YUCK! I'm not excited for snow at all!:snooty: I had to scrape the frost off my windows this morning... that is bad enough!!!!!!!!

Aww your snoopies are so cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a great surprise that is going to be for him!!!!!

I love the yellow and blue. That is really going to look great! The sand ceremony set is very pretty I love everything you bought!! Can't wait to see more!! I LOVE EBAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<---- jealous!

I can't wait until we get snow!

you're PJ is great!

I'll add you to my list of DISBrides to send the snow to! :rotfl: Currently I'm praying for no snow, now through the first week of December as we move! But as soon as we're settled, let it snow! I do like a white Christmas. But that's it!!! Welcome to the boards! :goodvibes

Toni, you really like the blue? I keep going back and forth if it's too bright in the sand. :confused3 What do you think?

Isn't Ebay the best?! I should put them in the wedding program as an official sponsor!! :rotfl: I really liked your basket that you're getting from them - the one that isn't lost in the mail! :goodvibes

Can you send the snow here!!! I like winter but only if it SNOWS!!!!!:cool1:

I'm willing to! Trust me! You are now added to the DisBride list of people I'm sending snow to. :lmao:

I do like the blue. I think its nice and bright. I like bright colors so it may just be me...:rotfl:

I actually think any shade of blue would be great with the yellow. I am hoping the other basket gets here safely. Of course, the auction doesn't end until November 2nd so I still have to wait. Maybe the other will come by then. :confused3

YAY! Thank you for adding me to the list! So how many more days?! I get more and more excited as it gets closer but then I relaize how much more I have to do :(

Hi Meg! Just catching up on your PJ. I love to see all the goodies and bargains you get!! It's funny, I was talking to Gregg about all the stuff the DIS brides do (I guess brides in general) now-a-days for weddings. He's going, "Gift bags?!", "aren't they suppose to be getting you the gifts?!" :lmao: I hate to sound like an "old timer", but my, have things changed over the years since my first marriage!! Programs? Well, I never! LOL If I were planning a big wedding, and didn't have somewhere like this board to go to, I'd be committing faux pas' all over the place! :goodvibes

Anyway, I digress!

I love everything you have so far! I love your baskets, and you showing your New England heritage. I moved here from Connecticut, and I miss New England (especially in the fall), even though I wasn't a native. I see you're getting the custom Yankee Candles done, I always thought that'd be so neat, if I were having a big wedding! Have you ever been to their factory in Deerborn, MA? It's a really cool place to visit, if you ever get the chance.

You're flowergirl's dress is adorable too, so sweet looking!

Hope you're enjoying your little bit of snow! My sister lives in Laconia, NH, and she mentioned they were suppose to get some too...she usually calls me at the first snow and rubs it in! :)

Take care & happy planning!!

I appriciate your help :goodvibes - I keep going back and forth on it. I looked at navy sand and that's too dark - there's no pleasing me!! I think I'll stay with that blue then. One less thing to think about! :thumbsup2

I really hope that you get the one that went MIA, but your backup is nice as well. :)

No problem - we had more snow this morning, but it melted off by the time I was up and out which makes me :yay:

345 more days! When I bought my countdown clock it was 400 odd days. :scared1:

Hola Kel! :)

I started being in weddings when I was a kid in the 1980's. I remember probably most vividly my cousin's wedding in 1990 where I was a jr. bridesmaid. There were no gifts, the favors were those little almonds, and none of this meet and greet, welcome dinner or anything! It's a bit - no wait, ALOT overwhelming. ITA - if it wasn't for this board I would be Miss Manner's outlaw #1! :rotfl: One of my original wedding ideas was to wear Patriots jerseys in my backyard and have a bbq! O'course this idea was quickly shot down, but at least I have my Patriots garter!

I'm really excited about all the New England I'm sticking into the wedding. If it was financially possible I would have had the wedding on Cape Cod, MA. But that's insane all in itself. As much as I love other parts of the country and the world, I don't think I could live outside of NE. :) And I am a Yankee Candle junkie - I go to the Main Store in Deerfield (close!!), at least once a year. I can spend a whole day in there, and most of a paycheck! hehehe... and it keeps getting bigger and better! I also love the mall right down the highway with the Christmas Tree Shop. (Meg now homesick!!)

Laconia is beautiful! :lovestruc Rob is actually a native New Hampshire-ian, he was born and raised in Portsmouth on the coast. But if there's a part of that state that we like to visit it's the Lakes Region and the White Mountains, closer to where your sister lives. Have you ever gone there for the foliage? Puts us in Maine to shame!! I don't know if it's the mountains or what, but it never seems as bright up here as down there. I've been to your neck of the woods (Missouri), but I've only gone to St. Louis. I really want to go to the Harry S. Truman library in Independence. (I'm a history geek!)

Anyodd - I'm babbling again. I'll stop now

:hmghost:BOO! Happy Halloween!:hmghost:

Hey all!

Not much new here - we're moving into the new house starting next week, and we're also going down to Massachusetts to see the New Kids on the Block on 11/8. Just crazy busyness! I haven't bought anything new for the wedding, but I do have a quandry.

