Just saw this article. We were there 2 weeks before but we've all had our shots too. Very scary for those with babies

We were there, but anyone infected at DL should be symptomatic by now (the incubation period to rash onset is 14-18 days).

Well dang. I was there during that time and am now sick. Though, I don't believe it is measles. I have a bad sore throat but no other symptoms, and no rash. I go to the doctor tomorrow morning, I hope it's not measles.

If you are all vaccinated then you have nothing to worry about. You have a bigger chance of getting influenza.

You can google it up to see the latest info on the outbreak. No one can decide if your family is safe there but you. Google it up. Find the latest news articles & CDC info. Get informed. Make your decision. It's yours & yours alone, it's no one else's place to tell you what you should or shouldn't be doing with your family. (In re-reading that it sounds kinda harsh, but I mean it to sound personally empowering for you.)

If you're all vaccinated you should be fine. Last year when there was a measles outbreak in Southern California I went and had blood work to make sure I had immunities still. Turns out I didn't and I got a booster. If you're super concerned just call your dr.

I feel like an outbreak like this could happen anywhere. Especially if more people decline to get vaccinated. It isn't stopping us, but my kids have expressed concern. I agree that only you can decide what is right for your family.

Secondly, you said you are all vaccinated so why are you even worried?

It's up to you but at some point having information can cascade into fear mongering. Now if someone has a decreased immune system for any reason I can understand being hesitant but this could have happened ANYWHERE.

It is a personal choice but asking a message board isn't the best option. Educate yourself and make the choice for you - not someone else. I honestly doubt it's an issue overall for most people.

The "others" are stupid. Disneyland doesn't have a measles problem, it was the specific people who were there that day.

The same thing could happen in Walmart in UT.

Don't hurt yourself. Just a curious question to see if people are avoiding going right now. Also at least 1 that caught the measles in Disneyland had been vaccinated. They probably didn't get as sick but they still caught some form of the virus.

others telling you not to go just because of the measles outbreak that was limited and does not seem to be a problem anymore is like telling you not go walk outside cuz someone could have ebola.

besides if you're vaccinated it would be very hard for you to catch it anyways.

if i were you i wouldn't give a second thought to "everyone".

go if you want to go.

When I applied to attend grad school (I was 42 at the time and still in the Navy) I was given a form I had to fill out saying I had the MMR vaccination or had the disease. I had to prove one or the other. No MMR vaccination because I had the disease when I was a child. They wanted me to get a letter from my doctor at the time (38 years later) attesting that I had those diseases.

Well to make this short, Medical said they could draw blood and check for the antibodies and giving me a letter stating that I had previously had the diseases. I am pretty sure it is called a Titer.

You can always call your doctor and ask to have the test done for you own peace of mind.

What happened at Disneyland could have happened anywhere, in fact there have been many measle outbreaks this year. And because so, so, so many people were there creating the possibility of a large spread. There's nothing wrong with making Disneyland a focal point of the story. Bad things can and do happen at Disneyland even though the Coolade drinkers would have us think the opposite. The various stories could do better at pointing out the full facts of how it could spread...

I've had measles more times than is supposed to be possible, and I'm still going on Monday. The people who got sick were there more than 18 days ago, so the odds are stupidly in my favor.

The virus can survive up to 4 hours on surfaces. Patient X was estimated to have been there Dec 15-20. The virus is long gone in Disneyland.
