Anyone have a walking pad? Do you like it? Any brand/model recommendations? Any cons? I don't jog so the lower speed issues are not a concern.

I have two. One at home that's more like a small treadmill with the handles and a small spot to put a phone or tablet. I bought it off Amazon back in 2023 and it works fine, if you're just going to walk. I don't really no how accurate the speed and mileage are, but that doesn't bother me since if I'm walking at home, I'm walking for a specific amount of time. I just checked and the one I bought is no longer available. I just bought a no-name brand one that had a bunch of good reviews.

The other one I got this year for my standing desk at work. I've only used it a couple of times at work because I didn't realize how hot I'd get just walking slow in regular clothes, even with the AC on. It was quiet enough to use in an office or being on the phone; I just need to dress differently, if I'm going to use it more often. Luckily, I'm usually the only one in the office all of the time, so it doesn't matter what I'm wearing.

This is the one I have at work: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C48GQJNC?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1
It looks like it's on sale right now with a $40.00 coupon.

Yes - I have one that I bought two years ago for $300 on Amazon. It folds though I’ve never used that feature - I just leave it open under my standing desk. Since I never sit at my desk, it hasn’t been an issue though if you needed it to fold frequently I could see it being cumbersome given its weight.

Overall, it’s an absolute game changer. I never walk while on camera but even then on ‘slow’ days I’m still reaching 10- 15k steps.

Highly recommend!

not working, so the not on camera thing not really a concern. I joined a gym over a year ago but never use anything other than the treadmill there and really hate leaving the house without showering (it's more my morning coffee than my morning coffee if you know what I mean) I just feel like I would get more steps in if I could do it at home.

I have a $3000 treadmill in my basement, but I bought a walking pad on Amazon for $99. My finished basement is small, and right now filled with MIL’s stuff (not a ton but she’s now in assisted living and we are almost done emptying her house, I need to freecycle stuff). My almost PT daughter (who is a fitness fanatic) suggested it for walking upstairs casually (have yet to take it out of the box, although it fell on my toe a couple of days ago). No big hour commitment, just hop on to watch a short show (we have no a/c in the basement, and ours is weird, it’s always hot, so treadmill means sweaty mess).

Exactly. And even if you just walk for 5 min here, 10 min there - over the course of 8 hours it really adds up!