I found a dress online that I like better than the one I have. :scared1: I didn't spend much on the one I have, so I could sell it on ebay and probably come out even. Let me show you the dress I like better (BAD MEG!!)

And with the detachable train (which I really really like).

If I could figure out how to post a poll I would - what do you all think? I could always use the other one for a home reception... I just like this one more because I think it works better with my shape (yes round is a shape!) and it's more modest. I have nightmares about dancing at the reception and the twins popping out! :scared1:

In other news... here's the updated list as to who I've confirmed and am working with currently:

Photography - Roots - Deposit Sent!
Videography - Stan's - Deposit Sent!
Officiant - Rev. Jack Day - Paperwork Sent!
Make Up - Patricia LeJeune - Deposit Sent!
Flowers (Silk) - Sharon Negassar Designs - In Process - drawing up designs!

I found a beautiful florist who does incredible silks with the real touch silks which is what I wanted. For under 250, I'll get my bouquet, MOH, Jr.BM, Flower Girl, toss bouquet, 6 Bouts and 2 Mother's Coursages. I decided to go silk with the bouquets because I want to keep mine and I don't want to go to the added expense of preserving it. All other flowers at the reception/ceremony will be real. We're going to do all yellow roses and blue hydrangeas. If you've ever been to Cape Cod, MA - you'll know the blue color that I'm talking about. They grow like weeds down there. Here's a picture out of my old vacation pictures with my old 2MB digital camera.

DSC03754.jpg

So that's more Massachusetts I'm putting in the wedding. Also there are going to be a few Maine blueberries (fake o'course) in the bouquet to bring out the Maine part of it. So if anyone wants to know what my theme of the wedding is, it is

"Meg and Rob's Excellent New England themed Wedding Adventure that they couldn't afford to actually have in NE, so they drug their family kicking and screaming to WDW - October 12, 2009" hehehe :rotfl:

Otherwise, I've put a freeze on buying stuff. In moving from this apartment to the house I'm finding all sorts of junk I never knew I had. I'll start ebaying again after the New Year. We're planning on having a housewarming/new year's day open house and I don't want all my wedding stuff all over!

Going to bed now! I have to get up early to get dressed as a good witch - kids are coming around to work for Trick or Treat. I'm working on my cackle as I type. heh heh heh

Happy Halloween!!!

Peace :hippie: , Love  and GO PATRIOTS! :cheer2:
-Meg

Okay... I debated posting in your PJ, but I figure I just have to forgive you for being a Patriots fan :lmao: (GO Packers!!) But it's not like you're a Vikings fan or anything, so I guess we can be friends :rotfl:

Saw the NKOTB when they were here, not quite as good as the Spice Girls or Hansen, but just as wonderfully cheesy as I'd hoped it'd be! You'll have fun.

I'm home sick and just read your entire PJ... I love all your plans! Everything is so cute... I must say that I love the 2nd dress - and as a fellow "round" girl - who also has a sizeable chest and shoulders... I'd feel much more at ease in the 2nd one - not worried about nipplegate part deux! Then again, the 1st one is gorgous as well, and goes with your theme, and with the flower girl dress so well...Okay, I like them both - I'm of no help to you sorry. You could always do a ceremony and reception dress.... I'm really good at spending other people's money!

Happy moving! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that there's no more snow - I know what a pain snowy moves are!!

Hi Meg

Absolutely loving your 2nd choice dress...the lace sleeves are stunning. I would imagine your chest would stay where it was supposed to more in the 2nd dress. Alas, I do not have any chance of my 'puppies' emerging and even if they did, I don't think anyone would notice!! Oh the woes of breast feeding!:lmao:

LOL well you're not a Colts fan, so we can definitely be friends! :lmao:I actually wanted the Packers to go to the Super Bowl, especially it being (well at that time) Favre's last season. You and I both know how that (and Super Bowl) turned out for our teams! :headache:

I'm really looking forward to the NKOTB concert - more reasons than just one - get to go home to Massachusetts! And the fact that Rob's braving the concert for me well... gotta :lovestruc him! Spice Girls was an awesome show - unless Jonathan came out and started singing directly to me - and I don't think they can top it. Even though all my journal has all this Spice Girls and NKOTB lunacy, I'm really more in love with R.E.M. Now there's where I go insane. And I skipped their tour this year to go see the Spice Girls!

1 vote for the 2nd one. I'm just terrified of getting into a groove and then the ladies popping out for Nipplegate! All being captured on high definition TV  And if it can happen to anyone it will happen to me!

Well thanks for reading along, even if I am a Pats fan! :goodvibes

Another vote for 2! See I'm not so far off in my thinking here... I was having guilt - how bad am I for having a dress and then finding one I like better?! :sad2: Thanks for the vote Jo!! :goodvibes
PS - LMAO about the puppies! :lmao:

Ugh - I was at that stupid freezing cold NFC championship grrr... just give us 10 more years... we'll be back ;) We can just commiserate and hate the Mannings together!

OMG... I LOOOOVE REM as well  . I wake up to Bad Day every day! I've never been able to get to a concert though, the timing never works out. It's totally on my life list!! I will see them, I will! In college, I even wrote a paper on them in my History of Rock class - I'm obsessed!

If you do stick with dress 1 - invest in some hollywood fashion tape. I swear by it, it really holds! Saved me from a few nipplegate moments myself!

I must say, you're giving me hope - I'm trying so hard to wait until I get closer to get a dress, but I'm scared to death that I won't find one... and you found 2... Maybe there is hope for me!

Meg...NKOTB are going to take you back!! I tought I was obsessed before the concert in Boston...after...it was all over. If Mike wouldn't make fun of me...I would have the posters back up and would trade in my little mermaid conforter for my new kids one that i still have somewhere!

If you guys decide that you want to have a home ceremony in Maine..I know you love Mass but I am a notary and I NEVER charge for weddings! I would love to help out a fellow diser! :woohoo:

I'm up for anyone who can't stand the Mannings like me! Uck hate them! :headache:

I love "Bad Day" but I wake up to "Get Up" off of Green. I've always loved the line "Dreams they compliment my life... Dreams they complicate my life" Heck who doesn't like a good esoteric R.E.M. lyric? I'm walking down the aisle to "At My Most Beautiful", but was seriously considering "Love is All Around" from the 1991 Unplugged, or "Beat a Drum" from the 2001 Unplugged. "Beat a Drum" was ruled out because people wouldn't get it. I've been to the Monster Tour in 1995, Up in 1999, Greatest Hits in 2003 and two shows off of the Around the Sun tour in 2004. It's killing me that I didn't get to see them this year!!! But I chose Spice Girls - I didn't figure they would be around again. R.E.M. is incredible live. You've got to see them!!!:thumbsup2

You'll find a dress. If an ex-hockey player who is built like a football linebacker can find a dress, anyone can! :goodvibes

Oh I know they are. I'll be screaming at the stage being a total geek and Rob will be wicked embarassed. :lmao: I have my NKOTB earrings and hat with Jonathan pins already for the concert :upsidedow I've been surfing Ebay and looking at the NKOTB stuff up for sale. I've compiled a file of pictures of what I used to have and it's more than a bit disturbing. Mugs, Bed Stuff, Books, Clothes, Marbles, Lunchboxes etc!! They made their fortune off of me! I was sorely tempted to buy a Jonathan poster online that I used to have, but I held off. I will be getting a t shirt at the concert though!

And thanks for the offer! :goodvibes I wish I could have a wedding in New England, it's just that it's more economical for our families to go to WDW - go figure huh? I'm just going to make sure our New England Heritage comes through. But really thanks for the offer!! :goodvibes

PS - Which dress do you vote for?

Ok Meg, I can give you good advice here because I had the same problem.

I bought a dress, then saw another and changed my mind. I REALLY loved the dress. (this is the dress that David's Bridal didn't get for me). So I put a deposit on the first one and never picked it up. :rotfl: and went for the second dress that I loved but sadly did not end up with. :headache:

I would go for the dress that you absolutely love! You need to feel good on your wedding day and if you know there was a dress out there that you absolutely loved and didn't get it, I think it will bother you. I say sell the first and go for the second!! :thumbsup2

I voted with the minority. I LOVE the dress with the yellow...but I am partial to wedding dresses with a touch of color. I think that dress is beautiful! Go with the dress that you are most comfortable in. You do not want to be self concious while you are walking down the aisle!

I voted for the new dress. It is so pretty but just my opinion. I like the other one too so it was a hard choice!
Also, I am VERY jealous you get to go see NKOTB. I was the BIGGEST fan when I was little. I had the bed spread, sheets, pictures..everything in my room. I was just looking at pictures the other day of my roon when it was like that! Oh the days!!! Have fun!
Happy Moving also. I am dreading the day our house is finished and we move :(. I hate moving! But it will be fun to have our first house and to decorate!

Hi Meg!

I'm a Yankee Candle fanatic too!! I'm having a problem right now finding "Fireside" though...I just love the smell of that, smells just like a log buring in a fireplace!

Yes, I've been a "leaf peeper" before! I've gone to the White Mountains a couple of times duing the fall...are you familiar with the Kangamangus Hwy? I REALLY miss the New England falls. I guess all the leaves are probably gone now, you have autumn so early!

Meg, Meg, Meg, what am I going to do with you!! So you found another dress!! I think you should go with your heart, and what will make you most comfortable! I'm one of these people that is all about the comfort...and you don't want to spend the most important day of your life, worrying about a "wardrobe malfuntion" If that's the only reason you'll nixing that dress, I know you were planning on getting a balero (however you spell it!), so maybe you could have some straps put on it to keep it up, that wouldn't show with the jacket over your dress? I love the color and stitching on the first dress, but like the lacy sleeves on the second dress. You're asking too much for an opinon from someone like me that can't even decide where to get married!! Why don't we just have a double wedding at Margaritaville, and wear our hootchie Mama clothes! At least we'd be comfortable!! ...or I can wear Hootchie Mama clothes, and you can wear your Pats football shirt!

Good luck with your choice, I know it'll come to you and just feel "right". BTW, I love the hydrangias!

Kel
