Meg,

I am a lurker on this thread. Your PJ caught my eye because you are a fellow New Englander and huge Patriots fan. I wanted to voice my opinion on your poll. I love your new dress choice. Make sure you wear whatever makes you feel the most beautiful on your special day.

FYI, we are Pats season ticket holders!!!

Good luck planning!

Meg-
I voted for the second one....I REALLY like it!!! It's a very delicate, feminine look.

Of course, you need to go with the one you feel is the one for you!!

Can't wait to hear what you decide!!

Hey all,

Here's my really ridiculously quick overdue mini-update. I'm sorry I've let the cobwebs build up here on my PJ over the past week or so - we're in the process of moving into our new house. We're going from a two bedroom apt to a four bedroom house. In the new house we're doing some fix up stuff and painting the walls. I've got lavender paint everywhere - in places that I would rather not discuss. :rotfl:

We didn't go down to Massachusetts for the NKOTB concert :sad1: . A close co-worker of Rob's passed away unexpectedly, and the funeral was Saturday morning. There was no way we could get down there. I didn't know the person, but Rob was close to this woman. So how could we go to the concert? I couldn't allow him to go to the funeral alone. So we stayed. I mean we sold the tickets on StubHub, and we did get alot done on the house this weekend, but I missed seeing Jonathan Knight! BAH! Ok done on the selfish NKOTB pity party.

I have decided to get the second dress. I'm going to order it this week. YAY! :goodvibes Thanks to everyone for helping me decide on the second one.

That it all for now - I have got to go snooze. If I'm MIA again between now and 12/1 - it's just moving stuff - I got several PM's from people who wondered what rock I crawled under and died - I'm sorry for making anyone worry!! Bad Meg!

Peace :hippie: , Love  and GO PATRIOTS! :cheer2:

Have fun with all the moving and painting! The second dress is beautiful!

That's right! Bad Meg!! :rolleyes1 I'm glad you are doing well, and getting things moved. UG, I hate moving, it's such a pain!

Sorry to hear about Rob's co-worker, I hope Rob is doing well.

I can't wait for you to get your 2nd dress, you sound so excited about it, and it's so pretty!! You'll be a beautiful :bride: no matter which one you choose.

Happy moving kiddo! Call me when the heavy stuff is moved, and I'll come over and help :rotfl:

Hey all,

A small update since I've neglected this thing for about a month. We're all moved into the new house now and it's wonderful! But between that and Christmas, I'm flat broke. So I won't be purchasing anything between now and Jan for the wedding. However, in my down time (otherwise known as the time where I should be writing my paper about Adult ADHD), I've pondered out/come to conclusions.

1. We decided on the first dance. "I'll be Loving You Forever" by NKOTB. Hokey? Yes! Cliche? Yes! Perfect? YES!! Since I missed out on their concert, Rob is allowing me to make him dance to this song. But we've decided to "RickRoll" our guests. At the 3:45 minute mark of "I'll Be Loving You..." we're going to pop on "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley. We figure about 60% of the people will "get" it. We're going to pull people out onto the dance floor at this point and do ridiculous 80's dances. The rest of the wedding can be elegant and normal - Rob and I are gonna have fun at the reception! lol:rotfl: As Rob pointed out, the lyrics actually are kind of about our relationship from his point of view - all those "never gonnas".
"Never gonna give you up,
Never gonna let you down,
Never gonna run around and desert you,
Never gonna make you cry,
Never gonna say goodbye,
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0

2. I'll be buying my dress next month after this Christmas insanity! I've found a toe ring and ankle bracelet to wear with my dress.

Both from QVC. I still haven't decided on tiaras though... I've got a list of 15 that I like... but I'm leaning towards the Kristie Kelley Snow White Tiara.

3. Here's the Veil -
Veil.jpg

I'm torn about how to put my hair for the wedding. I like it how that girl has it, but God knows that my hair does nothing! It's my fear that I'll get it done down like this and by the time of the reception it will be as straight as an arrow. Any thoughts? :confused3

4. As I said on the main board, welcome bags are out. :sad2: I just can't afford them as I wanted to do them. And I just don't think they would be used. I'm going to put the money from the welcome bags into the favors. Somehow. Ideas are wanted and welcomed!! :cutie:

That's all from the frozen North where it's currently 9 degrees with a -4 degree wind chill. I have to think of Florida and WDW to warm up!:)

Peace :hippie:, Love  , and Go PATRIOTS! :cheer2:

Hi Meg! I'm settling in for the night, bracing for a blizzard (only 10-12 inches :rolleyes1 ) and logged on to DIS, and thought of you... (for some reason, you and snow have a weird association in my world :confused3 )
And lookie - a new update!

Glad you're all moved in and now can “enjoy” the brokness that is the Holidays!

I think a first dance to NKOTB is AWSOME. Before we nixed the idea of dancing all together, I was trying to convince DF to have the first dance to my favorite song off the Dawson's Creek soundtrack :rotfl2: He was quite glad when I gave up on dancing all together! I LOVE the idea of RickRolling your first dance!! Even if just a few people get it, it'll be so worth it! Too funny!

