We will be thinking of you, you know. :goodvibes And I'll try to report on it very thoroughly for you.

I love that picture of her in the door! She was SO pretty that day. Not that she isn't always, but you know how brides are. She was a beautiful bride!

Great start, Lynda! Really beginning to feel jealous of all of you getting to meet. I'll be looking forward to hearing about the meets thru you!

Thanks! I'll do my best to do it justice. :)

:rotfl: Tell him he's busted. We wanna know!

Yeah, we'll have to look into that Cedar Point thing when we get back.

And I'll have to work on that picture. Photoshop arrived today!!! :woohoo:

Oh cool! Keep an eye out for us if you're going to be where we are one of those overlapping days.

I WILL be letting you know about my gear! ;) HINT: I just ordered a new lens last night! I will do a 'gear' installment later.

Well folks, until I actually get to do some shopping, I thought I'd update you on some of our future trip plans.

As the Peeps already know, there has been a Peep meet planned for January '08 for quite some time. It has been my intention to attend that meet for quite some time as well. The January trip would be DH's first trip on a plane. It would be a short trip, and since we are planning to move to Florida, he thought he needed to be able to fly in order to come home for visits. Good idea, I thought!

Then, this September meet came to be, and DH starting thinking that if he was going to fly for the first time, maybe we should go somewhere that it wouldn't be reasonable for us to drive to. (That way if he hated it, at least we would have gone somewhere new. ) My birthday is also in January. Wheels started turning. Research was done. Finally the 2008 prices came out for Disneyland, and WE BOOKED IT! We are going to Disneyland in January! :yay: And we're staying at the Grand Californian! I am overwhelmed with excitement about it. We have neither one been to Disneyland, or even California. It is going to be incredible!

Then there's our annual May trip for next year. Since we bought into Animal Kingdom Villas, and we are hoping to take along my best friend and her husband, who are both zoo keepers, we thought we MUST stay at AKV! And we are. :cool1: We have a 1-bedroom at AKV for the May trip. Well, the first two nights are at SSR for now. We have to wait for the 7-month window to see if we can get AKV or WLV for the first two nights instead. After seeing the AKV model at Doorway to Dreams, I am VERY excited about this trip as well!

But right now, we are planning THIS trip. So, I'll soon be reporting on shopping and camera gear. (OMG! Two of my favorite subjects - outside of Disney, of course! )

Great pre-trip report thus far. :thumbsup2 I can't wait to hear more about your upcoming trip and of course the actual trip itself. Like Winkers, I wish I was going with the Peeps but the nursing program has basically taken over my life for the next 18 months. Great pictures BTW.

Patiently waiting for more.......popcorn::

Thats so great that you get to go to DL! It def wasn't as exciting (to me at least) as WDW but it really was very cool to get to go to where it all began, ya know? It's def worth the trip tho! If you need any food advice or anything for that matter DL concerned, just lemme know!

First off, SINGLE DIGIT DANCE BABY!!! :cool1:  :woohoo: :dance3: :cheer2: :yay:

That’s right, we have 9 days left!

Well, it’s been crazy around our house, as usual. I have finished a Shutterfly photo book for the friend I took wedding pictures for. Her coupon expired at the end of this month, and guess what!?! I’ll be gone at the end of the month, so I had to finish it before we left. I still have to order her 4x6’s too.

And we went to visit my best friend and her hubby, who work at the Indianapolis Zoo. And we got to pet and feed a walrus! It was SO COOL! This is him. His name’s Brutus, and he was so cute. And some other pics from the zoo as well…

This guy is making a move to somewhere near and dear to my heart (and probably many of your hearts as well). ;)

It’s feedin’ time!

Look at the baby!

Now then, this past weekend, in addition to working on that photo book, we did some serious Disney shopping! Omigosh! I just LOVE Disney shopping! We got snacks…

196574062-M.jpg

We have to have gum for driving through the mountains on our way down. Cold Eeze (per Melinda’s suggestion ;)) and Halls just in case. Granola bars, of course, and I also got Fiber One bars. Snacky items for the road trip…and of course, ‘On the Go’ mix-ins for the bottled water we bought. (I didn’t photograph the water because it looks like – well, water. ) I also got little bottles of diet cranberry juice, some cereal, yogurt, and I’m going to get some apples closer to time to go. Since I’ve been eating better, I need to have a few healthy items on hand so I don’t get too messed up. Sometimes I’ll want to counteract all the junk with something normal. I’m really looking forward to the junk though. :rotfl:

We also got some essentials – tissues, Q-tips (DH says the ones I take in a ziplock with the cotton balls get “puffy”), band aids (we’ll be taking a lot of these as I’m still wearing one on my toe every day  ), Clorox wipes, ponytail holders, heat pads, a cold compress, Purell, antibacterial hand wipes, Listerine (or leterin, if you’ve read my first trip report), and Oxy Clean spray. DH was thrilled by that last one. He loves Oxy Clean.

