Meet the Fockers! We're watching you...

The cake and ice cream mold is still amoldering in the fridge as everyone was too stuffed from the rest of the food to eat dessert or help clean up either. :rotfl2: I am going to attempt to set it ablaze Sunday after church and will hand it out to the passing churchgoers, if necessary. Anything to get those calories out of my house!!

patman2011, watching for the green is not as easy as it used to be as the color has come back into popularity. I look for green and a smile. Then if the person is not DISer at least I know they are friendly and maybe I can convert them. I have the DIS website addy on my calling cards. I have one set for CM's with a thank you and one set for folks I meet along the way. Good luck and hope to see you when we are there! :)

PaMom001, do you know where I apply for a refund of my 'dues'??:flower3:

I am up late this morning because of my oldest grandson. He is 16 and calls me to chat a lot. I reckon I am still the only one he can call at 1 am and be assured I am willing to talk to him. So much conversation about gearboxes etc. He loves knowing something I do not know about. Granny is smarter than he thinks though. :dance3: He refuses to talk world history or literature with me though. :rolleyes1

MotoXPrincess99, the landyards were thought up and executed by MickeyFan, the fabulous. I will be wearing mine on our trip for sure!

It is a double whammy in that it shows that not only are we DISers but we are uniquely so!

I had to go buy some new clothes yesterday as I have gone down another size. I am getting closer to just plain 'fat' instead of all those darned X's before the LARGE!! BTW, if that is what they say large is what the heck did they call the size I used to be? Nevermind, I do not care to know. There are a lot more of me (both meanings) than there are of those size 0's.:dance3:

I did not sleep a wink last night, can you tell? I am more than 'slightly' today.

SG/Linda

Congratulations on losing weight! :woohoo:

I had some old "not-so-fat" clothes that I had been hanging on to for years and just recently donated them--if I ever lose weight I am not wearing old stuff, I am GOING SHOPPING!

I want to lose 10 lbs before we go--still have 5 weeks--still have no willpower. :sad2: I need to lose close to 100 lbs though...did I just say that out loud? I thought if I started exercising and watching my diet, I would at least feel better mentally on our trip, maybe not feel so self-conscious. :)

How have you lost weight? Did you have a lot to lose? I met someone on the boards and she lost 98 lbs in 7 (!) months, by walking and following weight watchers point plan. I need her willpower.

Okay, this probably isn't a weight loss board, so sorry for being :offtopic: .

:flower1:

Ricmiclvsthemouse, I weighed nearly 350 at my highest. I had gained and lost weight so many times it was not funny. I even had WL surgery way back when it was a new thing. I did not lose weight but I sure did gain an attitude. I was the nicest person around way back when. Not a good thing. :rolleyes1

I started three years ago when I decided that seeing my grandkids grow up would be an interesting thing. Started out with WW and lost the first 50. First time in my life I had ever lost that much and kept it off. I then joined TOPS (much cheaper and by then I knew what to eat and what not to eat). I hit a plateau for a year but comforted myself with the fact that I was NOT going to put the weight back on. I have been doing pretty good this year in that I have started losing regularly again.

The secret to losing weight seems to be to avoid your favorite foods. They are what brung us here in the first place. I do a low carb diet as I can eat when I want just not exactly what I want. Your mileage may vary.

I keep one size larger than I am because it is so hard to find clothes in my size. Used to be. Take that Lane Bryant!!!!:headache: I am still grateful that I can now buy off the rack. I have just lost over 100 pounds as of this past week.

Congratulations on knowing you are on a journey. Wish I had started younger. What a waste to get skinny in my old age when I cannot take full advantage of it.

SG/Linda

BTW, there is a WISH group for losing weight over on the CB. Lots of nice folks.

Michelle,
Click on the TFW link in my signature and it will take you to TFW chat. The very first post explains it all.

welcome to team focker watch.

I just went to the TFW link and then got caught up in the croc fostering, and am now waiting approval for a possible fostering of my own.

But...what is a baggellini? And where do I get a lime green lanyard (which is, I think, a thingy that hangs around your neck?)?

:thanks:

:flower1:

Oh. That sucks.

Seriously, SG, that is amazing to lose that much weight! :thumbsup2

I am now 'middle-aged' and have struggled all my life with weight. My mother had me on a protein diet when I was 10! And now, when I look back at pictures, I think 'I wasn't fat'. Not really anyway. Thanks Mom!

I have realized lately that although 'Mom' gets the blame a lot, and may even be to blame, there comes a time when you have to take responsibility for your life. Eventually the blame is all mine.

So here I go...:cool1:

Ricmiclvsthemouse, you are on the right track. It is too much to think of to lose so much weight all at one time. You (and I) did not gain it all at once but I can practically guarantee you that it will come off faster than it came on, might not feel like that at times though. Your stomach will actually shink and your whole way of eating will change. Please check out Dottie's site on the web. It is the best WW site there is and so much info.

Our parents did what they thought was right at that time and place and we surely did the same with our kids and they will do the same to theirs. Life goes on anywho. I had a sibling who told me years ago that the best revenge on the really BAD parents is to live and be happy. The GOOD ones will be happy for you.

A baggellini is a sort of purse that reminds me of a canteen sort of. It is supposed to be easier to lug around. A search should show a picture.

Thank you for the kind words and encouragement. :goodvibes

Can you post the link to Dottie's site? I can never seem to find what I'm looking for when I use the 'search' function. :confused3

I hope we manage to run into each other when we're at the World. :)

See you later!

Ricmiclvsthemouse, I am not sure I did this right. When I do a Google search on "Dottie's" hers is the first site that pops up just in case.

I am off to read the thread you told me about. I gave my husband the left over Baked Alaska for dinner. I am not that kind of woman really. Tough times call for tough measures though. It has eggs and milk so it has to be healthy, right? He seems happy. :dance3:
