? Challenge Coin - Need help with Design ?

I agree with the gold metal colored map. Are you still going to have a way to attach the little medals to the front? It is one of my favorite aspects of the coin.

I also like Go the Distance.

I adore my challenge coin and have it sitting on my desk next to me all the time (It's a place holder on my calendar). I kinda regret not getting a second one for my husband (he might be a little jealous of it). But we'll both be there for Dopey races and he can get one then. : )

i will probably just have them magnetize the entire coin or see if they can make the mini medals.be magnetized so they can just attach to the front. it wont be as strong as before...probably....but i cant figure out another way to make them attach without adding some small magnet that really stands out visually - i want to avoid that obvious magnet like i had on the first coin.

thx. Go The Distance is the text now on back, also will do metal colored map on back.

january you can get another one. :)

I would like some advice on a couple more things - this time the back of the coin.

1) What should the text be at the bottom. Initially I had "Every Mile is Magic" but that's the same message the one guy has on his coin - didn't want to just copy that.

Give me options...these are some I had: WISH UPON A STAR
EVERY MILE IS MAGIC
EVERY MILE IS PAIN
DREAM DARE DO
FAILURE IS NEVER QUITE SO FRIGHTENING AS REGRET

I like the quote "Failure is never quite so frightening as regret" but dang that is long and it just wont look good on the bottom.

2) I temporarily added Jack Sparrow to the bottom of the course - but it is odd just to have one character and so I don't know if it is worth it or what else to add. Tried adding the monorail to the middle but it didn't come out good. Maybe less is more and just leave it off. I also though of adding a couple of Princesses running.

3) The color of the course - someone suggested making it be the metal color,

Here is what a silver version could look like

And here is a version if I don't have colored parks or course, but instead make the metal colored.

Good point about omitting the "2025" so that you aren't limiting the medal to a single year.
I *like* the multi-color parks, but wouldn't be terribly upset at the metal-color parks.
IMHO, "Every Mile is Magic" is used widely enough that also having it on your medal is a non-issue.
Or maybe "I get to run!" (Look for that on some shirts that I've ordered and that I hope will show up in a week or so).
I like the idea of a few characters on the course. JJS is a good choice. Maybe also have Mr Incredible out there....

These look amazing! Go the distance is simple and perfect. I really like the gold, but I think I LOVE the silver. I genuinely cherish the one from this year and it has a special spot in our Disney room at home.
X2!! I love mine too.. just this past weekend I was sharing it with a friend and telling how meaningful it was on my first Dopey and how it represents the support from this loving community!

I really appreciate the kind words on this challenge coin and I'm glad it has brought you some small amount of happiness. I also appreciate you all for helping design the 2nd one with me even though it's gonna be tough to surpass that 1st design. I'll be honest I am struggling with training and stuff right now so all of this helps. And thanks to @GuinnessRunner for being awesome - as are many of you. I'm glad to know you all. Im hoping for better runs ahead.

I do believe since you are creating it as a gift and not making money on it, you'd be in the clear. Still, best not to poke that bear.
that's my belief too...since there is another guy thats been given out a runDisney coin for a few years now.

and yes, I do not sell this coin for any profit or any likes - i dont even ask for pics. All I really ask is for people to pay it forward a little. Donate to the poor or encourage a fellow runner, especially the ones of us that are struggling to finish...cause dang it, if I dont lose weight, I will be struggling again.

x2.. I am struggling with weight but I’m following my training program.. then saying to myself that it is ok LOL

I hear you. It is truly frustrating how much our body fights us in trying to lose weight as we get older. I'm down appx 18-19 pounds from when I got married 5.5 years ago, and I can verify that it has been a trench war the whole way, gaining and losing ground. So stay at it and take the W's when you can and try not to dwell on the L's. Fall back, regroup, and reconquer the lost ground (just to continue the WWI analogy).

so the only thing keeping me from finishing the 2nd coin is the design of what the mini medals are for and how they are used. i swear its always harder the 2nd time around...that first design was good and hard to duplicate it without duplicating it too much.

while i have mini medals on the back...which are held by magnets...i dont have any purpose for them on the front, unlike last coin where they represented Dopey wearing a medal. the coin maker hasnt offered any suggestions that are helpful except for adding a similar front recessed area to hold a medal like the back area but i dont want to disturb the front too much.

sooooo....im kind of at a loss. i feel like i will just go with what i have and dont worry about the back medals attaching at the front. and yes, they will be kind of meaningless to be removable from the back other than to be a fidget kind of thing to do. so if anyone has smarter ideas than i can come up with please let me know. thx.

Narrator: This is a good problem to have....

After taking a second look at your designs, I have several thoughts:
1. Embed a small magnet above Dopey's bib so that he can "wear" one of the medals from the back
2. Embed a small magnet in the center of the upper fireworks starburst so one of the medals can replace (cover) the fireworks
3. Reposition Tink to the right and down just a bit with a magnet off the end of her wand such that her wand would be pointing at a medal up in the sky. yeah, the medal might cover a bit of the top of the castle.

Just a few more ideas to play with, noting that you already have a great design and are down to optimizing it that last fraction of a percent for Six Sigma goodness (a trait I can totally identify with and appreciate).