196574109-M.jpg

DH thinks he is funny and said the cold compress was for me swan diving off the Disney buses. Hardy har har!

We also have Listerine breath strips, antibacterial lotion, Tide pens, etc, etc, etc left from previous trips. When I get the new camera bag kit made up, I’ll photograph it as well.

We also went shopping for some clothing items, but I didn’t end up with much for the trip. I have some new work clothes now though! I did get two pairs of jeans, which I’ll wear some evening if it actually gets cool enough for that. And I have an order coming from Old Navy that includes a pair of brown shorts that were on sale for $12.99. DH did get some clothes for the trip on our shopping excursion though. At Old Navy, he got 4 polos, 2 button-up shirts, and 2 pairs of jeans, and I got a pair of jeans, a long-sleeved T-shirt, a short-sleeved sweater for work, and a pair of ballet flats, and our total was about $200!!! Wow! Are we bargain shoppers or what? :thumbsup2

We also purchased a new pocket-sized point and shoot digital camera. I know, I know, why am I getting such a camera? Well, we may want to take it to Pleasure Island sometimes, and we are going to two concerts in October (John Mellencamp and Fall Out Boy) and want to be able to take pictures, and they don’t allow SLR cameras at most concerts. So we basically wanted to have something we can take places that we can’t, or don’t want to take my other cameras. It’s a Fuji 50fd, and I’m really hoping for good low light performance since we’ll mostly be using it in low light situations. I got the battery charged yesterday, and I am going to play with it some tonight. I am also going to photograph all my other photography equipment so I can show y’all what I take with me to the parks to get all the pictures I’ll be posting on the report.

We have also added our Grand Gathering number to our reservations, added one to our Hoop Dee Doo ressie because our friend Jill is bringing someone (another DISer! :cool1: ) along with her, and I’m trying to get us an appointment for the Grand Floridian photo session. Since I’ll be buying the PhotoPass CD anyway, the session fee will be waived, and the photos added to the CD. Bonus! :thumbsup2 I also downloaded WDW to go from Steve Soars website for my ipod. It has general info, menus, and entertainment schedules. This is the first time I’ve done it, and I’m looking forward to seeing how I like it. I heard about it over on the DISappearing Peep Meet thread. (Thanks punkin!) I received a lovely newsletter from one of the DISappearing Peeps with all of our meet info. It is so cute and helpful! I’ll be printing it off and placing it in my PassPorter.

Many of the DISappearing Peeps (and readers of this TR) will be leaving THIS WEEK! I can’t believe it is getting so close. And once they’re gone, I’m going to be even more anxious to leave! Is it time to go to Disney yet? :hyper:

I’ll likely be posting more tonight or tomorrow, once I’ve had a chance to play with the new camera and photograph all of the equipment and our survival kits.

Even your pics of silly stuff are pretty! :rotfl: How do those heat pads work for you? Every trip we end up using a towel under hot water at night to sooth my back, I was thinking of getting those instead!

I can't believe you leave in single digits! How awesome!

Thanks! :) More is what you'll get. We're heavily into prep mode at this point, and I have more to report on before we leave. :) Hope nursing courses are going well. It will be well worth it when you're done!

I think I'm most excited about Disneyland because this is the park that Walt actually stepped foot in! :faint: I can't explain to you how much I love Walt. Of course, you may already understand. But that is just amazing to me. I've never been to California either, and I think California Adventure looks really cool too. I'm just thrilled! So yeah, I can't wait to get to the place where it all began! ;) And thanks. I'll keep that in mind when we start the planning for that trip. :thumbsup2

I can't believe you leave in single digits! How awesome!

 Thanks! Actually, DH is the heat pack user. He has a shoulder that gets sore. It's improved since we got our new mattress, but we aren't sleeping on our mattress while at WDW, so he likes to be prepared...just in case. He really likes the icy hot patches, but he says those he can't get in a single, so he gets the ACE, and he says they work great.

Hi Lynda!

Just caught up on your pre-trippie. See you on the 28th!!!!!! :yay: :yay:

I was thinking how sad you were not going to be there on Sunday, the 22nd to take the group picture, but then, that would be against the spirits, cause you can't be IN the picture if you are taking it, LOL

So we shall have to rely on volunteers to take a pic of a sea of women in lime green!

Sooo close!!!!!!!!

Can't wait! :yay: (Have I mentioned that?)

:rotfl: Well, I do have a DH who can use my equipment. And I think there will be another group picture on the 28th.

It is SO close! I did some trip prep tonight. Will post about that shortly! ;)

So, tonight I removed everything from my camera bags and repacked them. I did the same with our survival kit that we carry in our camera bag. And because we left our large survival kit (for restocking) at OKW in May, I made up new kits.

