Outside of the problems that have been reported with ME (of which I am well aware)... Which would you choose if you were traveling with 2 kids who still needed carseats? ME without being able to use carseats, or a luxury van through a towncar company using 2 carseats? I do NOT want this to turn into a carseat debate. I am wondering about how big the ME vans/busses are and if people who've ridden in them would've felt comfortable without a carseat, knowing the safety standards for busses is considerably different then that of cars/vans, etc. I had heard that ME uses both large busses and smaller vans and while I might be comfortable on a bus I am not sure about if we were on a smaller van without the carseats. So I wanted to know if the various sizes of their vehicles is true also. Thanks and please keep it nice.

Where have you heard of DME using vans? Maybe you're thinking of the vans they use to transport luggage???

I was in WDW for a week in May, and used DME. All I know is that when I was in my bus queue at MCO I saw a whole lot of brand-spanking-new DME buses angle-parked and waiting to go, and I took the same type of bus back from my resort to MCO.

But my real credentials? Dad of a 5 year old and 2 year old. Sure, it was weird to have them unrestrained, but then again, it's the same when we visit NYC and they ride the subway and city buses. The DME buses are a bit more plush than NYC buses, let me tell you.

My wife is a pediatrician -- she wouldn't have let our kids ride if she didn't consider it safe. And she knew what we were getting into before we left home, it's not like she was surprised and figured we had no other choice.

I thought I had read they used vans for times when there were very few scheduled pickups/dropoffs (which I thought we might run into since we are arrving at night). This was before the service actually began though so I could be completely wrong. Thanks for your opinion. I also would put my kids on a bus to get around the city (in this case Muni around San Francisco), so its comforting to think of it like that. Thanks!!
