ME ~ Should I Be Worried?

I made a Magical Express reservation Through the DVC website on 7/2. We leave in 2 weeks and haven't received our luggage tags yet. Should I be worried? Guess I'll call MS today - it just seems to me they've always come sooner than this, but this is the first time I've made the ressie through the website. Anyone else experienced this?

I have only booked ME through the members website and it's always come through. However, for this upcoming trip, I booked 3 different times, for 3 different guests/departure cities, etc. I've only gotten replies for 2 of them, so I too am going to call MS to find out if there's a problem.

It seemed to me that the site was taking too long between pages, so I do think something wasn't right.

I just called, and the other ME reservation was in the system, I just didn't get the confirmation of that fact via e-mail. I hope your experience is also a happy one.

YIKES! I called MS and they had no record of my reservation and had to do it over. I'm not using the website again!!

I used the website, and my reservations were entered for the wrong month! I had the confirmation printout which showed the correct month, but when it got to be one week before our trip and no tags, I called down to MS and discovered we were in the system with the wrong month. They corrected our reservations in the system, and everyone here on the boards assured me everything would be fine without the tags. I went out and made my own tags, and three days before we left, the ME tags with the incorrect month arrived, so I simply corrected the date on them and attached them to our luggage. As long as MS has you in the system, you should be fine.

As long as they have your reservation you will be fine. Just go and get your luggage from the carousel and take it to the ME bus. We had to do this last November and it worked just fine. Didn't take long for the luggage and we arrived at the resort before noon with all our luggage and an available room !

Thanks! I think we will get our own luggage from baggage claim - we're arriving at 9 in the morning so we'll still have a full day of fun ahead of us!

You know, you don't have to get your own bags unless you REALLY REALLY want to. Like many people here on the boards told me, just have some type of identifyable (is that a word?) tag on your luggage, let ME know what the tag looks like, and they will handle your luggage for you. I made tags out of yellow craft foam, with multi colored striped ribbons in the shape of a Mickey head, with our parties' last names and our resort on the front, DH & my cell phone numbers on the back. I made a smaller version of the tag to show ME, but never had to show them it. It was SO nice to just go downstairs and check in with ME and not deal with the luggage.

Our ME booked through the website came back incorrect as well. One person is missing from our group. I called and they told me they would send another out. If for some reason I didn't receive it in time I should just give the luggage receipt you get with your boarding passes to ME when I check in. They will pick up the bags for us based on our receipts. Hope this helps!

My family has already gotten their ME tags. I suppose MS wondered why I was even calling to see if they all were listed, they had received the tags last week. Our vacation is nearly here!!

Oh, I'm sorry if you thought I made them look like the ME tags, I just made very noticable tags so that I could tell ME what to look for when they went to claim our luggage (they were made out of bright yellow craft foam, in the shape of Mickey heads, with the last names of our traveling party and our resort - SSR on the front, DH and my cell phone # on the back. I even made an extra, smaller, one that I was going to give to them as a sample. I found neon striped ribbon that I used to tie them to our luggage with.) But in answer to your question, the tags are yellow, with a black Mickey head on them with initials for the resort area you are staying at (for exammple, we stayed at SSR, so there's a "DD" on ours, and "Saratoga Springs" below it), the names of the people in your traveling party, the date you arrive, and your reservation code. I don't think you could make your own to look like the ME tages, but now you know

Last year I called and signed up for Magic Express (too late for the tags to arrive, but MS said I didn't need one) then decided that we would take a towncar to VWL. I called Disney and cancelled the ME. When we arrived at MCO, everyone's luggage was on the carousel except mine. When I went to SW's office, they right away checked in the back, and Disney had pulled it even though I had cancelled. It's something to check for, if your luggage is not there.
