Me on VMK...important: my friends PLEASE read!

Ok I just wanted to let everyone know something. Most of you probably read my thread that I would be off VMK for a while until I get windows. Well, as some of you know, we got a crossover program that allows us to run some Windows apps on Linux (like vmk). So I am actually able to go on VMK, and only do so for checking inventory for trades, making trades, credits runs, buying items, decorating rooms, etc.

However, I am unable to properly carry on a conversation with more than one person besides me talking in the room. Reason is, VMK runs so SLOW for me that when 3 or more ppl are talking, what I type in shows up on the screen anywhere from 1-3 minutes after I type it. So my speech becomes irrelevant in the conversation once it finally shows up (just ask GuestRiku and Captain Brain!)

So, friends, here's the deal: if you see that I am on VMK, please do not come and try to talk to me, unless we have set up a trade. Especially if you see that someone besides me is in the room. You are welcome to pop in and say "hi", but that's about it. It's just too annoying to try and talk beyond "hi".

Just wanted to let everyone I am friends with know this, so you will understand if I'm not talking to you or whatever.

I will post here when we finally get Windows and I can play at a normal speed again, but it will probably be a while since the person selling us the windows software has not been paid (due to their bidpay account not working) and when we finally are able to pay them, we still have to wait for it to be shipped, and who knows how long THAT will take. I know we could have just gone to CompUSA or wherever and bought it, but it is a $200 program and we found it on Ebay for only $50. Saving money = waiting 47 years to get the program! Gotta save money at Holiday time, ya know!

So I know it will be painful, but you will just have to live without talking to me on VMK for a while. (joke) DIS is just fine so I have been spending much more time here than on VMK.

Is that better? Or still too big? I'm going to make the center pic smaller to fit the others and the sparkly name smaller, but I don't have time right now (and not sure I can do it w/out Windows...I have to wait for my fiance to ask him if I can edit pics on Linux and how to!)

Read it- good to knkow. Thanks Mia . If you need me to fix your sig pics, just ask- I'd be happy to help if you can't do it on Linux (though that may happen as late as tomorrow 'cause I'm going to my relatives' house tonight, but I'll try). Hope you get it fixed soon!

I figured out how to fix the pic...but i'm too lazy/tired and have too much other junk to do right now, so I'll probably do it tomorrow. I think my sig is okay now anyway, right? Oh and I was actually able to carry on a conversation tonight with a bunch of people in the room....I turned the sound off and I think that may have helped. So maybe it won't be so bad after all....but we will see.

Okay, so you're having problems talking in VMK. No big deal. The Message Box does seem to serve its purpose, but I can see where that too may be a pain in the neck.

Hey, look at it this way: At least the censor bots won't "get" you for saying things you shouldn't be saying.

Well, the Windows CD has been paid for, or at least the money order was sent. So now we play the waiting game. However, vmk has been running a little faster lately so I have been playing. Just do not be surprised if I suddenly cannot move or talk or just crash.

So, you guys are welcome to visit me now! Especially now that I have my Pirate Cannon room and my tent room (Cool People Camp Out) is finished....I think

I read it. My internet is VERY fast, but on another computer I use It takes me about, an hour to get on VMK, ( I don't really get on VMK from there, lol