I love the veil - it'll look so cool with the new dress! I think your hair will look nice down. But I totally understand the worry about the curls falling... I have the same problem, but for me, when I have my hair done professionally it always lasts much much longer - are you having a hair-trial so you could test it?

Otherwise, I vote for half up half down, as I think that with the back of the new dress (it’s higher because of the jacket isn’t it?) your hair will look better down/

I really like the idea of the personalized candles as favors. Are you looking for something in addition to that - or a replacement? What about putting the extra $ towards something in the reception - memorable, but doesn't have to be packed???

Hope you're staying warm (it's a balmy 11 degrees here - but there's that whole blizzard thing...) Thinking happy warm Florida thoughts right there with 'ya!

LMAO - Yes snow and Meg are one and the same. I think we're getting what you had - it's snowing as I type. And the same toasty 11 degrees here! Yahoo! :rotfl:

Yes I'm going for a trial (doesn't sound right does it?) I think the 18th or 19th of May when I'm down there for the planning session. I'm thinking of asking my stylist up here for advice. I just have stick straight hair that won't hold a curl. And goes frizzy in heat. So I'm tempted to go with an up do with a helmet of hair spray and goo to keep it in place. I would love to have it like Lynn did at her wedding - it was beautiful!! :lovestruc (Check her journal for pictures!)

I'm working on the favor idea. One thing that came to me at work was that Yankee Candle does personalized votive holders or even jar candles. I tried calling them (from work o'course) but I couldn't wait on hold - I'll try again tomorrow. I just want to see their prices - I'm sure I could make something - I'm making CDs as well - but I have no Michael's or AC Moore around me to buy supplies to be creative. Another idea was Mickey Chocolate Covered Pretzels (oh how addicted am I!!). Put them in bags and give them out. I'm so torn - bah!!

Warm thoughts from up here! Stay warm and safe over there!! :)

Hope you get a snow day out of this like I did. (Did I get anything productive done... no, but at least I wasn't non-productive at work:lmao: ) It's been snowing for well over 24 hrs. bleh!

I loved Lynn's hair. I'm jealous, I wish I had hair like that. I'm seriously concidering shelling out the $200 to get (real) extensions since my hair is so thin and floppy, and I'm very worried that it'll be limp as well.

I will say that one of my friends had a personalized candle and a CD as her favors, and I am burning the candle right now, and the CD is on rotation in my car (still 3 years later) \. So I think those are both good. And you can't go wrong with Chocolate.... but you also don't want to "over favor" and force you guests to lug a buch of stuff back home... ya know?

P.S. Concider yourself lucky, every time I walk into a Michael's or Joanne, or whatever, I walk out with yet another set of "Print your Own" invitations... I'm up to 4 so far :rolleyes1

Happy Shoveling!! That's what I'm about to go do - we so need a shoveling smilie smilie! I'll settle for this :cold:

Hi Meg!

Glad you're going with the second dress. It is gorgeous. I also love the tiara, bracelet and veil. It is all gorgeous. You have great taste.

Hey there I was just wondering how you are surviving in your new home after the storm! We just got power tonight for the first time since thursday night. It has been so frustrating..no casualities though...we still have 4 cats and our fish were kind of fishsicles but they survivied. I just wanted to make sure that you are ok up where you are!

Hey Meg just wanted to say that I love your jewelry and the veil has some gorgeous detailing in it!!

I completely agree with the shoveling smilie! It feels like that's all I've been doing as of late.

I think we're going to do the CD, Candle and Mickey Chocolate Pretzel. They can eat the pretzel and then take the other two things, which are fairly small back with them. And if they don't want the candle, well shucks, it will have to come back to Northern Maine. hehehe..

Stay warm over there!!

Hey Mindy! I was thinking about you with this storm! We didn't really get hit too badly up here, but my dad got really hit by it in Worcester, MA. This huge maple behind my house down there fell down and took out the house next to mine. It only dented our garage. But he said it sounded like a cannon going off! :scared1: He tried to get his car out of the garage and then when he pulled it out, another part of the tree fell down and hit the car. He decided to stay home.

How are you all doing? I'm sorry you all were fishicles. EEK!!:scared1: I know Rob's family in Eliot and S. Berwick are still without power!

I am glad that you guys made it ok and that your dad is ok...geesh how scary. We have a ton of branches down. I actually manage and live in a house in a campground and Mike and I sat here watching braches come crashing down on camper's trailers. It was CRAZY! We just got power back last night...I caught wind that Central Maine Power (I think you might use Bangor Hydro)was at our local 7-11...I actually went to the store and sat in my car and stalked them...hahaha...sad but we were 4 days without power...it was crazy. we were going to go back to my moms house last night becuase it was SO cold here...good thing we didnt...we got our power back at 7:55 and she lost hers at 8:30! Im pretty sure that I would have gone nutty.

Im glad that you and Rob are alright!! we are all still alive and kicking that is all that matters :)

I just stumbled upon your PJ, and you are getting married the day we arrive for our Honeymoon!! We are getting married here in Richmond, VA 10/10/09, and having our Disneymoon beginning on the 12th! We are even staying at (hopefully) BWV, as we are brand spankin' new DVC owners there! Maybe I can catch a glimpse of your wedding from the Boardwalk!

Can't wait to read more!!!