For anyone who's ever wondered what I use to take my pictures. (Those of you who don't - look away! ) This is most of what is in my camera bags. (NOTE: Not all of this comes with us to the parks every day!)

197038397-L.jpg

This is my Canon 30D with 28-135mm lens attached, Rebel XT with battery grip and kit lens (18-55mm) attached, 10-22mm lens, 70-200mm lens, my newest and smallest lens - a 50mm, lensbaby lens, lens hoods, 430EX flash attachment, 580EX flash attachment, cable shutter releases for both cameras, memory cards, various lens filters, lensbaby macro kit, mini tripod, flash diffusers, extra batteries, various cleaning supplies, mini flashlight, mini multi-purpose tool, small mirror, and ziplock bag with corners cut out so the camera strap can be fed through the holes, and the camera can be covered with the ziplock bag in case of rain. There's also the tripods and monopod, but I didn't photograph them. They also don't come with us all the time.

Here's the bottom part of our main bag, packed. That little red item hanging from my camera strap is a Mickey Mouse lens cloth that rolls up into that tiny little red thing. It is so cool!

197039264-L-1.jpg

Here's what goes into our survival kit...

197040022-L.jpg

And here's the survival kit packed in the top part of our camera bag. You can also see some of our LGMHPC tags and my bellhop Stitch (commemorating my first ToT ride).

197041191-L.jpg

Here's the inside of our secondary camera bag...

197039512-L-1.jpg

...and the secondary camera bag with the 70-200mm lens bag.

197039759-L.jpg

I just noticed tonight that my lime green tag has fallen off this bag! Not sure if I'll have time to correct that before we leave or not.

And here's our large restocking survival kit.

197038176-L-1.jpg

And look at what else we got at Old Navy!

196581765-L.jpg

:rotfl: Oliver LOVES bags! He is SO wigged out in this picture.

And here's how the little girl's been falling asleep lately...just cuz it's cute. She falls asleep with her toy (Princess Mickey ears in this case) in her mouth! :cutie:

196580791-M.jpg

Also, all of these pictures, besides the ones of Jasper and Oliver, were taken with the new point and shoot camera, and I am pretty pleased so far. And it's SO TINY!

Well, that's all for tonight. I'll keep y'all posted as the time approaches! :hourglass

I feel so inadequate! You are so beautifully organized, Lynda!

I bought most of that same stuff yesterday at Target!

Gotta have the hand sanitizer! :scared:

Sunblock! :headache:

Band aids! :guilty:

OOO....I even bought the 97 cent first aid kit this year!

Well...let's go!!! :cool1:

Hey . . . I have that same Lowepro bag! :goodvibes (both my camera bags are Lowepros, come to think of it - the black one is my smaller one) I also have a Rebel XT and various lenses, but no LensBaby - yet. I actually took a photography class from a guy named Corey Hilz (you may have seen some of his work in the LensBaby ads) and he gave us each a coupon for something like 20% off a LensBaby, so I'm looking into it. However, I think my next lens may be the new Tamron 18-250!!! I'd definitely be interested in hearing how you like the LensBaby, though.

I, too, will be taking my point and shoot digital with me on our trip (only 4 more sleeps - :cool1: ). I got it before I "really" got into photography and was playing with it last night. I discovered that it actually does a lot more than I realized when we originally got it . . . guess I've learned a few things about photography in the last 3 years. :lmao:

I envy your organizational skills, too!! :thumbsup2

P.S. - Our female German Shepherd, Kaiya, does the exact same thing with her babies! They are too cute when they do that!

I can't wait to see all of your AMAZING photos! popcorn::

I hope I don't dissappoint! :)

Ha! Thanks. When it's photography/Disney related, I guess I am organized. Actually, I love being organized. I just don't find the time to do it that often. I did last night, and DH was laughing at me too.

Love Target! :thumbsup2

Oh yeah! Hand sanitizer - a must! (In many forms, as you can see. )

Gotta have the sunblock missy!

And yeah, band aids. The toe is getting better now, but it is not done healing. I think I may end up having a VERY smooth big toe when it's all said and done though. I don't think that's such a good thing though - not on the bottom anyway.

Cool on the bargain first aid kit!

And yeah, let's leave now! (I wish!)

Melinda - Almost forgot! Yeah, Josh carries the bag a lot, but most of the time I have the camera around my neck, so the bag isn't nearly as heavy that way. And when I don't have it in the bag, I carry it part of the time.

The Lowepro was our first bag. The red and black bag is the Tamrac Adventure 7, and I love it! I love having a separate compartment for the camera equipment and our personal items.

I  my lensbaby! The picture of the pink bouquet that I posted earlier was taken with the lensbaby. Here's one from the friend's wedding I shot in July.

Yeah, it's amazing how much you can learn over time with the photography, isn't it? :)

It's adorable when they do that with they 'babies'! :cutie: I love it!
