there since I was a kid and it first opened! I love it! My favorite Christmas Tree Shops are on the Cape o'course, but the one in Shrewsbury is great - esp. if you go during a weekday - no one there! And now they have a Yankee Candle next door and Burlington Coat Factory down stairs where Calvert's (sp?) used to be. HOME!! 28 more days until I get back there!
Your daughter would love our house during hockey season. :rotfl2: I'm a die hard Bruins fan, and Rob (DF) is a Hurricanes fan, purely because of the logo. (He's a meteorologist specializing in tropical weather). I wish I could go to a B's game when I get home, but they're away. My Dad and I are going to Lowell to see the Lowell Devils take on the Portland Pirates (AHL). So I'll see some hockey!

I shall wave :wave2: at your family when I pass by! I'll get a picture of Spag's when I go. You wouldn't recognize the area now.

ahhh, I just read a little back in your PJ and saw your DF with Snoopy and Belle! So cute, and too funny b/c I have the same ones! LOL that's too funny. We have an 85 Black Lab named Aurora Rose "Rory" and I have hidden Snoopy and Belle from her. Or they would be dog-napped!

I would love to see a pic! :thumbsup2

Happy Birthday Linz! :bday: You lucky duck who gets to see the New Kids! I'm feeling better about my moment now. Although I wish I hadn't had it over shoes. That's a bit odd! :rotfl:

Meg, I had the same type of weird moment yesterday... twice!!! DF and I went to my parents house for dinner and hanging on her refridgerator was the invite to my bridal shower that my bridesmaids sent out... Angela's Bridal Shower! So weird! I actually gave in and started watching American Idol for the first time in my life the other night. :faint: Wow. I can't believe you'll be married by the end of it! You're in the double digits now! :cheer2: (I can't find the woo hoo smilie - they've got me all mixed up now that they've changed them!) I was looking at a pic of my countdown clock when I bought it, and I was 400 days out. Right now I'm 268! Woo Hoo!

So my moment was normal - and probably not the last one! This will be full of them by the time the wedding comes. Especially at the wedding itself. Thank you all for sharing that I'm not as odd as I think :goodvibes

ARE WE GOING??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?:confused3 :dance3:

HECK YEAH!!! NKOTB only 5 hours away from me?! BOO-YEAH!! :cool1:

:cold: Now when I mean freezing, I mean FRIGID! -40oF last night. Blecch..:cold:

Just a few things to report in. We've made up our mind on some songs.

First Dance: "I'll Be Loving You Forever" by NKOTB which goes directly into "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley

Mother - Son Dance - "Close To You" by the Carpenters - Rob's mom has no idea. This is one of her favorite songs, she used to sing it to Rob when he was in the hospital when he was a baby. (He was born with esophageal altresia which is basically an esophagus in two places). So it's a special song to her.

Father - Daughter Dance - "Daddy" by Beyonce. This song is completely me and my dad. There's this lyric

"And I remember when you could do no wrong
You come home from work
And I jump in your arms when I saw you
(I was so excited)
I was so happy
(So happy to see you so happy to see you)
To see you"

And that is exactly how I was when I was a kid - and Dad loves Beyonce so I think it will work well. :thumbsup2

I decided on the place card holders:

They come in sets of 12, and we're assuming about 30-50, so I'm going to order 4 sets which comes out to 63.80 - not horrible!

I'm trying to get in touch with LeJeune to schedule my makeup trial, but haven't been able to so far. Will post back on that.

Peace :hippie: , Love:love: and Go BRUINS! :cheer2:
